Chapter 421 - 414: Cheng Ziang’s Interest

Chapter 421: Chapter 414: Cheng Ziang’s Interest

The next day, the group continued their training as usual. Besides firearms training, Cheng Ziang had another task, which was to learn sword skills from Yalunte.

"Listen here, my apprentice, I might be leaving soon, so this is probably my last time teaching you sword techniques. Spend this month learning diligently, and try to master at least seventy to eighty percent of my skills," said Yalunte on the training ground, withdrawing his practice steel long sword and placing it on the ground.

"You’re leaving, where to?" At the news of Yalunte’s departure, Cheng Ziang became anxious.

"Ah, well, I too have my own matters to attend to, I can’t always be attached to you all, can I?" Yalunte laughed.

"What matters, hasn’t the headquarters tasked you with accompanying us on our mission?" Cheng Ziang asked with a furrowed brow.

"I would be of greater use alone than tagging along with you all, I have to do more tasks for the headquarters, otherwise..." Yalunte looked at Cheng Ziang and stopped speaking.

"Otherwise what, what will they do to you?" Cheng Ziang asked anxiously.

"Calm down, they won’t do anything to me," Perhaps realizing Cheng Ziang misunderstood his words, Yalunte waved his hand and smiled, "How do I put it, the headquarters have done me a favor, and I must reciprocate. I don’t want to be forever in their debt."

"What did they do for you?" Cheng Ziang pressed.

"Can you stop with the incessant questioning?" Yalunte said helplessly.

"I want to know!" Cheng Ziang declared seriously.

"Well..." Yalunte pondered, then said, "Years ago they helped me. Even though they couldn’t save the princess, I still owe them a favor."

"Can’t you repay an old debt in over twenty years?" Cheng Ziang asked.

"There are other things!" Yalunte said, scratching his head.

"What other things?" Cheng Ziang continued his line of questioning.

"Can we drop this topic here? It’s not like I’m gone forever. I just want to take a break and clear my head." Yalunte said helplessly.

"Why didn’t you just say so, you made it sound like a life or death scenario." Cheng Ziang snapped at him.

"What, are you going to miss me?" Yalunte asked.

"What do you mean miss you," Cheng Ziang looked at him with disdain and muttered, "You haven’t even finished teaching me all the sword techniques yet, don’t think you can just run off."

Even though Cheng Ziang said this, deep down he would indeed miss Yalunte. Since their last encounter, they had spent three months together, and the Advance Team had long considered Yalunte as one of their own.

"Quit the jibber-jabber, let’s get started." Yalunte declared, pulling out his long sword from the ground and struck a pose.

"Again it’s me defending and you attacking. Remember, employ lethal sword techniques against me, after all, this weapon can’t kill." Yalunte gestured.

"Be careful then, if it hits your face, there’ll be teeth scattered all over the place." Cheng Ziang raised his long sword as he spoke.

"Let’s see if you can land a hit first, bragging isn’t a good trait you know." Yalunte laughed.

Cheng Ziang suddenly flashed forward, his long sword lunging lightning-fast at Yalunte’s throat, only to be quickly deflected. Ziang nearly lost grip of his sword due to the brute strength of Yalunte’s defense.

"Too slow, and your attack target is far too obvious!" Yalunte shook his head.

Cheng Ziang gritted his teeth, suddenly dropped low, his long sword swiftly swiped at Yalunte’s feet. Yalunte surmised his intention and hopped back to evade the attack.

However, Cheng Ziang swiftly changed his attacking posture and once again aimed his sword at Yalunte’s throat. Yalunte, just landing, had no way of dodging this attack.

Seeing his attack about to succeed, a hint of a smile appeared on Cheng Ziang’s face, but he didn’t celebrate prematurely.

Instantly, a corner of the room came into focus. Luo’er had changed into a maid’s uniform he had just borrowed. It was a maid’s costume of the Otherworld style. Though termed as a maid’s costume, it would be better described as a housemaid’s dress. It was similar to the British style, long skirt and sleeves, but the Otherworld style maid’s dress looked quite antique.

