Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 687 - 680: Intercepting the Convoy

Chapter 687: Chapter 680: Intercepting the Convoy

After spending one night at Melia’s camp, oppressive news finally came the next day. According to a report from the border infantry regiment, a team of about twenty or more vehicles refused their inspection and attempted to break through. This led to an immediate exchange of fire.

Upon receiving the news, even though Melia was somewhat reluctant to involve Luo’er and his team, she rationally notified the Advance Team immediately. Upon receiving Melia’s message, the Advance Team promptly prepared for deployment.

They managed to gather their equipment and were battle-ready in less than ten minutes. At this time, the transport plane was already long ready for departure in the training ground. Under the gaze of the onlooking soldiers, members of the Advance Team boarded the transport plane one after another. Before the cabin door could even be fully closed, the plane took off in urgency, heading straight for the conflict zone.

"Moumou, notify the airborne fleet to prepare for fire support. Fula, establish battlefield communication and guide the airborne fleet for aerial strikes!" In the transport plane, Luo’er ordered solemnly.

Upon hearing Luo’er’s words, Tangmo turned to draft the message. Fulajie’er suddenly popped up in mid-air, hovering there. She crossed her arms with a puffing expression and muttered, "You’ve finally remembered me."

"What’s got you all worked up?" Luo’er asked with mixed laughter and tears.

"Yesterday, you two were so lovey-dovey, completely ignoring my existence. I nearly suffocated!" Fulajie’er complained.

"We were just having a heart-to-heart talk. Don’t make things up!" Luo’er glanced at Tangmo and Baiyue and said somewhat flusteredly.

"I don’t care, no one was talking to me. I am very upset. Why can’t I appear in front of them too!" Fulajie’er whined, fluttering about in the air.

"I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t consider your feelings." Luo’er comforted her.

"You always just say sorry. It’s meaningless coming from you." Fulajie’er retorted, arms crossed.

"How about I make it up to you later?" Luo’er asked.

"That’s more like it." Fulajie’er quickly changed from anger to joy and then floated over to perch on Luo’er’s shoulder.

She looked around and saw Feng, by the cabin door, curiously looking at her. She shuddered in fear and immediately hid in Luo’er’s arms, sobbing.

"What’s wrong now?" Luo’er asked patiently.

"She...she’s staring at me again!" Fulajie’er pointed in the direction where Feng was.

"Why are you so afraid of her? She holds no malice." Luo’er turned his head to glance at Feng. She was staring at him with wide eyes, looking completely innocent.

"Woo, she knows I exist. I’m afraid!" Fulajie’er complained.

"What’s there to be afraid of? You’re a ghost. Shouldn’t it be people who are scared of you?" Luo’er asked, puzzled.

"You don’t understand. For the past twenty years or so, I’ve always been invisible. Even if I occasionally appear before others, it’s on purpose. I’m used to this state," Fulajie’er said pitifully, "Now there’s someone who can easily track me. Even when I don’t manifest myself, she can locate me. Of course, I’m scared."

"Alright, I can’t help with this, but I still hope you two can get along ..." Luo’er shrugged helplessly.

The transport plane swooped quickly over the Roen River and soon arrived at the conflict zone, which was already under the control of border infantry regiment. At this point, they were intercepting those who attempted to break through, with continuous gunfire accompanying.

Requesting Melia to dispatch an army to aid the Advance Team in searching for cargo was smoother than Luo’er had expected. Due to the epidemic, personnel commanding the borders of Odelanqi were mobilized to the quarantine zone, leaving most of the Yenroen River area virtually defenseless.

Although previously Odelanqi and Masya had conflicts, fundamentally it was just the royal families of both nations not getting along. In reality, their vassals relationships were still intact. Both nations’ vassals were in constant communication. Occurrences of sending their armies to another’s territory upon an invitation were commonplace.

Under Luo’er’s instructions, the transport plane landed directly behind the border infantry regiment. As soon as he jumped off the plane, a man who looked like a military officer ran over and saluted him.

