Chapter 1099: Chapter 1092: High Priest Falei
"Oh, I see, if that’s the case, then what use does Sir Xiapei Kam have for this trait of Luo’er’s?" Cheng Ziang nodded and asked.
"You’ll have to ask her that yourself," Tangmo said, looking up at the sky with a smile.
The merchant ship headed south along the sea surface, and the passengers noticed a detail—they seemed to be sailing in the deep sea instead of strictly following the coastline.
This was a very risky move, considering that in the Otherworld, the deep sea was home to the Leviathan. The Advance Team had been in a bad way because of it the last time, almost getting entirely wiped out by the creature. Seeing how boldly the merchant ship was navigating now, they couldn’t help feeling terrified.
Furthermore, they also noticed that there had been a consistent northeast wind blowing on the sea surface, which bellied the sails, while their destination, Antenisivia, was precisely in the southwest direction.
In other words, since the day they set off, the wind had been cooperating with them, allowing the merchant ship to sail southward at full sail, striving to reach Antenisivia as quickly as possible.
Luo’er had asked some sailors, who all said that such a situation was quite rare. After all, it was summer, and it should logically be a southwest wind, but their situation was the complete opposite.
With such an abnormal phenomenon, there could be only one explanation: it seemed that Sir Xiapei Kam was quietly controlling everything, including the weather and the Leviathan.
Luo’er remembered that after they fell into the water yesterday, the Leviathan and the storm didn’t harass them anymore; it was as if they had been blocked by something. Now thinking about it, it was probably Sir Xiapei Kam.
As mentioned before, Xia Yue Island was Sir Xiapei Kam’s sanctuary, where his word was law. Although Sir Xiapei Kam couldn’t leave Xia Yue Island, correspondingly, Tana couldn’t set foot on the island either.
But even with direct navigation in the deep sea and the assistance of the wind, it still took the merchant ship a good two and a half days to reach Antenisivia, the capital of Xia Yue Island.
Antenisivia was located at the river’s mouth to the sea, a typical seaside town. Although it was the capital of Xia Yue Island, from afar, Antenisivia wasn’t very large.
It seemed that the cities of the Elf Race were mostly limited in scale, and since Antenisivia wasn’t the trade hub of Xia Yue Island, the city was even smaller than Kalenisa.
Antenisivia was long and narrow, built along the river, stretching all the way to the sea. At the mouth to the sea, the Night Elves had built several docks, which seemed to be able to accommodate only medium-sized merchant ships.
One wonders if this was a characteristic of the cities on Xia Yue Island; both Antenisivia and Kalenisa had no high city walls. Instead, only several watchtowers and bastions served as defense and alert facilities, with the city completely open to the outside world.
As the merchant ship prepared to enter the harbor and lower its sails, the passengers saw a group of Night Elves standing on the dock. Most were female, dressed in magnificent attire. There were fully armed warriors, as well as nobles dressed in long robes.
Luo’er noticed among the crowd a Night Elf woman of extraordinary temperament, wearing a white robe with religious significance and a headpiece that was both beautiful and religiously characteristic.
Her long hair cascaded down like a waterfall, a silvery-white cold hue, striking deeply at the G-spot of the hearts of those in the Advance Team.
It seemed that for the Night Elves, headpieces were a very important ornamental method. On Xia Yue Island, every Night Elf that Luo’er saw without exception wore intricate and exquisite headpieces, even the fully armored soldiers.
Upon hearing the news, Talis and the female Captain were the first to disembark and approach the dock. They walked up to the Night Elf woman, immediately knelt on one knee, their fingers crossed in front of them as they bowed their heads and spoke to her. The Elf woman extended her hand, palm upward, smiling and gesturing for them to rise.
Under Luo’er’s leadership, the members of the Advance Team disembarked from the merchant ship and approached the Elf woman. Now Luo’er finally had the opportunity to take a closer look at the Elf before him.
She appeared to be in her thirties, with the Elves’ standard exquisite features. Perhaps it was an illusion, but despite appearing to be in her thirties, she had a kindly air about her, giving off a sense of high virtue and prestige.
This Elf woman’s skin, unlike that of other Elves, seemed somewhat pale, a cold shade of white, always giving the impression that her body was somewhat unhealthy.
Her hair was not just silver-white; her eyebrows and eyelashes were the same color. However, what truly stunned onlookers were her deep purple pupils, which highlighted her facial features.
Against a snowy landscape, a dark purple figure was visible from afar, and that was the impression this woman left on Luo’er. Dressed in white with a pair of deep purple pupils, she inevitably drew attention to her eyes. And her eyes were so profound and captivating, as if they possessed an invisible magic that deeply attracted Luo’er’s focus.
"I am Falei, the High Priest of Xia Yue Island. It’s an honor that you’ve come from afar to visit Xia Yue Island, Captain Luo’er. On behalf of all the Night Elves, I welcome you," the Elf woman said, not minding Luo’er’s gaze, as she bowed slightly with respectful initiative.
"You’re too kind, High Priest Falei. You must have heard of our arrival from Sir Xiapei Kam," Luo’er respectfully inquired.
"Yes," Falei nodded, offering no denial.
"In that case, let us not say much more and quickly proceed with our respective missions," Luo’er suggested.
"Very well, Captain Luo’er is so forthright, we shall not dally further," Falei said, revealing a charming smile. Her eyes curved into beautiful crescents, and the deep color that peeked through their slits could captivate any soul.
"Did Sir Xiapei Kam happen to mention our request?" asked Luo’er.
"Oh, does Captain Luo’er have a request?" Falei asked curiously, obviously unaware of Luo’er’s intention for the trip.
"It’s like this, I have heard that Xia Yue Island has a way to sever an Elf’s link with Tana, so I have come specifically to seek liberation," Luo’er explained.
"Someone wishes to sever their link with Tana?" Falei asked, filled with curiosity.
"Indeed," Luo’er confirmed with a nod.
"May I know who it is?" Falei inquired.
"It is I," Luo’er replied.
"Captain Luo’er..." Upon hearing his words, Falei’s eyes widened with surprise, and she stared at Luo’er with curiosity. Clearing her throat, she said, "Pardon my boldness, Captain Luo’er, but are you..."
"Oh, it’s like this," realizing what she was about to say, Luo’er paused to contemplate then continued, "I established a link with Tana by a twist of fate, but I do not wish to worship her and hence hope there is a way here to resolve this."
"I’m afraid it wasn’t just by chance..." Falei remarked, her face lighting up with an enigmatic smile.
"What do you mean?" Luo’er immediately became alert and pressed for an answer.
"Nothing," Falei smiled, shaking her head gently, then turned and said, "Captain Luo’er has helped Xia Yue Island to acquire what we need. Therefore, whatever you request, we will do our utmost to fulfill it. So, you need not worry, as we are as good as our word."
With that, she extended her hand, gesturing, "Come, Captain Luo’er, please rest at my residence. I will request further orders from Sir Xiapei Kam, and thereafter we will set out to fulfill the millennium-long wish of Sir Xiapei Kam."
"I appreciate you leading the way, High Priest Falei," Luo’er nodded, gesturing for his companions to follow Falei.
The procession walked on the stony paths of Antenisivia, flanked by reverent, bowing Night Elves on both sides. It seemed High Priest Falei held a high status in the eyes of these Night Elves, so with her leading the way, Luo’er felt relieved from worrying about any potential trouble.
