Chapter 307: Chapter 300: Another Moumou
Tangmo used a nylon tie, and she bound it around the thumb; a location that was very difficult to break free from once bound.
"Moumou. What are you doing!" Realizing that something was wrong after being tied up, Luo’er called out in shock.
Ignoring his inquiries, Tangmo grabbed his arm and yanked him back, putting some distance between him and Feliz. Next, she took a pistol from Luo’er’s leg, pulled back the hammer, and prepared to shoot. In an outdoor alert, Luo’er’s weapons were always loaded.
Then, she disengaged the safety catch and aimed at Feliz. It was her second heinous murder without a hint of provocation. Her eyes were wide open, glaring violently and fanatically at Feliz as if she was her lifelong foe.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!" Tangmo pulled the trigger repeatedly, with deafening gunshots resonating in the air. Although Luo’er’s gun was a small caliber special pistol, it was hard for Feliz to resist the shooting at such close quarters. Additionally, Tangmo’s actions caught everyone off guard, leaving many people standing still, staring at her in shock.
Just when everyone thought Feliz was doomed, they suddenly felt a disturbance of magic in the air. Immediately after, an invisible barrier appeared in front of Feliz, unbelievably blocking Tangmo’s relentless gunshots at the critical moment.
While protecting her head, Feliz raised her magic wand to cast an instant-cast defense shield spell. It was one of the most readily castable instant spells for mages. The magic wand, given by Yalunte, managed to save her life. The bullets were deflected and disappeared into the nearby tree trunks and soil, causing tinkling sounds.
Seeing that her first strike was ineffective, Tangmo didn’t panic. Instead, she calmly discarded the gun and pulled out her magic wand from her waist, intending to launch a magic attack. Judging by her proficient movements, it was clear that she had planned this beforehand, prepared to kill Feliz.
Feliz was still a magic student and couldn’t react in time to change the type of shield. Her shield could only block tangible physical attacks, not intangible magic attacks. To withstand Tangmo’s attack, she had to convert her physical defense shield to a magic defense shield in a split second.
However, in face of Tangmo, who was a magical prodigy, Feliz’s spell casting seemed to be somewhat naïve. It’s worth noting that Tangmo was capable of casting magic instantly. Even if Feliz managed to change the shield type in an instant, she would be unable to withstand the attack. Both of them were casting magic at close distances, Tangmo could absorb all the magic around them in a split second, leaving Feliz powerless, and therefore weakening her defenses.
Just as Feliz was about to be killed on the spot, Yalunte stepped in at the critical moment. As the number one swordsman on the continent, his swordplay was not only precise but also swift.
All they heard was a loud sound as Yalunte drew his sword in a blink of an eye. He took a step forward, thrusting his sword into Tangmo’s tightly clutched fingers holding the magic wand, without causing her any harm.
Then, before Tangmo could even utter a spell, with a flick of his sword, Yalunte knocked the magic wand right out of her hand, performing a breathtaking disarmament.
Despite not knowing what had just happened, Yalunte did not harm the offensive Tangmo. At such a close distance, he could have pierced her throat with a simple sword thrust.
After her wand was knocked out, Tangmo initially panicked, then became furious. She grabbed Luo’er’s arm and held it in front of her. Then, she pulled out a sharp dagger from his waist and held it against his neck, shrieking wildly, "Don’t come any closer, or I’ll cut his throat!"
"Sister Moumou, have you lost your mind? This is hurting boss!" Hu Daoke took a step forward and shouted anxiously.
"I told you not to come closer, do you want him to die?" As he approached, Tangmo stepped back, screaming desperately. She pressed the dagger against Luo’er’s throat, drawing a thin line of blood.
Seeing this, Baiyue could not sit idle. She swiftly raised her sniper rifle, aiming at Tangmo.
"Lower your gun!" Cheng Ziang commanded calmly, noticing her movement.
"Drop your gun, if you shoot me dead, I’ll go down with Luo’er!" Tangmo shouted hysterically.
"Everyone, lower your weapons and back off!" With Luo’er in danger, it was only natural Cheng Ziang took the lead. He spread his hands out, signaling that they should avoid any rash actions that may provoke Tangmo.
"Moumou..." With Tangmo’s blade at his throat, Luo’er hardly dared to breathe, fearing he might slit his throat with the slightest movement.
"Convince Moumou not to do this; she will hurt the boss!" Hu Daoke looked at a loss and pleaded to Cheng Ziang. As the god-sister of Tangmo, watching her in such a state made Hu Daoke more anxious than anyone else.