Headquarters ordered the Advance Team not to salute in Otherworld, so when the officer in front of him saluted, Luo’er was too stunned to respond immediately, only returning the salute after a while.

"Captain Luo’er, you’re finally here." The officer said with relief.

"What’s the situation?" Luo’er asked.

"We have blocked their escape, and are attempting to surround them, but they are attempting to retreat upon seeing the tough situation. We are planning to cut them off." The officer replied.

"No need to bother. We, the Advance Team, will handle the intercepting. Your job is to block them here and not allow a single person to escape." Luo’er waved dismissively.

"Understood, we will follow your order!" The officer responded respectfully.

"Also, the wagon is carrying dangerous cargo. Have your men handle it carefully. Do not hit the goods on the wagon. If any of it leaks out, everyone will be in trouble!" Luo’er continued.

"Yes, I understand!" The officer answered respectfully again.

"Alright, it’s time to set off. Remember, do not move around at will until the fight is over, to avoid accidental strikes from the sky!" Luo’er said as he boarded the transport plane again.

"Yes, sir!" The officer saluted again.

Upon boarding the transport plane, Luo’er instructed the pilot to turn around and land directly behind the enemy lines, aiming to block all the men.

"Luo’er," Cheng Ziang suddenly stopped him, then asked anxiously, "Have you ever thought that maybe these people don’t have the virus, they’re just ordinary merchants who mistakenly believe they have been attacked by bandits. What then?"

Hearing his words, Luo’er paused for a moment, then said resolutely: "Better to kill a thousand erroneously than to let one off. The virus cannot be spread!"

"As long as you’re prepared for this." Hearing Luo’er’s words, Cheng Ziang nodded satisfactorily.

The transport plane skimmed over the treetops, on a gravel road in the forest. The road was lined with tall, primitive forests, where the tree canopies blocked the sunlight, hardly letting one see what was going on below, only gunfire echoing like fireworks could be heard.

Feng stood by the open cabin door, one hand gripping the handrail, the other holding a long sword. When the transport plane got to the shooting area, she suddenly pricked up her ears, then looked expectantly at Luo’er.

"What is it?" Noticing her gaze, Luo’er couldn’t help but ask.

"Enemies!" Feng gave a thumbs down and told him.

"Are you sure?" Luo’er asked, frowning.

"Sure!" Feng nodded.

"Alright, Fula..." Luo’er hadn’t finished speaking when Feng interrupted him. She stared straight at Luo’er, asking expectantly, "Can I attack?"

"Attack, now?" Luo’er asked.

"Yeah!" Feng nodded heavily.

"Isn’t it too dangerous now? People below are shooting, you will inevitably be hit if you go down." Luo’er said worriedly.

"No need to worry, I can assure you I’ll kill them all!" Feng calmly stated the horrifying proclamation.

"This..." Luo’er hesitantly looked at Cheng Ziang.

"I think you should trust her. Feng never boasts. Her confidence is built on her strength." Cheng Ziang nodded and said.

"Okay, I’ll land somewhere, and we can attack together from that direction." Luo’er pondered for a moment, then agreed with a nod.

"No need to go to all that trouble, I can handle it alone." Feng waved her hand.

After saying that, she slowly moved to the middle of the cabin door, seemingly wanting to jump down. She took a deep breath, then turned her head to look at Luo’er and asked, "Luo’er, can I attack?"

"Okay!" Although he felt something was off, Luo’er still nodded in agreement to her request.

"Thank you!" As soon as Feng’s words landed, she jumped down the side of the cabin door in a freefall, heading right into the shooting area headfirst.

"Feng!" Seeing her actions, Luo’er was so excited he almost jumped down after her, but was stopped in time by Cheng Ziang.

"Don’t rush, she will be fine." Cheng Ziang stopped him, saying it.

"She will be fine? That’s a height of over thirty meters!" Luo’er exclaimed incredulously.

"She’s not going to commit suicide..." Cheng Ziang shrugged and said calmly. His calm demeanor contrasted vividly with Luo’er’s look of shock.

"Feng, she won’t be in any trouble, right?" Luo’er pursed his lips, looking worried.
