Chapter 1579: Chapter 1572: Qingqiu Fei Yu

"I don’t need you to tell me what to do!" Fulajie’er said irritably.

"Weren’t you the one who started talking to me about your feelings?" Tangmo said with a grin.

"That was a complaint, a complaint. Do you understand?" Fulajie’er said, exasperated.

"Hmm, I get it now," Tangmo said with a nod, still smiling.

"You’re driving me crazy. I’m not talking to you anymore," Fulajie’er said, and then silence fell.

After teasing Fulajie’er, Tangmo finally felt a sense of joy she hadn’t felt in a long time, and her mood wasn’t as tense. She took a deep breath and watched Hu Daoke and Feng clearing fallen leaves to make a campsite, considering whether she should help.

Just then, she seemed to faintly hear a commotion from deep within the forest, getting closer. Listening carefully, she thought she could also hear panting and crying out.

Hearing this sound, Tangmo, who had just relaxed, became tense again. She softly called out to Fulajie’er: "Hey, Xiao Fula, something seems off. Come out quickly."

However, Fulajie’er seemed to still be mad at her, so she completely ignored Tangmo’s calls. After calling out for quite a while and getting no response, Tangmo shook her head helplessly and said, "Fine, fine. You protect Luo’er. I’ll go check it out."

As she said this, she jumped down from the carriage and pulled out her magic wand. Just two steps out, she shouted loudly, "Feng!"

"Yes!" Upon hearing her call, Feng immediately dropped the branches and responded.

"Over there!" Tangmo didn’t say it outright but pointed solemnly in a direction.

"Understood!" Unexpectedly, Feng instantly grasped her intention. She drew her long sword from her waist and charged in the direction Tangmo had indicated.

"What’s going on, Sister Moumou?" Hu Daoke, holding a gun, ran over and asked anxiously.

"It’s nothing. You two keep on clearing the campsite. Feng and I will go take a look," Tangmo said, waving her hand and then quickly following in Feng’s footsteps.

Feng dashed through the jungle at high speed, chopping and slashing away all the trees and bushes that stood in her way. The further she went, the louder the commotion became.

Bursting through the underbrush, Feng leaped out and finally saw the source of the disturbance. A woman was being pinned down by three men. The woman was struggling and crying, while the men, holding her arms and legs, laughed with vile intentions, obviously preparing to assault her.

By this time, they had noticed Feng’s arrival. When they turned their heads, all three were startled by her appearance.

Feng wore a mask typical of the Ghost Race, and a sudden glance could invoke an inexplicable fear. Coupled with her petite stature, she looked very much like a member of the Ghost Race.

Faced with the three stunned men, Feng showed no mercy. Although she wasn’t good at expressing her emotions, that didn’t mean she lacked them. For her, some things were non-negotiable boundaries.

Working with the Advance Team over the years, she too had been learning and growing, eventually embracing the Earth-centric way of thinking, which doesn’t naturally assume there are hierarchies among people.

However, compared to the civilization of Earth, as someone from the Otherworld, she appeared far too barbaric. Often, many things that seemed righteous in the end had to be resolved by violence—excessive violence.

The scene before her clearly crossed Feng’s bottom line. For the Advance Team, such behavior was grave, but not punishable by death. Yet for Feng, there was only one possible outcome for such acts.

"Die!" Feng cried out with a cold and angry voice, moving like a ghost and whisking past one of the men instantly.

The man didn’t even have time to react before his head hit the ground. Even as it did, his expression was one of dumbfounded shock, and it took two seconds for him to realize his head had parted from his body.

Witnessing their companion’s horrific death, the remaining two men lost any interest in their prior pursuit. They stood up quickly, weapons in hand, ready to confront Feng.

But neither being cultivators nor skilled in martial arts, how could they be a match for Feng?

With a mere turn around and a face-to-face encounter, both men fell straight to the ground. Their weapons, along with their arms, were chopped off, and the ground was strewn with blood and fragments.

