Otherworld Advance Team
Chapter 547 - 540: Resurrection of the New God

Chapter 547: Chapter 540: Resurrection of the New God

The sound of nearby gunfire rose once again. After dealing with the troublesome giant, the mercenaries found themselves clashing with the Theron again. However, most of the elite Therons within the base were dispatched, leaving only ordinary Therons on the outside, attempting to regain control of the base.

"I’m going to support them." Luo’er said, slowly helping Tangmo to his feet.

"I’ll go with you!" Tangmo said.

"No need, you just need to assist Nightingale and the others, leave the fighting to us." Luo’er declined.

"So we’re useless again." Tangmo muttered.

"Who says you’re useless? You just played a big role." Luo’er said, touching her little face.

What he said was the truth. Given the situation just now, apart from Tangmo, he couldn’t find anyone else who could stop that guy from attacking the buildings. In gunfights, the three old men of the Advance Team had a significant influence. However, in terms of magical warfare, Tangmo’s contribution was much greater than that of the entire Advance Team combined.

"You clearly know that I played a big role, but you didn’t reward me. You’re an incompetent captain." Tangmo pouted.

"You..." Luo’er was left speechless by her words, and he let out a helpless laugh.

After hesitating for a moment, he bent slightly, pecked Tangmo on the cheek, then blushed and said, "Are you satisfied now?"

"No, no!" Tangmo revealed a satisfied smile, but clearly, she wasn’t content. Instead, she tip-toed, pointing at her lips with her finger.

"Get to work, stop thinking about such things!" Luo’er harshly rejected her request, pushed away her face, then ran off with his gun, leaving behind a frustrated Tangmo stomping her foot.

With a satisfied heart, Tangmo ran to the Body Construction Room. Nightingale and the others were there, replacing the reverse rune module that had just been swapped out, and installing the rune module she had prepared earlier.

"Is there enough energy left in the magic crystal?" Nightingale asked Gude.

"Barely enough, but we probably can’t create a body as large as before." Gude replied after glancing at the magic crystal.

"How big can we create?" Nightingale asked, wrinkling her eyebrows.

"Well, let’s say..." Gude took another glance at the magic crystal, made some calculations in his mind, then gestured an approximate size with his hands, "Around just over a meter tall, almost the same as a little girl."

"Do you have any spare magic crystal energy?" Nightingale asked.

"In the warehouse!" Gude answered honestly.

"Damn!" Nightingale muttered under her breath. The magic crystals in the warehouse had just been destroyed by the Advance Team, leaving only fragments.

"Should we look for more, and see if we can find any usable magic crystals?" Tangmo stepped forward and asked.

"No need," Nightingale shook her head, then after a prolonged silence, she turned to Gude and asked, "If we were to only make a body that big, would it take less time?"

"Of course, creating a body the size of a little girl would definitely take a lot less time compared to creating one the size of Kuya’s." Gude replied.

"Then let’s stop wasting time, let’s start immediately!" Biting her teeth, Nightingale decided to proceed with creating a body the size of a little girl’s.

The procedure was different from Kuya’s. Kuya’s body was prepared beforehand, then the soul was instilled. But because of the existence of receptacles, Fulajie’er’s soul could be instilled first, then the body could be developed, in order to reduce rejection.

Upon hearing her words, Gude immediately inserted the container holding Fulajie’er’s soul into the device’s slot. As he said, this device and the whole contraption were actually one, both relics of the Ancestors. When Derexia was hunted down, she took away almost all of the receptacles, causing the Theron’s research to have to take a detour.

"Good, insert the relevant modules, start infusing magic crystal energy!" Gude commanded while operating the device.

At his command, Nightingale and the others inserted the rune modules specifically designed for Fulajie’er into the corresponding slots. The modules were instantly activated, and the runes on them emitted a faint glow.