Though Yalunte was unsure of what was going on, he wisely didn’t intervene. Nonetheless, he held onto Feliz’s arm, pulling her back. From Tangmo’s violent actions, he gathered that she was in earnest. If provoked, she would surely cut Luo’er’s throat without hesitation.
"Audrey, what’s... what’s wrong with her..." Feliz, who had narrowly escaped death, was curled up, her big eyes filled with terror as she looked at the crowd. If she remembered correctly, Tangmo was always rebellious and loved to rival with her but she was not the type to kill without reason.
"Moumou, what are you doing?" Luo’er caught his breath with difficulty, then asked nervously. He could feel it; Tangmo wasn’t joking around. Any little slip - she could slit his throat with her knife.
"First Baiyue, then Melia, now Feliz... Luo’er, you’re a heartbreaker. Love is monopolistic, it doesn’t allow for sharing, and I’m not going to share with anyone either. Rather than giving others the chance to possess you, I’d rather kill you right now. You can’t leave me then..." Tangmo said breathlessly, showing a vicious grin.
She glared insanely and hatefully at everyone, then hysterically shrieked, "No-one’s getting Luo’er, Luo’er’s mine... I... even if I killed him, even if I ate him, I won’t let him belong to anybody else!"
Everyone felt a chill down their spines as they heard Tangmo’s frenzied declarations. Cheng Ziang stared at her coolly, a word he’d long suspected crossed his mind - ’yandere’!
Obviously Tangmo’s desire to possess Luo’er had driven her mad. She was no longer satisfied with merely being with him. To her, whether Luo’er lived or died wasn’t important; as long as he stayed by her side, in any form.
Stimulated repeatedly, Tangmo finally revealed her possessive murderous intentions. She couldn’t stand Luo’er having even the slightest contact with other girls. Because such things made her feel as if she were about to be abandoned.
In her mind, she wouldn’t let anyone, anyone at all, possess Luo’er, not even a small piece of him. What she couldn’t monopolize, she wouldn’t share it - she wouldn’t back down an inch, even if it meant destruction.
After taking all factors and speculations into account, Cheng Ziang looked at Tangmo, and a sentence slipped from his mind instinctively, "That’s not Moumou!"
"What do you mean?" His words immediately aroused everyone’s shock. Hu Daoke couldn’t help but look at him, asking in confusion.
"I say she’s not Tangmo!" Cheng Ziang stared fixedly at Tangmo, then reaffirmed, "If she were Moumou, she would never hurt Luo’er."
"Sister Moumou?" Hu Daoke looks at Tangmo, hoping for her to respond.
Upon hearing Cheng Ziang’s statement, Tangmo showed an eerily cold smile and let out a hysterical laugh. She didn’t answer him, but by her silence, she admitted it.
"Ever since we found her in the woods that day, she hasn’t been Tangmo!" Cheng Ziang pointed to Tangmo and said.
"Then she..." Hu Daoke looked at him, completely puzzled.
"That waste Moumou, she only knew how to cry, only knew how to throw tantrums like a child. She even thought about sharing her love, it’s absurd!" Tangmo sneered.
Her words confirmed Cheng Ziang’s speculations. The person in front of them, indeed was not the Tangmo they knew.
"Who are you really?" Hu Daoke couldn’t help but angrily demand.
"Shut up!" Tangmo roared, the knife in her hand not relaxing at all, still pressed against Luo’er’s neck. His throat had already been cut open, and the blood seeping out stained his chest red.
"No one move, no one come over, or I’ll slice through Luo’er’s throat. Don’t think I won’t hurt him, I’m not the useless Moumou. As long as I can have Luo’er, I don’t care whether he’s dead or alive!" Tangmo threatened again.
"How did you know she’s not Sister Moumou?" Hu Daoke looked at Cheng Ziang and asked anxiously.
"Starting from when we got back from the woods, she began acting strange, but that’s not why I doubted her. The real reason I started suspecting her was because of the way she called Luo’er," Cheng Ziang stated coldly.
"Her calling him?" Hu Daoke looked at him, puzzled.
"You guys may not have noticed, but I did." Cheng Ziang replied, "When Tangmo used to refer to Luo’er, she would make the second character sound light, like ’Luò er’. But the current Moumou pronounces Luo’er with a third tone throughout, like ’Luǒ ěr’. Although these two pronunciations are similar, and you might not have noticed, I did."
"But aren’t these two titles pretty much the same?" Hu Daoke asked.
"Of course not. The original Moumou used that title to express her closeness to Luo’er, emphasising the relationship between her and Luo’er. But this Moumou, evidently, no longer needs to do so." Cheng Ziang said.
