Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 678 - 671: Seeing Momo Again

Chapter 678: Chapter 671: Seeing Momo Again

Ever since Tangmo heard what Luo’er had said, she had been in a downcast mood, thus she stayed in her cabin to rest and didn’t participate in the work of the Advance Team.

However, for Luo’er, Tangmo’s absence was rather beneficial as it saved him some worry. After all, he was always concerned she would suddenly do something dangerous. Her previous self-conducted experiments had given him quite a scare.

Tangmo gradually woke up, not knowing how long she had slept. She looked towards the porthole. The airship fleet had already suspended above the cloud layer, hence she could see the stars outside the window immediately.

There were wall lamps made using the light emitting principle of runes on the airship, which were somewhat brighter than traditional candles and kerosene lamps, giving her the illusion that she had returned to Earth.

There was a gentle knock at the door, after which, Hu Daoke walked in carrying a tray. Seeing Tangmo, a look of relief spread across his face. "Sister Moumou, you’re finally awake. Eat something!"

Apart from Luo’er, no one knew the actual reason for Tangmo’s spirits being down, so everyone assumed it was because she got hurt in the experiment that day.

"How long did I sleep?" Tangmo scratched her disheveled hair and asked softly.

"Uh, almost a day, I think." Hu Daoke pondered and said.

"I actually slept that long..." Tangmo sighed lightly after hearing his answer.

"Sister Moumou, eat something. I guessed that you should be waking up soon, so I brought you some food." Hu Daoke said, placing the tray on the table. On the tray was some simple bread and mashed potatoes, and a cup of fruit wine tasting similar to fruit vinegar.

"Thanks," Tangmo nodded, but didn’t immediately start eating.

"Er, Sister Moumou," Hu Daoke sat across from her, hesitated for a moment, then said with concern, "If it’s really serious, let the airship arrange for a reconnaissance aircraft to take you back to Earth for examination and treatment. We all worry about the state you’re in now."

"It’s not a physical issue, the injuries from that day have largely healed," Tangmo said, avoiding his gaze.

"Then what is it?" Hu Daoke asked troubled.

"Because," Tangmo looked up at him, biting her lip, then said, "Oh, you being a younger brother shouldn’t know about these things."

"Sister Moumou, I’m about to start a family..." Hu Daoke said with a wry smile.

"Who would understand emotional matters..." Tangmo responded after a long sigh.

"Could it be that the boss broke up with you?" Hu Daoke asked tentatively.

"What break up, we were never dating, don’t spread rumors." On hearing his words, Tangmo’s cheeks turned a shade redder, she lowered her head and said in a grumbling tone.

"Lately, the boss has been spending all his time with Yue’er, I sensed something was up a while ago." Hu Daoke slapped the table exclaiming.

"You better not stir things up, don’t let personal feelings disturb the team’s relationships," Tangmo glared at him, warning.

"Sister Moumou, where is your fighting spirit? In the past, you always had the upper hand. Why do you seem to lack any will to fight this time, willing to go with the flow?" Hu Daoke once again slapped the table, advising earnestly.

"Nosy child. Don’t interfere in our business, I have my own thoughts." Tangmo said.

"I was hoping that one day the boss could become my brother-in-law." Hu Daoke said excitedly.

"In your lifetime, you better not think about it." Tangmo said casually.

"Huh?" Apparently not hearing Tangmo’s words clearly, Hu Daoke voiced his question.

"It’s nothing," Tangmo gestured, her gaze suddenly shifting to a notebook on the bedside table. So, she raised her head and looked at Hu Daoke, asking, "Whose notebook is this?"

"Isn’t it yours? I thought you were going to write a diary." Hu Daoke responded, taken aback.

"When did I start keeping a diary? Maybe it’s Yue’er’s." Tangmo shrugged, then picked up the notebook.

"Hey, if it’s someone else’s notebook, maybe you shouldn’t look. Yue’er might get upset." Hu Daoke advised from the side.

"It’s placed on my bedside table - why would I be afraid to look?" Tangmo replied dismissively, and then opened the notebook.

She flipped to the first page, it was blank save for two Chinese characters in the middle reading: Idiot!

Tangmo furrowed her brow, then continued flipping to the second page, where the text increased, but was still in Chinese: "Such an idiot!"

"Who wrote this?" Tangmo felt annoyed after being insulted twice in a row. She pursed her lips in disapproval, speculating about who could pull such a prank.

She first ruled out the three men from the Advance Team. Luo’er was a serious man with good manners - he wouldn’t leave such rude notes. The same applied to Cheng Ziang - he was aloof by nature. As for Hu Daoke, he had been like a younger brother to her for years and his sense of class was deeply ingrained - he wouldn’t dare to disrespect his superior.

Among the remaining women, Fulajie’er and Feng couldn’t write Chinese and Nightingale wouldn’t have spare time for such behavior. As for Baiyue, while they were competitors, in Tangmo’s understanding, Baiyue was a pretty straightforward and serious person, who wouldn’t resort to such mocking pranks.

So, by elimination, the only one left was Zhuyan Yu - she could write Chinese and her personality was likely to perform such pranks.

With this in mind, Tangmo flipped to the next page. But seeing the words written there, her expression immediately changed. The page simply read: "You’ve guessed wrong, try again!"

Clearly, the person leaving these traces knew her very well - knew what she would think after seeing these words. Tangmo stared blankly for a moment, her mind a blank. Only after a while did a vague image start to form.

"Sister Moumou, are you okay?" Seeing that Tangmo was acting strangely, Hu Daoke asked worriedly.

"Uh, oh, I, I’m fine, Little Ke," Tangmo managed, then doubled over with a violent cough. She covered her mouth and spoke, "Could you get me some suppressant medicine?"

"Eh, sure, I’ll be right back!" Upon hearing Tangmo’s request, Hu Daoke responded and then turned to run off.

Once Hu Daoke’s figure vanished at the doorway, Tangmo impatiently continued flipping through the notebook. The next page, at the center, read: "Guess you’re getting a hunch, keep guessing!"

The line on the page exuded a sense of cunning from the person who had left the message. Tangmo could even imagine the smug expression this person had while writing it.

She took a deep breath, holding on to the idea in her mind and continued to the next page. It still had a single line written: "Long time no see, sister. Still not getting anywhere, I see. I’m worried for you!"

It was her. It had to be. Tangmo’s breath quickened. The only person who could write Chinese, knew her this well, and would do such a thing - it had to be her. It had to be that other personality called Momo.

If Tangmo’s memory served her right, Momo was supposed to be in a dormant state, so how did she wake up? When did she write these words? Could she control Tangmo’s body again?

Every time she thought of Momo, Tangmo couldn’t help but remember her wild demeanor. If she hadn’t struggled to regain control of her body, Luo’er would have already been killed by Momo - a, a mad and obsessive woman.

After regaining control of her body last time, Tangmo assumed Momo would not reappear, so she did not return to Earth for systematic treatment. As the host personality of the body, Tangmo had the right to control her body. If Momo wanted to control it again, she needed Tangmo’s consent.

But if that was the case, how did Momo manage to write these words? Could it be a mental command? Or did she no longer need Tangmo’s permission and could take control of her body whenever she wanted?

At the thought, Tangmo shivered, feeling a chill of dread. The previous incident was still fresh in her mind – Momo, that insane character, had nearly killed Luo’er.
