Chapter 310: Chapter 303: Morbid Entanglement
Luo’er stared at her blankly. Tangmo squinted slightly, her curved eyes accompanied by long and thick eyelashes, giving her a captivating gaze. But every time Luo’er saw her crazed, pathological eyes, he couldn’t help but shudder. Unlike his usual calm demeanor, he was truly frightened this time.
All was eerily familiar, reminding him of a dream he once had. It is said that dreams often foretell the future, and the current situation was alarmingly similar to that in his dream.
It seems that from that time on, his dreams had been warning him of Tangmo’s changes. But Tangmo had not changed at that time, so he shrugged off the dream as insignificant.
"Are you scared?" Tangmo seemed to sense Luo’er’s changes. She leaned against his chest, feeling his heartbeat. Hearing Luo’er’s speeding heart rate, she smirked triumphantly.
"I always thought you were a calm person," Tangmo confidently said as she removed herself from his chest, tilted her head, and grinned.
"If you’re not Moumou, what is your real name?" Luo’er calmly asked. He knew that those with multiple personality disorder often had their own names, personalities, and even experiences for each personality.
"Hmm," Tangmo put a finger to her lips as if lost in thought, and then said, "I haven’t given that any consideration, but I can’t keep using her name..."
"Right!" Suddenly she had an epiphany, then laughed, "Call me Momo then, you know, like bubbles!
"If you’re not Moumou, why do you use a name that rhymes with hers?" Luo’er said, looking at her.
"Because what’s hers is mine and what’s mine is hers; we are one and the same person!" Tangmo tilted her head, grinning at him.
"I’m curious, you’re clearly not Tangmo, why do you cling to me like this? Don’t you have anyone you like?" Luo’er turned his head, avoiding eye contact with her, afraid that his intentions would be perceived.
If this person in front of him was not Tangmo, then his safety had nowhere to be guaranteed. Unlike the previous Tangmo, the current one was a sinister and ruthless woman. Even Luo’er was not entirely sure that she wouldn’t harm him.
"Because I like you too, you’re such a cute, handsome boy. I want to squeeze you dead in the palm of my hand." Tangmo said, giving a morbid grin.
As she spoke, she constantly ran her fingers on Luo’er’s body. When she came to the exciting parts, she gripped hold of his flesh so tight, as though she wished to tear it off his body.
"Luo’er..." Tangmo gently called his name, then cradled his face in both hands, gradually moving closer.
Luo’er instinctively turned his face away, angering Tangmo. She transformed her palm into a claw, scratching fiercely at his facial skin as if she could sink her sharp nails into his cheeks, leaving deep claw marks.
"Your first kiss was not with me, right?" Tangmo glared at him, coldly questioning.
"I don’t know what you are talking about!" Luo’er faltered at first, but quickly thought about the incident at the lake bottom that day, turned his head guiltily away.
"But of course, that bitch Baiyue. She looks so harmless, I didn’t expect her to strike first!" Tangmo trembled all over, her face displaying a grim smile, yet her teeth grinding harshly together.
"I should have found an opportunity to kill her back then!" Tangmo spat out bitterly.
"Are you really so jealous that you’d want to kill everyone who tries to get close to me?" Luo’er couldn’t help but say.
"Luo’er, you listen to me. All of this began because of you," Tangmo said, suddenly grabbing Luo’er’s hair and pulling him closer. Their noses were touching. She spat out hatefully, "It’s all because you like to flirt around that brings so much trouble. Since you are mine, you shouldn’t be making eyes at other girls. As my possession, don’t you have any self-awareness at all?!"
Enduring the pain from his hair being yanked, Luo’er squinted and retorted: "I am not your possession, nor have I been fooling around. I’m just doing what I should be doing, not being your slave!"
"Still arguing back," Tangmo gritted her teeth looking at him, then viciously said, "It seems that all these issues are caused by your pretty face. Let me etch it into my mind, then destroy it. Only I’ll know how handsome you were. Then, you’ll be a real ugly creature, unable to hook up with any other women."
As Tangmo spoke, she could not help but let out a malicious laugh, "Don’t worry, I won’t abandon you because of your appearance. At that time, you will belong to only me, because only I will accept you. Then, you will never be able to leave me again!"
As she spoke, she became more agitated, her fingers digging deeply into Luo’er’s flesh, almost tearing his face into a grotesque shape.
