Chapter 1247: Chapter 1240: It contains 25 young ones
Hearing her suggestion, Cheng Ziang and Baiyue exchanged glances. Baiyue shook his head, and with a helpless expression, said, "You see, even Feng’s plan is more solid than yours."
"Fine then, let’s go with that plan." Cheng Ziang, at a loss for words, could only let out a long sigh and agreed to Feng’s plan.
So, after some arrangements, the group decided to set an ambush in a clearing in the woods outside the camp. Baiyue would hide in the woods, setting up the Yuanzi sniper rifle and a live ammunition sniper rifle, ready to assassinate the target. Cheng Ziang’s main responsibility was to coordinate the response and to grapple with any enemies that might arrive.
Of course, considering that the arrivals were generally all generals, the only support he could rely on was probably his great-grandmother Liseya.
Feng, carrying a knife and utilizing the cover of night, silently infiltrated the camp thanks to the boost from an ultra-mobility device. As mentioned earlier, because of the hurried arrival, the entire camp’s defense was disorganized, with many areas solely reliant on patrolling guards, making it easy to infiltrate.
However, even with infiltrators, the soldiers of the Dongsheng Empire were not worried, since almost everyone from West Outer Heaven belonged to the Demon Clan, and the physical characteristics between the Demon Clan and the Human Race were quite distinct. Thus, any infiltrating enemy would easily give themselves away due to their appearance.
What they never anticipated was that a Kyushu civilian, who was not one of their own, had entered the camp. Feng was smart; after entering the camp, she immediately stole a set of armor to wear and smeared mud on her face to conceal her features.
The Dongsheng Empire still favored long hair, so Feng’s shoulder-length short hair seemed somewhat out of place. Fortunately, her helmet covered her hair, so she was not exposed.
However, infiltrating the camp presented a significant language barrier. Everyone inside the camp spoke the Kyushu language, while Feng only understood Tasta, the Demon Clan language, and a bit of Chinese—she could not understand Kyushu at all.
Thus, even though she found a disguise, she remained as hidden as possible to avoid contact with others and exposing her identity.
Passing through the dark, snoring-filled tents, Feng reached a brightly lit camp area where people were hiding inside tents, drinking, and singing loudly—it looked quite lively.
Feng guessed, based on experience, that this must be the resting area for generals and other officers. Only these generals would drink and sing late into the night.
With that thought, Feng drew her long knife once more and stealthily approached the tents, preparing to observe these people to identify the general who had recognized her.
Her movements were very cautious because she could distinctly sense that these generals were very keen on perceiving presences, so she dared not make any significant moves. After checking several tents, she still hadn’t found the general who had recognized her.
Feeling somewhat discouraged, she approached a uniquely distinct tent to continue her observation. This tent was special; although brightly lit inside, it was not as lively as the others and was positioned quite remotely.
She came to the entrance and peeked inside. In the center of the tent, there was a coffin with a burly man kneeling in front of it, his back to her. Beside him stood a slim man, talking to him about something.
Though she only saw his back, Feng immediately recognized the burly man as the general they had encountered who had recognized her.
Taking a deep breath, Feng, without a second thought, thrust her long knife like lightning toward the general’s back.
Possibly completely unaware of the situation behind him, Feng’s strike met no resistance, and the knife plunged into the general’s abdomen, causing him intense pain as he immediately swung a palm backward. Feng quickly stepped back, dodging the blow.
The reason she targeted the general’s abdomen was that it housed the Dantian. Injuring the opponent’s Dantian could render the general disabled or even kill him on the spot.
The general turned around abruptly, his wide eyes staring fiercely at Feng, who had attacked him from behind. The surprise in his eyes quickly turned to anger.
Then, he stood in front of the slim man, babbling something. Upon hearing his words, the slim man paused briefly, then looked at Feng with surprise.
However, the surprise was fleeting, and the slim man soon looked away and then watched over the general with concern, apparently saying something.
Suddenly, to even Feng’s amazement, a scene unfolded that left her utterly shocked. The man standing behind the general, at some point, had drawn a short sword and plunged it diagonally into the unprotected side of the general’s rib cage, the blade fully penetrating his chest.
The General once again widened his eyes, his mouth agape, yet unable to utter a single word. Judging from his astonished expression, he had not anticipated this man’s sudden attack.
Then, the man called out to Feng and, with both hands, forcefully pushed the General towards her. Feng, without hesitation, raised her sword and plunged it into him. The blade, forged from Kedal metal, sliced into the General’s seemingly sturdy breastplate like a knife through butter, piercing his heart and exiting through his back.
The lifeless body of the General fell like a monolith, and Feng, exerting herself, pushed him away before pulling her sword out and striking his neck once more to ensure he was thoroughly deceased.
"Clap clap clap!!"
Suddenly, a round of applause erupted at the scene, and there stood the man, with an appreciative expression, clapping continuously. His right palm was smeared with blood, but he seemed utterly indifferent to it.
Feng shook off the blood from her blade and then pointed it at the man. He promptly took a step back, then raised his hands to indicate he was no threat.
Facing Feng’s hostility, the man attempted to communicate with her in Kyushu, but it was clear she could not understand him. Pausing briefly, the man then spoke in the standard tongue of the Demon Clan, "My respects to your excellent skill, madam!"
"Why did you kill him?" asked Feng coldly.
"I killed him? No, no, no, it was you who killed him!" the man said, his face breaking into a sly smile.
"Your sword is still in his body," Feng remarked, glancing at the corpse, then cautiously added while staring at the man.
"Heh heh heh, I am just a Civil Captain; do you think someone with my abilities could kill a Military General?" the man continued, maintaining his elusive smile.
"I won’t kill you because you are not my target," Feng declared, deftly wiping the blood off her sword before sheathing it and preparing to leave.
"Wait a minute, why did you kill the General?" the man called out to Feng.
"That’s none of your business," Feng replied coldly.
"Let me guess, it’s because he knew your identity, right, Princess Bailong?" the man’s words reignited Feng’s urge to kill.
"Keep calm, keep calm," the man said, smiling and waving his hands as Feng raised her sword, "Frankly, I don’t care about your identity, but if you wanted to kill the General, then perhaps we could cooperate. There are already many generals who know of your identity; shouldn’t you also eliminate them?"
"Who exactly are you, and why do you want to kill your own camp’s General?" Feng asked, frowning.
"No particular reason, I just purely disliked him," the man said squinting, "It seems to me, you are just a pawn too. May I have a proper discussion with your master?"
"Discuss what?" Feng asked.
"Discuss how to eliminate these brute simpletons. I don’t like such fools and want to use your hands to remove them; if you’re interested, we can form some kind of partnership," he said leisurely.
Faced with his proposal, Feng seemed conflicted, unsure of what to do. Clearly, the situation had surpassed her expectations, as there was an inside saboteur within the Dongsheng Empire’s military, something they had not foreseen before they acted.
"If you can’t answer, then take me to see your master, but of course, I must return before dawn. To show my sincerity, I am willing to surrender, and accompany you alone to meet your master. How about that?" the man said, raising his hands as a sign of no foul play.
"Are you sure you’ll not play any tricks?" Feng asked, pointing her sword at him.
"I am certain," the man replied calmly, "in eliminating the General, our interests align."