Their throats had been slit, blood gushing out continuously. They should consider themselves fortunate that Feng didn’t sever their heads as well.

In just two encounters, all three men were slain by her, without any chance of resistance. The woman looked on in terror at Feng; to her, the person before her seemed far more dangerous and unsettling than the three men.

After dealing with the three men, Feng shook the blood off her sword and, once ensuring the area was safe, she slowly sheathed her blade and stood still, quietly waiting for Tangmo’s arrival.

Before long, Tangmo arrived along the path Feng had cleared. The bloody scene made her feel nauseous, but she managed to suppress the feeling of sickness and asked with a frown while covering her nose, "What happened here?"

Feng did not answer but simply pointed at the woman in front of her, and only then did Tangmo notice there were other survivors at the scene.

It was a disheveled woman, curled up and staring at Feng uneasily. She was wearing decent clothes with a hood on her head. Tangmo could clearly see the pair of furry pointed ears beneath the half-open hood—a woman from the Demon Clan.

Considering the situation at the scene, it was not hard for Tangmo to guess what had happened here. These three men must have intended to violate the Demon Clan woman, which led to Feng’s slaughter.

As a guardian, Tangmo understood Feng very well and knew her boundaries. Although Feng was bloodthirsty, she did not kill indiscriminately. Most of the time, she abided by orders and rarely resorted to lethal force against common threats without clear instructions.

"Are you alright?" Thinking of this, Tangmo approached the woman and asked with concern.

"No, no harm..." The woman shook her head, but the terror in her eyes never left Feng.

"You don’t have to worry about her; she won’t hurt you. We came because we heard your cries for help," Tangmo reassured her.

Hearing her words, the woman finally looked away from Feng and turned her gaze to Tangmo. Compared to Feng, Tangmo seemed much kinder, especially since she did not wear a mask and her pretty little face was visible.

"Thank you for your help," the woman said with heartfelt gratitude.

"It’s good you’re safe. If you don’t mind, come sit with us. It will be dark soon, and it’s not safe for you to wander around the forest alone," Tangmo suggested.

"I, I still have things to do..." The woman slowly stood up, still curled up, her eyes occasionally sweeping towards Feng.

"Do you live nearby?" Tangmo asked.

"No..." The woman shook her head.

"Then you should come with us, and don’t wander around anymore. You’ve seen that this forest is not only inhabited by wild beasts. We’re about to cross through this forest; you can leave with us tomorrow," Tangmo said.

"Thank you... Thank you..." The woman looked at Tangmo, then at Feng, and finally made up her mind and nodded.

"Then let’s go; our campsite is just ahead," Tangmo said, pointing in the direction they came from.

With the woman in tow, they returned to the campsite. Hu Daoke and Baiyue had already started a big bonfire, and because it had only just been lit, the flames were very high, so the two had to stay away from the fire for the time being until the flames died down a bit.

"Hey, Sister Moumou, why did you bring a woman back?" Noticing the three people’s arrival, Hu Daoke turned her head and asked.

"This woman ran into trouble, so we asked her to come with us, and we’ll leave here together tomorrow," Tangmo explained briefly.

"What’s with the smell of blood?" Hu Daoke sniffed and asked.

"Some unlucky guys wanted to desecrate her but ran into Feng, and well, you know the rest," Tangmo said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Hmm, good job," Hu Daoke gave a thumbs up to Feng.

Tangmo turned around, looked at the woman who was still anxious and asked with a tilted head and a smile, "How may I address you?"

"I... I am called Fei Yu..." the woman replied tentatively, looking down.

"You’re from the Demon Clan, right, the Qingqiu Clan?" Tangmo asked.

"No, I am not..." The woman was startled and quickly waved her hands in denial.

"Don’t worry, we won’t do anything to you, we too are from outside West Heaven," Tangmo reassured her.