Luo’er had no intention of being a submissive lamb. He struggled forcefully, breaking free from her devilish grasp. He glared at Tangmo, enduring the pain on his face and said solemnly, "I won’t let you butcher me. If you try to hurt me, I will resist to the end. I may fear death, but I don’t fear you!"
Seeing Luo’er break free, Tangmo did not get angry. Instead, she revealed a cold smile.
"Interesting," she sneered, "I thought you would willingly submit to me. It seems you still have the spirit to resist. But that’s okay, resistance is futile, it will only make me more excited."
As she spoke, she moved closer to Luo’er’s ear and whispered, "You’d better resist as much as you can during this time, because once you lose your arms and legs, you won’t have a chance. But then again, I’d lose some of my fun."
Luo’er gasped for breath, his mind in chaos, unable to think of a better way to escape from her. At this moment, he was truly panicked. Tangmo had completely changed, and his life was no longer safe. Given the current situation, he could either wait for others to save him, or try to remind her of the Tangmo she used to be. Otherwise, there was no way he could escape his imminent fate.
Tangmo was still staring at him, but her powerful aura was so oppressive that Luo’er could barely breathe.
Laying on the ground, Luo’er had his hands fully tied behind his back, while Tangmo was tying his legs together, not giving him a chance to escape. Luo’er dared not resist Tangmo’s actions, because a dagger was stuck in the mud beside his feet. If he showed any resistance, Tangmo would definitely pick up the dagger and stab it into his thigh. Although she could heal the wound with magic and not necessarily kill him, being stabbed was not a pleasant experience.
Meanwhile, Cheng Ziang and the others were still chasing the markers left by Yalunte. Without horses to aid them, their speed was slow. As twilight descended, they still didn’t give up their journey.
"I say, let’s take a break!" Feliz was the first one who couldn’t keep up any longer, bending over panting and suggesting to them.
Cheng Ziang and Baiyue gave each other a glance. Although it was important to continue their pursuit, the sky had already darkened and there was a forest ahead. Continuing their journey at this point would not be prudent.
Moreover, Luo’er and Tangmo had run off without carrying anything, Hu Daoke, who was in charge of carrying the goods, was dispatched to inform the Headquarters. Now these people had to transport their items themselves, or they would have to abandon them.
Considering this, both of them nodded their heads, agreeing to stop and rest for a bit. After all, Luo’er and Tangmo had Yalunte keeping an eye on them. This guy had always been reliable, with him around, Cheng Ziang wasn’t particularly worried about Luo’er.
Without Luo’er, they had to handle their own dinner. Fortunately, Baiyue had picked up some cooking skills from Luo’er. She silently prepared dinner for everyone. As her skills were not excellent, she simply threw canned food items into a pot and cooked them all together. They had this with hot rice - the simplest of dinners.
This was Feliz’s first time eating food from Earth, and while it had an indescribable taste, she was already so hungry that she could eat a horse. She wolfed down her dinner, not leaving a single scrap.
After eating, Feliz sat in front of the fire, her eyes fixed on Cheng Ziang’s face, accentuated by the fire’s glow.
"Why are you always looking at me?" Sensing her gaze, Cheng Ziang asked.
"You’re a companion of Luo’er’s, right?" Feliz asked boldly.
"Yes, what about it?" Cheng Ziang inquired in return.
"Nothing, just... why don’t any of you look like Otherworld dwellers?" Feliz asked genuinely, referring to people from Earth in her question.
After spending time with them, she had noticed that, besides Audrey, who was slightly different from the rest, the others didn’t resemble Earth people. Luo’er looked like an elf, Baiyue like a sub-beastman, and Cheng Ziang most directly so - he looked exactly like a Northern Aud, not like an Earthling at all. In fact, he was even slightly familiar looking.
"Have you met Otherworld dwellers before?" Cheng Ziang countered.
"I have," Feliz nodded, staring at him and frowning, "Though I’ve never met you before, you look familiar. I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve seen you often."
"When Luo’er and the others were in the academy, I was Miss Audrey’s housekeeper, Leon," Cheng Ziang replied.
"That’s not it," Feliz shook her head, then said with certainty, "I’m sure I haven’t met you before. But your looks are familiar, as if I’ve seen you regularly."
