Chapter 251: Chapter 244: Mingming Plan
Cheng Ziang gave him a sidelong glance and said, "I already understand the philosophy, so as a master, you should be teaching me swordsmanship, not philosophy!"
Somehow, facing Yalunte always gave Cheng Ziang a sense of inexplicable affinity. He wasn’t sure if it was because Luo’er had told him that Yalunte could possibly be his father. It seemed he had been influenced subconsciously to accept him as his father.
"Is swordsmanship not good to learn? What you lack is actual combat experience, and after a few battles, you will see a significant improvement. But we still have a mission right now, so let’s talk about it when we have time!" Yalunte said, continuing to hold up his wine cup.
Cheng Ziang exasperatedly shot him a glance, then turned to Luo’er and said, "Luo’er, send a message to Headquarters to find out when we can set out!"
"Oh!" Seeing his temper, Luo’er didn’t make any more comments. After agreeing, he summoned Tangmo to send a new messenger to the Headquarters.
Moving his sight back to the Headquarters, ever since Luo’er had sent Kali to the Headquarters base, Wang Xu’s daily work was very busy.
With the careful care of the staff at the Headquarters, Kali had gradually recovered over several days and her eyes were not as haggard. In order to look after her, Wang Xu had specifically dispatched a female employee from Earth to take care of Kali’s diet and daily life.
"Kali, are you awake?" A female voice came from the doorway, followed by a young woman in a white coat walking in.
She had black hair and dark pupils, drastically different from the Otherworld people. Her features are relatively flat, but very rounded. Seeing Kali sitting on the bed, she had a smile on her face.
"Sister!" Kali greeted her somewhat reservedly.
The woman sat down by Kali’s bed, then pinched her arm and frowned, "Hmm, still very thin, it looks like you need deworming!"
"Deworming?" Kali tilted her head, looking at her in confusion.
"Here, eat this!" The woman said. She handed several pills and a glass of water to Kali.
Kali was seeing a transparent glass for the first time, so she carefully took it, then swallowed the pills and slowly brought the glass up, drinking the cool water inside.
"Don’t worry, this glass is very hard!" The woman said with a laugh, taking the glass from her, showing it to her, and then placing it on the bedside table.
"Get up, it’s time to eat!" The woman said, pulling back the covers.
"Um, what should I do?" Kali stared blankly at her, asking cautiously.
"What should you do?" The woman asked in confusion.
"Um, if I don’t do something, I will be scared to eat!" Kali said timidly.
"Don’t worry, you’re helping us right now!" The woman said, patting her little head with a smile.
"I, help?" Kali tilted her head and asked in confusion.
"You will understand when the time comes. Come on, let’s go eat!" The woman said, picking Kali up from the bed.
"Su Qing, how is she doing now?" Wang Xu met the woman named Su Qing in the hallway after dinner, and he asked about Kali’s condition.
"She has taken her medicine, but it will take some time to work." Answered the women named Su Qing.
"Will she be able to handle the medicine?" Wang Xu asked with some concern.
"Of course she can. It’s specifically tailored to the Otherworld people by the research center." Su Qing replied as a matter of fact.
"That’s good, you need to hurry. The next phase of medication should be sent over soon!" Wang Xu said.
"Okay, I got it!" Su Qing nodded in response.
Their conversation was in Chinese, not Tasta language, so Kali didn’t know what they were talking about.
After instructing Su Qing, Wang Xu remained pensive, his eyes on her.
"What’s wrong, you look worried?" Su Qing asked in confusion.
"No, it’s not that. Can you take care of another girl?" Wang Xu said.
"What, you guys kidnapped another one?" Su Qing asked jokingly.
"No, I’m considering bringing Luo’er’s little girl back here!" Wang Xu said.
"Oh, Luo’er’s daughter?" Su Qing said in surprise.
"What daughter? He’s not even married yet!" Wang Xu shook his head in wry amusement.
"What, you want to include her in the plan too?" Su Qing asked.
"Of course not," Wang Xu shook his head, "that little girl has a brain injury, and since you guys are here, you might as well check her out."
"Then bring her on, whether it’s looking after one or two, it’s still looking after!" Su Qing waved her hand in dismissal.
"Then I’ll take care of it. You bring her back to the room!" Wang Xu said and hurriedly left them.
Watching Wang Xu’s retreating figure, Kali suddenly turned pale, feeling a piercing pain in her stomach. She couldn’t help but fall to her knees, clutching her stomach and whimpering.
"What’s wrong?" Seeing her condition, Su Qing asked anxiously.
