Chapter 554: Chapter 547: Fulajie’er’s Decision
"Fulajie’er!" While Nightingale was busy recording data, Li Si softly called out to Fulajie’er.
"What’s wrong?" Fulajie’er floated to his front, tilting her head to ask.
"Shh, I have something I want to discuss with you." Li Si hurriedly made a ’shush’ action, then glanced guiltily at Nightingale who was not far away.
"Oh!" Noticing his on-guard demeanor, although she didn’t know what had occurred, Fulajie’er still lowered her voice.
The way she toned down her voice was unique, merely lowering her control of her Soul Domain to avoid Soul Resonance with others.
"So, Fulajie’er, what do you think about Luo’er?" Li Si scratched his head as he asked.
"I really like Luo’er! He’s great!" The grin on Fulajie’er’s face was unstoppable when she mentioned Luo’er.
"Umm, so, would you... would you be willing to help Luo’er for a while?" Li Si hesitated before asking.
"Help?" Fulajie’er tilted her head again.
"Well, like how you aided the Advance Team before, use your current abilities to help Luo’er." Li Si explained.
"Of course I’m willing!" Fulajie’er agreed promptly.
"Well, you might want to think it over. Luo’er’s probably preparing to set out on a mission again. If you follow them, it means for a while, you’ll be apart from your sister. But don’t worry, we’re not trying to separate the pair of you. Your sister will be waiting for you at a safe place in the North." Li Si stated.
"Apart from sister?" Fulajie’er hesitated, then turned to look at Nightingale. Seeming to notice her sister’s gaze, Nightingale glanced over at them. The moment she saw Li Si, her gaze cooled.
"Uhh, think it through, I’ll be leaving first..." Terrified by Nightingale’s unfriendly look, Li Si quickly retreated.
Fulajie’er floated in place, going back and forth, pondering Li Si’s words. After some time passed, she seemed to have made up her mind. After turning in place, she floated towards Nightingale.
"Sister!" Fulajie’er called out sweetly.
"What did that guy say to you?" Instead of being moved by this, Nightingale asked sternly, her face expressionless.
"He didn’t say anything, Sister, don’t worry." Fulajie’er blinked, sounding a little guilty.
"We may have been apart for a while, but I can still tell when you’re lying." Nightingale responded coldly.
"Hehe," Fulajie’er scratched her head, revealing an embarrassed grin. She paused briefly before looking at Nightingale, "Umm, Sister, I want to go on an adventure with Luo’er, is that okay?"
Upon hearing this, Nightingale couldn’t help but sigh deeply. Sure enough, just as she had suspected, Li Si was trying to persuade Fulajie’er to join the Advance Team to reinforce their combat strength. Although her sister would be a significant help to the Advance Team, she just couldn’t bring herself to part with Fulajie’er.
"So, you really want to leave me that much?" Nightingale asked with a serious expression.
"No, of course, not! It’s just that... I want to be with Luo’er too!" Looking at Luo’er playing with Tangmo and Baiyue not far from there, there was a knowing smile on Fulajie’er’s face.
Nightingale sighed again, her frown deepening. "Do you not understand that Luo’er has two other girls chasing after him?"
"Of course I know, but... but," Fulajie’er twirled in place, then said somewhat shyly, "They say that companionship is the sincerest form of confession!"
"Who taught you that?" Nightingale asked unimpressed.
"Them!"
"Who are ’them’?" Nightingale pursued further.
"Ah, Sister, you’ve gone off topic!" Fulajie’er whined.
Nightingale reached out her palm, and Fulajie’er instinctively sat in it. Looking at her little sister, who was so light that Nightingale could barely feel her weight, she said, resigned, "Go ahead and follow Luo’er if you want to. Sister won’t stop you. But remember this. Don’t get yourself tangled up in their complicated romantic relationships. You’re still young. You can’t handle the heartache."
"Complicated romantic relationships?" Fulajie’er looked at her cocking her head.
"It’s nothing," Nightingale shook her head, and continued to say, "since your mind is made up, I’ll go and let Luo’er know!"
"Ah, thank you, Sister!" Upon hearing Nightingale’s consent to her request, Fulajie’er jumped up excitedly from her palm, flipping several somersaults in the air.
"Luo’er, come over here!" Nightingale didn’t walk over, instead, she gestured and called Luo’er over directly.
"Sister Nightingale, is there anything wrong?" Luo’er came over somewhat scrupulously upon seeing her serious expression. Just as he walked in front of Nightingale, Fulajie’er swiftly flew behind him and settled on his shoulder.
Nightingale sighed and then said, "Luo’er, Fula wants to adventure with you. Do you agree?"
"Uh... Adventure..." Luo’er was momentarily speechless.
"This is probably also what the higher-ups want, hoping that Fula can provide extra battle power to the Advance Team. You’ve also seen that Fula can solve the communication problems of the small team. With her, your tasks will be much easier." Nightingale said.
"So, what does Sister Nightingale mean?" Luo’er understood what she said and asked her hesitantly.
"Since it’s Fula’s idea, what else can I say?" Nightingale said and helplessly shook her head.
"Since Sister Nightingale agrees, then I naturally welcome it." Luo’er said.
"That’s good. I’ll go back and study and prepare some devices for you that would make it easier for Fula to navigate." Nightingale said. Actually, she knew it very well that Luo’er would love to have Fulajie’er’s help, so how could he possibly refuse it?
"Then I will have to trouble Sister Nightingale." Luo’er said gratefully.
"Listen carefully, Luo’er, Fula is now trapped in the crystal inside that box. Before I hand this box over to you, I want you to promise, with your life, that you will protect her unconditionally." Nightingale looked at Luo’er and said solemnly.
"I am willing to guarantee with my life!" Luo’er furrowed his brows and said with a serious face.
"Here, I hope you don’t disappoint me." Saying that, Nightingale took out the box still warm from her bosom and handed it to Luo’er.
"Rest assured, I will protect Fula at any cost." Luo’er took the box and promised her.
"Wow, I am Luo’er’s now!" Fula said, hugging Luo’er’s neck affectionately, with her lower body floating in the air.
"What’s mine, don’t say things that can lead to misunderstandings." Luo’er helplessly laughed.
"Ah, you’re clinging to Luo’er again, I won’t allow you to hold him like this!" Upon seeing Fulajie’er and Luo’er close together, Tangmo was instantly filled with jealousy and rushed over trying to pull her off him.
"Hehehe, you can’t catch me." Fulajie’er rolled her eyes at her and said mockingly.
After handing the box to Luo’er, Nightingale suddenly felt as if something was missing in her heart. She walked towards the city with a sense of melancholy. Not far away, she saw Li Si walking towards her, which angered her.
"Satisfied now?" Nightingale glared at him and asked coldly.
"No, I didn’t say anything." Li Si waved his hands repeatedly, saying with a touch of guilt.
"Don’t be in my way, I’m not feeling well!" Nightingale coldly said and tried to leave after pushing him aside.
"Are you angry?" Li Si asked cautiously from behind her.
"Are you blind?" Nightingale didn’t turn her head and responded grumpily.
"It’s okay, isn’t it? Now that Fulajie’er is gone, don’t I still have you!" Li Si hesitated for a moment, then mustered up the courage to say.
Nightingale paused at his words, turned her head to give him a cold stare, and didn’t say a word.
"Did I say something wrong?" Li Si scratched his head and lowered it guiltily.
"You really are an idiot." Nightingale muttered, and after saying these cold words, she bit her lip, turned around, and walked away without looking back.