Luo’er’s outfit was mostly black and white, and after tightening the belt, it seemed to fit pretty well. Looking at himself in the full-length mirror, Luo’er’s ears began to heat up.

It had to be said, he looked quite pretty dressed as a woman, after all, his mother’s genes were evident. Luo’er’s father, Luo Chuan was a Southerner, so his facial features weren’t too masculine. Coupled with a lot of his mother’s genes, it made him look rather soft. After putting on the maid outfit, he saw himself in the mirror and temporarily forgot his own gender.

Since he had already worn the costume, might as well make it look better. With this thought in mind, Luo’er continued to tweak his makeup. After crossing the line once, wearing women’s clothing didn’t seem too off-putting.

His black hair was already long. With a little grooming and a headband, he looked like a spirited maid with short hair. Then, he found a collar with a bell on it and put it on his neck. It was said that local maids used it to train their stillness. As long as they moved slightly, the bell would ring.

He looked at himself in the mirror. His dark green pupils were always captivating, particularly to Earthlings who had never seen an elf before.

As he left the room, a mercenary who happened to pass by was stunned. He had been living here for so long and had no idea when such a beautiful maid had arrived.

Facing the burning gaze, Luo’er hurriedly left to avoid being taken into his room for wrestling practice.

Arriving at the training ground, everyone was vigorously training. The bell around Luo’er’s neck kept ringing. As soon as he moved slightly, it made a constant jingling sound.

"Oh, our maid has arrived!" The moment Cheng Ziang, who was in the middle of training, saw Luo’er, he immediately stopped and said cheerfully.

"Are you satisfied now?" Luo’er sighed and said helplessly.

"Don’t act like I forced you, you like it too." Cheng Ziang laughed and said.

"Not at all, I wouldn’t do it if you weren’t the captain!" Luo’er rolled his eyes and said.

"Alas, it’s great to be the captain. Maybe I should apply to headquarters to be the captain." Cheng Ziang joked.

"Next time I won’t let you be the captain unless I’m unable to fulfill my captain’s duties, I won’t let you mess things up again!" Luo’er glared at him and said.

"Boss, let me comfort you!" Hu Daoke suddenly appeared from behind and hugged Luo’er. His build was bulky, and holding Luo’er was like holding a chick.

"What do you think I am?" Feeling his feet off the ground, Luo’er shouted anxiously.

"I’m about to die from doing math problems!" Hu Daoke said, pressing against Luo’er’s chest, and sniveled.

"Ah, really can’t handle you..." Luo’er said, consolingly rubbing his head.

Though Luo’er was a head shorter than Hu Daoke, as an elder, he still exuded authority. Besides, thanks to his good temper, everyone liked to lean on him.

"Luo’er, I want a hug, too!" Tangmo, from nowhere, raised her hands and shouted.

She was wearing a tactical vest with magazines all over her body and a rifle on her shoulder. Seeing Luo’er, she rushed over excitedly.

"Wait wait wait, is your gun on safety?" Luo’er instinctively stepped back and asked as he saw her rushing over.

"It is, Luo’er, are you despising me!" Tangmo pouted as she spoke.

"I’m just worried about a misfire!" Luo’er said honestly.

"Our Luo’er is even prettier in women’s clothes!" Tangmo laughed, pushed Hu Daoke away, and hugged Luo’er.

"What are you talking about, I was forced by you guys." Luo’er sighed softly.

"Luo’er, are you feeling better?" Cheng Ziang suddenly remembered something and asked proactively.

"I’ve been fine for a while, you insisted I rest!" Luo’er looked at him, complaining.

"Who knows if you’re really fine, you’re used to lying, making us not trust you." Cheng Ziang frowned and said.

"When did I lie?" Luo’er asked.

"I won’t mention it anymore, you have let us down, you never tell the truth about yourself!" Cheng Ziang spread his hands.

"You’re overcorrecting, I’m already fine, but you’re still insisting I rest." Luo’er didn’t dare to refute Cheng Ziang’s words.

"Stop talking, just obediently continue pretending to be a maid for us. As long as I’m the captain, I won’t let you participate in training!" The words of Cheng Ziang squashed Luo’er’s idea.
