Chapter 314: Chapter 307: Personality Regression
Momo is a deviant woman, her possessiveness and envy stronger than anyone else’s. What she cannot obtain, she will destroy ruthlessly rather than let others have it. This is exactly why she is so desperately trying to kill Luo’er; at the very least, she wants to maim him. That way, even if Moumou gets Luo’er back, he will only be an imperfect Luo’er.
Luo’er’s body fiercely twisted, throwing Tangmo, who was riding atop him, to one side. While being beaten, he had already grasped the dagger, inserting it between his hands. Struggling to sit up; he then forcefully slid the dagger. Instantly, the sharp dagger severed several ropes and bindings, his hands weren’t completely free yet, but he had created just enough space for manoeuvring.
Tangmo struggled to rise from the ground and roared as she hurled herself towards Luo’er again, trying to restrain him once more. Just at the brink of disaster, Luo’er finally cut through the ropes binding his hands. He promptly placed his hands on the ground, then he bent his tightly bound legs, and as Tangmo drew near, he struck her with a powerful kick. Both feet hitting her chest, instantly knocking her backward onto the ground.
Though Tangmo had been taken over by another Momo, she was small in stature and weak in strength. Even switching personalities couldn’t break through her body’s limits. So, even if she wants to fight Luo’er, her weakness is all too apparent. When it came down to a real fight, she simply wouldn’t be a match for Luo’er, that’s not even considering that her martial skill isn’t as good as his.
Seizing this opportunity, Luo’er hurriedly sat back up, ignoring the numbness in his arms, he picked up the dagger and cut through the ropes binding his legs. With that, he was finally free from Tangmo’s restraints.
Luo’er painfully rubbed his legs that showed signs of being bound. He then managed to stay steady by leaning against a tree to stand up. There was no room for complacency at this time, even though he could easily take this opportunity to escape from Tangmo’s threat. However, he couldn’t abandon Tangmo no matter what, so his liberation was not for escape, but to subdue her and find a way to awaken the other her.
"Moumou, please, wake up!" Luo’er pleaded.
At this moment, Tangmo had finally managed to get up from the ground. She glared at Luo’er with hate-filled eyes, not paying any heed to his words.
Raising her right hand, she tightly gripped a slender backup magic wand. Then, her mouth began to move, as she started to recite spells.
Luo’er didn’t have any time to react; a sudden force exploded in front of his chest as if something had detonated in the air. The impact immediately knocked him down and propelled him backward.
He rolled around on the ground embarrassingly; he then started clutching his chest, his face turning deathly pale. The intense pain contorted his face, he couldn’t help but scream, but due to the overwhelming pain, he couldn’t shout properly. He could only helplessly struggle, trying to alleviate the severe chest pain.
"I almost forgot, your body has already been damaged by magic and simply can’t withstand magical attacks." Seeing her successful strike, Tangmo revealed a savage smile. Even though she had been pushed to a miserable state by Luo’er, she still felt elated seeing him writhe in pain on the ground.
What she used was simply a Level 1 pinpoint explosion magic, gathering its magical power to explode at one point. This type of attack didn’t pose any threat to those mages with high magic affinity, but it was not the same for Luo’er. The sudden expansion of magic power could instantly overload his already unhealed body’s magic circulation network, resulting in outburst damage.
Besides, for a magical prodigy like herself, Level 1 magic required practically no casting time and could be considered an instant cast. Precisely because of this, Luo’er was caught off guard, directly taking one of her magical strikes.
Luo’er took deep breaths as he gazed at Tangmo. His face turned increasingly pale, his complexion draining of blood visibly. The intense pain had almost depleted all his strength, leaving him without any energy to struggle. He helplessly watched her, even his eyes appearing weak.
Suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood. Blood also began pouring from his nose, indicating that the overloading of magic power had caused his internal blood vessels to rupture.
Seeing the fresh blood flowing from Luo’er, Tangmo suddenly froze. She numbly stared at the fainting Luo’er, the erupting blood seemingly stirred up her deepest memories that she least wanted to resurface. She felt a splitting headache and instinctively clasped both hands around her head, screaming in agony.
Tangmo lowered her head as her eyes widened, gritting her teeth and continuously gasping for breath. Her drool seemed to spray out from between her teeth. It seemed like she was beginning to lose control of herself. The original Moumou was waking up, bitterly contesting for control of the body.
"Don’t think about coming out. I will never let you, a weakling, control this body again!" Tangmo crouched, clutching her head and let out a shrill scream.
