Chapter 1558: Chapter 1551: With Surprise but No Danger
"Dodge!" Cheng Ziang let out an almost screeching shout.Hearing his warning, Hu Daoke instinctively sidestepped, clumsily falling to the ground but narrowly avoiding the fatal strike.
Seeing that Hu Daoke had dodged the attack, the man showed no sign of panic; instead, he steadied himself and then raised the saber in his hand, ready for a slash. At this moment, Hu Daoke was so frightened that he forgot to raise his gun and fire, simply staring dumbly at the gleaming blade in the man’s hand.
"Ghost Envoy, heed my call, come forth!" Faced with such a dire situation, Cheng Ziang couldn’t hold back any longer, making a pistol gesture with his left hand aimed at the man’s back and then loudly calling out his trump card.
Accompanied by his roar, the magic in the air began to violently distort, not just fluctuating but genuinely twisting. Liseya instantly gathered magic to form her own head, appearing at the tip of Cheng Ziang’s finger.
However, the magical distortion did not cease at this point but continued, causing strong winds to suddenly arise in the area. Even East Continent natives, who had not undergone Magic Power Sensing training, could feel the magical fluctuations in the air.
In less than a fraction of a second, Liseya gathered the amount of magic that would take a Mage several minutes to accumulate for a level-four spell, then her entire being charged directly into the man’s back.
As mentioned before, Liseya’s attacks are very straightforward. It’s like in the novels where the Three-Body’s water droplets take on a fleet, relying purely on collision.
But Liseya’s impact was not just any ordinary hit; it was a soul-striking, penetrating blow. One should realize that even Feng, a powerful Cultivator, took quite a while to recover from one of her strikes. These two weren’t even Cultivators, so one could only imagine the consequences of taking such a blow from her.
With Liseya’s penetrating strike, her head burst forth from the man’s chest. Cheng Ziang could even hear a snapping sound coming from the man’s body, as if some organ had been torn apart.
The man’s eyes widened and his mouth gaped, his eyes filled with horror, fixedly staring at the Flying Head Monster emerging from his chest. He tried to make a sound, but just as he was about to, a warm, bloody sensation came from his throat.
With a cough, blood spurted from his mouth and nose, not just from those orifices but also from the corners of his eyes and his ears, resulting in blood flowing from all seven bodily openings.
His body, still in the posture of holding the saber, suddenly came to a standstill, and after a brief silence, his convulsed and stiff body fell straight down like a tombstone.
Hu Daoke was splattered all over with the blood from the man, and his mask was completely covered with bloodstains. Seeing him fall flat, Hu Daoke quickly moved out of the way to avoid being squashed.
"That’s terrifying," he muttered, shaking his head to fling off the blood from his head and mask, still feeling lingering fear.
"If I had my gun, I wouldn’t have had to summon Liseya," Cheng Ziang finally sighed in relief upon seeing Hu Daoke unscathed.
The reason Liseya could achieve such an effect mainly lies in her as a Demigod being able to quickly gather enough magic to be fatal, relying purely on the magic to burst a person’s blood vessels and organs.
If the human body’s network of channels is likened to a river network, the specially cultivated meridians are like major rivers. High-ranked Cultivators have very broad meridians, capable of withstanding floods unscathed. Lower-ranked Cultivators, however, have meridians like small ditches, easily breaching and flooding towns and farmland in the event of a flood.
And the so-called towns and farmland represent the various organs of the body. With meridians present, magic would not harm these organs but would obediently flow along the meridians.
This is why Earth natives cannot withstand magic because while Otherworld natives have a network of meridians for magic to flow through, the bodies of Earth natives are like deserts. Once hit by a flood, the water would inundate everything in its path, with no chance for diversion.
The bodies of these two fellows were not much different from Earth natives’. Although they too had meridians, they were like small streams and ditches, unable to bear such a tremendous influx of magic. As a result, the magic rampaged through their bodies, bursting their organs and blood vessels, causing severe internal bleeding.
Liseya’s attack was thorough, clearing away the immediate threat; she once again gathered magic, causing a distortion in the air, and then struck directly at the man Hu Daoke had shot down.
After being hit by Liseya, the battered man’s body immediately convulsed, his toes tensing and his hands clenching into fists, stiffening on the ground like a sectional board, quickly losing any sign of life.
Though it wasn’t his first time witnessing Liseya kill, every time Cheng Ziang saw the condition of the dead, it still sent shivers down his spine. He should feel fortunate that Liseya was an ally and not an enemy.
Because to this day, he still cannot forget everything the Advance Team encountered in front of the ancestor’s tomb. That was the Advance Team’s worst defeat; if it weren’t for the unexpected factor that was him, the Advance Team might have been annihilated on the spot.
"Old Hu, are you alright?" Seeing Liseya take down another person, Cheng Ziang struggled to his feet from the ground and asked as he gasped for breath.
"I’m fine, just that my mask is covered in blood, making it hard to breathe." Hu Daoke replied.
"That’s good." Cheng Ziang heaved a long sigh of relief.
"But what about you kid, are you okay after taking that punch?" Hu Daoke asked with concern.
"I’m not seriously hurt, it’s just a bit... nauseating... bleh..." Cheng Ziang said while covering his mouth, almost throwing up.
"Damn, punched you straight into pregnancy." Hu Daoke said, relieved.
"Be a little more serious at times like this." Cheng Ziang said, irritated.
"Alright alright, I’ve got you, quickly have your ancestor check you out, make sure you don’t have internal injuries and don’t even know it." Hu Daoke said as he got up from the ground and then went over to help Cheng Ziang up.
"That beast punched me in the lower abdomen, nearly made me pee myself." Cheng Ziang stood up slowly with the support, grimacing as he spoke.
"Hehehe, you just told me to be serious a moment ago." Hearing his words, Hu Daoke chuckled mischievously.
"You really can find the humor in anything, without regard for the situation..." Cheng Ziang glared at him and said.
After dealing with those two, Liseya flew into midair, looking down at Cheng Ziang with concern. Although the sight was somewhat eerie, Cheng Ziang genuinely felt warmth.
"Ancestor, ancestor, quickly check out your kin, he seems to have sustained internal injuries." Hu Daoke called out to Liseya in Tasta’s language.
"Who are you calling ancestor, that’s my ancestor..." Cheng Ziang said helplessly.
"Let’s not nitpick at a time like this." Hu Daoke replied.
Liseya listened quietly, she seemed to understand Hu Daoke’s words, showing a worried expression as she circled in midair. Along with her movements, magical fluctuations stirred in the air again, but this time it was just a slight stirring, not the direct distortion as before.
Following that, she didn’t care whether Cheng Ziang accepted it or not and flew directly towards him, then entered his body.
"Hmm..." Cheng Ziang felt the discomfort of his domain being invaded, but still clenched his teeth and endured it.
This wasn’t the first time Liseya had invaded his body, so there was no concept of secrets between them anymore. But even so, he was still not used to the feeling of his domain being invaded. That was normal, as no one can get used to their domain being invaded.
After more than ten seconds inside Cheng Ziang’s body, Liseya burst out from his chest again. Being her own descendent, Liseya was very gentle with Cheng Ziang, and unlike those two people, he didn’t end up bleeding from all orifices and dying on the spot.
She flew back into midair, her expression changing from anxious to gentle, and then she hovered around Cheng Ziang’s head.
"Looks like everything should be fine, right?" Hu Daoke stared at Liseya and asked somewhat surprised.
"Should be fine, she cares so much about her descendants, if there was something wrong with my body, she would definitely feel uneasy." Cheng Ziang also stared at Liseya and nodded as he spoke.