"My, my stomach hurts!" Kali said, her forehead covered in cold sweat.
"Hmm, it seems the medicine has started working!" Upon hearing her words, Su Qing nodded and reassured her.
"Medicine?" Kali could barely speak at this point.
"Come on, I’ll take you to the restroom!" Su Qing said, picking up Kali and hurrying toward the toilet.
Once they reached the restroom, Su Qing did not leave. She put on a mask and stayed to help Kali. After Kali had finished, she looked down and her face went pale.
"Sis, sis there are, there are so many worms!" Kali stuttered, looking at Su Qing in terror.
"Hmm, it seems very effective," Su Qing nodded in satisfaction, then touched Kali’s head to comfort her, "These are the worms in your stomach. Medicine helps get rid of them!"
"There are worms in my stomach?" Kali asked, turning pale.
"Of course, it’s normal, but it’s all fine after we get rid of them!" Su Qing comforted her with a smile.
"I see," Kali nodded, visibly relieved. Then, she looked at Su Qing gratefully and said, "Thank you, sis!"
"You sure know how to show appreciation!" Su Qing laughed as she ruffled Kali’s hair.
After cleansing her stomach of parasites, Su Qing returned to Kali’s room with a syringe and a pile of drugs.
"Sis, what is this for?" Kali asked, gritting her teeth as the needle penetrated her arm.
"It’s called a vaccine!" Su Qing patiently explained.
"Vaccine?" It was the first time Kali had heard the term.
"Once you get a vaccine, you won’t get sick anymore!" Su Qing told her with a smile.
Although simplistic, the explanation was correct.
"Thank you, sister!" Kali said, her face filled with gratitude.
"How many times are you going to thank me?" Su Qing chuckled happily at Kali’s repeated thanks.
"Why do all of you treat me so well?" Kali couldn’t help but ask.
Su Qing smiled and pulled the needle out, then stroked her head, "You bear the hopes of a generation. If you succeed, children who share your fate will also be saved. That’s what you’re working for now!"
"Hope?" Kali stared wide-eyed at Su Qing, clearly puzzled.
"But pioneers always face the most danger. So, are you truly prepared for this, even if it means losing your life?" Su Qing asked gently.
"If it, if it could be useful to you, then losing my life would..." Kali hesitated, her voice falling silent. She wasn’t ready to face the prospect of death yet.
"It’s okay," Su Qing reassured her, "it’s just a possibility and not a certainty."
"In that case, I am willing. Because you helped me, I also want to repay you!" Kali said it with determination.
"Don’t worry, I’ll be with you all the way." Su Qing comforted her with a smile.
After several days of deworming and vaccination, Kali had completely transformed and no longer appeared frail as she was at the start.
Having confirmed her good health, Su Qing took her to Wang Xu’s office.
Wang Xu was swamped with work, having just received an inquiry from Luo’er. His advance team and informants were lured away by the Judgement Legion’s bait. Now, the Arya’s Blade’s location was unknown, and he had to rely on the Blaiqi people’s commercial intelligence network, paying a hefty price to find out where Arya’s Blade was. He regretted aligning the advance team with Yalunte.
"Kali is ready. We can proceed with the plan!" Su Qing said, holding Kali’s hand.
"Then prepare for the Otherworld Gate. Once everything’s ready, take the car and go!" Wang Xu said somewhat irritably.
"Ah, should I take that girl Yaning with us?" Su Qing asked him.
"Yaning..." Wang Xu was silent for a while, then lifted his head and said, "Bring her along. If possible, let the doctors at the research center check on her injury!"
"So, shall we wait?" Su Qing asked.
"Go ahead!" Wang Xu gives a nod.
Watching their retreating figures, Wang Xu fell into deep thought. Even though he was worried about the chaos in Saint Basaya, he couldn’t ignore this matter. If Kali succeeded, it would mean the end of the 24-year-long Origin Project ahead of schedule, replaced by the headquarters’ new plan, the Mingming Plan!
This plan would be an extension of the Origin Project and further expand the headquarters’ influence in the Otherworld, eventually controlling it. For them, this plan had an innate advantage. Compared to the Origin Project, the Mingming Plan was broader and more effective.
Wang Xu took out a pen and wrote a letter to be given to the people at the headquarters when Su Qing returned. They had already agreed to Wang Xu’s suggestion to expedite the Mingming Plan, but the plan still needed internal testing.
To get the Ministry of Defense’s approval, they needed to show results that demonstrated the plan’s feasibility. This way, the plan could be approved and implemented. Kali was the perfect candidate to prove the plan’s effectiveness.