Enduring the pain, she picked up the magic wand that had dropped to the ground and pointed at Luo’er, yelling through clenched teeth, "Die, since you care so much for him, I’ll let him die!"
She opened her mouth ready to cast a spell, but her head started throbbing in pain again, she couldn’t get the words of the spell out no matter how hard she tried. The magic wand in her hand was clutched so tightly that it seemed ready to snap. Her other hand was clutching her head so tightly, her nails were almost piercing her scalp.
She tensed up all over, lowering her head as her body curled in, like a giant prawn, a frantic growl reverberating from her throat. The sound from within was truly terrifying.
At this point, Luo’er had also recovered from the severe pain. He lifted his head weakly, looking at Tangmo who was frantically beating her own head. By now, he had almost lost the strength to speak, appearing drowsy and was on the verge of fainting.
After several hard hits to her own head, Tangmo finally regained her composure, no longer disturbed by another consciousness. Seizing this opportunity, she gasped for air, raised her magic wand again, and prepared to cast magic to end Luo’er’s life once and for all.
Just as she was aiming the wand at Luo’er and hadn’t yet started to chant her spells, a tall figure suddenly shot out from the jungle. She heard the clear sound of metal unsheathing, followed by a cold gleam directed at the hand holding her wand.
The person was Yalunte, who had been hiding in the bushes for a long time, seeing that Luo’er was about to give up, he hurriedly jumped out to stop Tangmo’s attack.
Yalunte exhibited his swift and precise sword skills again. His sword tip scraped against Tangmo’s hand, into her palm, then with its point, knocked away the wand in her hand. The wand was instantly sent flying by his sword.
Following that, he turned his sword, with the blade stretching open Tangmo’s palm. She cried out in pain; her palm and fingers showed shallow wounds. Though there was not much blood, it had clearly cut into her flesh.
After knocking out the wand from her hand, Yalunte swiftly reassessed her, confirmed that she had no other immediate weapon, then swiftly flipped his sword, hitting her raised arm with the flat of the blade. Tangmo cried out in pain, and her arm dropped.
After forcing her arm down, Yalunte thrust his sword forward, with the sharp blade pressing against her throat. He would only need a slight exertion to cut open Tangmo’s throat.
"Don’t... don’t hurt her..." Seeing this, Luo’er, who was lying on the ground, mustered his last strength, raising his hand and shouting aloud.
Yalunte glanced at him, then turned back to Tangmo, and removed the sword from her throat. Not that he was obeying Luo’er, but he understood that this consciousness is an extreme one, a person who disregards life and death. Therefore, he couldn’t guarantee what extreme actions Tangmo might take.
If she lunged forward onto his sword and committed suicide, then he would find himself in an indefensible position.
Although he didn’t directly press the blade against her neck to threaten her, Yalunte did not relax his vigilance immediately; instead, he retreated a few steps, keeping his sword pointed at her. If Tangmo made any movement, he would strike again.
"Are you alright, little elf?" Yalunte fixed his gaze on Tangmo, and asked without looking back.
"I..." Luo’er had not finished speaking when he began coughing violently again, accompanied by a large amount of fresh blood vomited onto the ground. He couldn’t even finish his sentence before he collapsed into a pool of blood.
"Luo, Luo, Luo..." Seeing this, Tangmo’s body began to shake uncontrollably. Her expression also started to change. She opened her mouth, trying to utter a complete sentence but failed to articulate.
She collapsed to her knees, clutching her hair tightly, turning her smooth, dark red hair into a mess. Two trails of tears streamed down her stunned face, her eyes wide with tears of grief.
Suddenly, she screamed in utter desolation while clutching her head against the ground, her sobs becoming more audible with every cry.
"Luo’er, Luo’er... Luo’er Ahhhh.... Ahhhhhhh!!!" Tangmo let out a heart-broken cry, seemingly like a new cycle, the old Moumou was finally back.
"Luo’er, Luo’er...." Tangmo, crying out Luo’er’s name, crawled to his side on all fours, then strenuously pulled him up from the pool of blood and held him in her arms.
She wiped the already sticky blood from Luo’er’s face with her hand. Tears fell as she was too grief-stricken to speak. Luo’er opened his eyes slightly, seeing her like this, a weak smile appeared on his face and he said in a weak voice, "Moumou, welcome back..."
Not only were Tangmo’s eyes filled with tears, but also deep guilt. Her mouth opened and closed, but she couldn’t utter a word. Seeing Luo’er’s eyes slowly closing, she couldn’t control herself any longer. She held him tightly in her arms and began to sob hysterically.
