Chapter 459: Chapter 452: Little Chili_1
The group continued on, travelling along a road strewn with dried leaves. Nina thought, since they managed to avoid inspections by following these rules, they might as well head directly into the city to rest, rather than camping out in the wilds every time.
Most of Ilanadale is primal forest, camping here demands considerable courage. It would be better to rest in the city. Since Nina decided to reclaim her princess status, it would certainly make their lives a bit easier.
"Mother, do you not want me anymore?" On the way, Luoya who had been brooding for a long time finally blurted out.
At her words, Nina was taken aback. She forgot Luoya understood Elvish, thereby her conversation with Captain Millie may have been overheard by her.
She looked at Luoya, who stared back with wide eyes, red-rimmed and filled with unshed tears, appearing on the verge of crying.
"Of course not, but no matter what, Earth is also your home, there you have your..." said Nina.
"I don’t care, I don’t want to go anywhere, I just need my mother." Luoya interrupted Nina’s words as she cried.
"Stop it, your father is still waiting for you there." Nina said with a frown.
"Father..." The word made Tangmo next to them change color, he quickly turned away, not letting the mother and daughter see his expression. They probably didn’t know that Luoya’s father had passed away over twenty years ago. In tacit agreement, nobody in the advance team dared to mention Luo Chuan’s death to them, fearing it would upset them.
"I don’t want any father!" Luoya turned her face away, stating stubbornly.
Hearing her words, Nina’s face changed instantly, scolding her loudly, "What are you talking about, what do you mean you don’t want a father? Do you know we were waiting eagerly for over twenty years, just for his return."
"But he never came back!" Luoya retorted stubbornly.
"If you had listened to me, we would already be reunited with your brother." Nina, with her face flushed with anger, was breathing heavily. Seeing this, Tangmo moved swiftly to Nina’s side, patting her back gently, signaling her to pause.
"How would I know, I thought he was a member of the Church Court, Theron’s enemy, how could I..." Luoya was still arguing hard.
"Theron, Theron, I have warned you not to join Theron; you’re not from Theron, why do you have to meddle in their affairs with the Church Court!" Nina blurted angrily.
Seeing Nina’s outrage, Luoya shrunk back into the corner afraid, but still wouldn’t hold back her words, "I am a citizen of the Ancient States, I should naturally join Theron. Why do you always oppose my actions, though the Ancient States did so much for us, you never show gratitude...
"The Ancient States provided us with land, and we paid them taxes, it was a transaction. How can you think the Ancient States saved us? Don’t forget, it was me who raised you." Nina breathed rapidly, tears falling drop by drop, "I was waiting anxiously for the day our family would reunite, and then you...you killed your own brother.... that was your real brother, how could you do something like that?
"But he did not die, did he?" Luoya glanced dismissively at the sleeping Luo’er and retorted.
Her attitude infuriated Nina; she abandoned the supposed elegance of elves. She suddenly leapt up to hit Luoya. Thankfully, Tangmo, who was used to frequent training, stopped her in time.
"Say that again! Say it again!" Nina yelled, hoarse from shouting. Struggling to get to Luoya, she was held back strongly by Tangmo. Sensing something was wrong, Baiyue also stopped driving, rushing in to hold Nina back.
"Why are you so fierce? Did I say something wrong?" Luoya huddled in the corner wiping her tears, a look of grievance on her face.
"Get out of my sight! I don’t want to see you anymore!" Nina yelled while struggling.
"Fine, I’ll leave, is that okay?" Luoya shot one last look at Luo’er before storming off the cart in a huff.
She felt, ever since Luo’er appeared, Nina shifted all of her love to him. Even though Luo’er was her brother, such a tremendous shift made her feel hurt.
Seeing Luo Ya jumping out of the carriage, Tang Mo stopped thinking about everything else verbally instructing Bai Yue, "Hold onto Auntie!" and quickly pushed open the carriage curtain.
"Ziang, don’t let her go!" As she opened the curtains, she saw both Hu Daoke and Cheng Ziang looking confused, so she ordered Cheng Ziang.
"I got it." Cheng Ziang nodded, vaguely aware of what was happening, so he handed over his gun to Hu Daoke and went after Luoya himself.
Luo Ya didn’t get far, walking less than ten meters before being firmly grabbed by Cheng Ziang. She tried to strike Cheng Ziang but a simple joint twist made her obedient.
"Let me go!" Luo Ya’s eyes were red as she cried out in pain.
"Why do you hit people when you see them?" Cheng Ziang looked at her and coldly asked.
"It’s none of your business, let me go now!" Luo Ya retorted bluntly.
"You come here!" Cheng Ziang yanked hard, pulling Luo Ya towards him involuntarily.
"Listen to me," Cheng Ziang looked at her, speaking in a stern tone, "You can’t go anywhere, just obediently follow us."
"Why? Who are you!" Luo Ya defied and shouted.
"Why, I’ll tell you why," Cheng Ziang paused before continuing, "You’ve been handed over to the headquarters by your mother. I’m the captain of the Advance Team that belongs to the headquarters, so you have to listen to me. This is official. Your brother Luo’er is my friend, your grandfather General Luo Qishan is my principal, as your brother’s friend and your grandfather’s student, I’m entitled to manage you. That is personal!"
"I don’t care about such formalities, let me go or I’ll bite you!" Luo Ya threatened with gritted teeth.
"Sure, you can bite if you want to. Oh, I forgot to tell you, I haven’t showered for several days and I used this hand to wipe my bum when I went to the toilet just now, so if you don’t mind, feel free to bite," Cheng Ziang said.
After hearing his words, a disgusted expression appeared on Luo Ya’s face. Cheng Ziang ignored her and while she was still recoiling, he pulled her back to the side of the carriage. He then had a brief discussion with Tang Mo, took out a pair of handcuffs from a bag on the carriage, and handcuffed his left hand to Luo Ya’s right hand.
"What are you doing?" Luo Ya resisted, frowning intensely; she was close to biting him.
"It’s made of steel, stop struggling." Cheng Ziang shrugged, letting her resistance flow.
"What are you trying to do?" Luo Ya struggled for a while, her wrist was reddening from the handcuff. With her eyes red and panting, she asked him accusingly.
"Just dutifully follow our instructions and don’t resist. Luckily, you are Luo’er’s sister, otherwise, your teeth would have been broken by me," Cheng Ziang turned his head and said with a stoic face.
"Ah ha, this situation is rather interesting." Hu Daoke scratched his nose, his face showing a subtle smile.
Cheng Ziang glanced at him, almost laughed along, but eventually managed to suppress it. To maintain his aloof demeanor, he kicked at Hu Daoke in a show of authority, however, Hu Daoke dodged it.
After struggling for a bit, Luo Ya finally gave up. She realized that unless either her arm or Cheng Ziang’s arm was severed, she wouldn’t be able to escape the handcuffs.
She stopped resisting and followed behind Cheng Ziang with red eyes, looking like a sulky young wife. Cheng Ziang glanced at her, shaking his head. He didn’t expect that this young lady could be so hot-tempered and reckless. No doubt she could kill her own brother, there was no room for doubt in that.
Although he didn’t know Luo Chuan’s personality, once he met Nina, Cheng Ziang understood that Luo’er could be so gentle and understanding only because he had inherited his mother’s traits. However, it was unfortunate that although Luo Ya was also Nina’s child, she didn’t seem to have inherited much of Nina’s characteristics.