"Body, head, arms, legs, clothing... adjusting power, activating atmospheric magic absorption component... magic casting component initiated..." Gude voiced out every operation he performed.

Under his operations, a familiar, petite figure slowly appeared above the device. Due to her small stature, she didn’t need to emerge through the building. However, the figure before them was but a soulless shell. The real Fulajie’er was still sleeping in the container.

This body was made entirely of faint light, and her hair was dazzling white. She was quietly closing her eyes, floating in mid-air. Her tranquil and soothing beauty was captivating to everyone who saw her.

"Damn, we’re running out of magic power! Quickly activate the container and inject the soul!" Gude suddenly said anxiously, while speeding up his controls.

Tangmo glanced at the magic crystal and found that it, which had supplied power, had become almost transparent, without a hint of color – the energy within was about to be depleted.

"Can it work, didn’t you say it wouldn’t be a problem?" Nightingale rushed forward anxiously to ask.

"Well, theoretically it should work, but there seems to be some deviation in the calculations..." Gude wiped the sweat off his forehead before hurriedly answering.

As he activated the container that sealed Fulajie’er’s body, the spirit before them slowly opened her eyes. Like a newborn baby, she looked curiously at each person with her pristine eyes.

"Fula..." Nightingale stared at Fulajie’er, unable to help herself, and her shout was stifled by her hand over her mouth.

"Sister, we meet again." Fulajie’er showed a tranquil smile.

"Damn, we’re completely out of magic power!" Gude suddenly exclaimed at this time.

"Can we use atmospheric magic to infuse it?" Tangmo, clutching his magic wand, ran over to ask.

"No, it must be the magic power of the magic crystal," Gude replied without looking up.

"I warn you, if Fulajie’er can’t be resurrected, you won’t live either!" Nightingale, agitated out of sisterly love, suddenly pulled out a magic crystal gun and furiously held it up to Gude’s temple.

"That’s unnecessary. By slightly adjusting the output direction, we should get a good conclusion," Gude muttered to himself while adjusting the input power of the body’s autonomous ability.

Suddenly, the energy source of the magic crystal was cut off, and the glow on the entire device disappeared instantly. Fulajie’er, who had just been hovering mid-air, also disappeared, leaving only a gloomy and enormous device.

"Fula!" Nightingale shouted, her eyes wide open. Her body then fell to the ground, collapsing in weakness.

"What happened to Fula?" Tangmo asked Gude, his eyes fixed on him.

"Don’t worry, she hasn’t disappeared!" Saying that, Gude removed the container from the device. Afterwards, he opened the sliding lid of the container and Fulajie’er’s body again appeared in mid-air. Now, her body wasn’t as rigid as before; instead, it had become much more flexible.

"Fula!" Nightingale, seeing this, rushed up in her excitement. Yet, she went right through Fulajie’er’s body, lunging into empty space.

"What..." Tangmo stared at her, his eyes wide in surprise.

"This is already the best possible solution," Gude swallowed, then timidly explained holding the container, "By all means, Fulajie’er’s soul must fully appear to become an autonomous body. But due to insufficient magic power, we can’t achieve that for now. So, I accelerated the rate of Fulajie’er’s soul guidance, allowing most of her soul to attach to this body. While she still needs this container as an object to restrain her soul, she can appear in spirit form as long as the lid is open."

"What does that mean?" Tangmo asked.

"Although Fula can become a god, she still needs to rely on that container as a substitute for her body to prevent her soul from scattering. That is to say, Fula can perform most operations of a god, but she still needs the restraint of the container and can’t freely exist in the atmosphere." Baiyue, who had been silent until then, walked forward and explained coldly.

"Oh, yes, yes, the girl is right!" Gude quickly nodded in agreement.

"Considering the cost, it is rather too high..." Tangmo looked at Fulajie’er, who had turned into a spirit, and couldn’t help sighing. She didn’t resurrect after all, nor did she become a god. Instead, she became neither here nor there.
