Chapter 1067: Chapter 1060: The Ending of Self-Destruction
"Sorry." The female Wolfman shook her head gently and sighed.
"Then I must trouble you." Luo’er, sensing something off in the atmosphere, took the initiative to try to ease the mood.
After the female Wolfman had spoken, she left with Feron and others. Now only Tangmo, Luo’er, and Feng were left in the room. Tangmo seemed somewhat dejected, and whenever Luo’er’s injuries were mentioned, she couldn’t help feeling guilty again.
"Don’t start that again..." Luo’er said with a bitter smile, yet he didn’t know how to comfort her.
"Do you think I’m being insincere?" Tangmo glanced at him and asked with a resentful tone.
"I didn’t say that. I’m just saying not to dwell too much on these matters since the future is promising. There’s no need to fret over this momentary hardship," Luo’er said, somewhat flustered.
"The future..." Tangmo placed her hand on Luo’er’s chest and then said gloomily, "For hundreds of years into the future, you will always suffer such pain, and it all originates from me..."
"I don’t feel any pain. My wounds healed long ago, and I wouldn’t even feel uncomfortable if she didn’t mention it," Luo’er said.
"But if it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t have suffered this disaster. In a way, I really do seem to be your nemesis..." Tangmo said, her head lowered.
"You’re talking as if you’re trying to move yourself and disgust others. You think you understand me better than I do myself, thinking I am not comfortable so you are not comfortable either. Why bother?" Luo’er said.
"It’s all because of me," Tangmo said.
"That just shows we are fated," Luo’er said with a smile.
At Luo’er’s words, Tangmo obviously paused for a moment, then raised her head to look at him, and suddenly burst out laughing, then said complainingly, "You’re not usually such a smooth talker."
"I’m the captain, being a smooth talker is hardly appropriate," Luo’er said seriously.
"Well, if you’re alright, I feel much better..." Tangmo said as the hand she had placed on Luo’er’s chest started to slide around.
"Where are you touching? My heart is not in my stomach," Luo’er quickly stopped her, saying.
"Luo’er, your skin is so smooth, smoother than mine. I really want to have a good interaction with you," Tangmo said with an infatuated expression.
"Interaction..." Luo’er, sensing the odd tone in her voice, started coughing in fright.
Feng looked on with wide eyes, her face full of innocence, still tightly clutching Luo’er’s sleeve, refusing to let go no matter what.
Seeing Feng’s innocent look, Tangmo suddenly felt a surge of emotion deep inside, so she let go of Luo’er to hug Feng and said with narrowed eyes, "Ah, Feels like Feng is just like our child. You are the father, I am the mother, and she is the daughter..."
"Don’t make such silly comparisons. She’s only a few years younger than you, none of this father and mother business," Luo’er said, shaking his head helplessly.
Finally breaking free from them and leaving the house, Luo’er stood at the door and took a deep breath. The pent-up frustration in his heart also eased a lot. In any case, everyone was more or less alright for now. That was enough; there were solutions to the problems, so there was no need for despair.
He had just relaxed when suddenly he heard a dull explosion from the direction of the village. Immediately after, a wave of magical force swept over him, bringing with it an intense sting, shocking Luo’er as if he had been electrocuted.
He looked towards the source of the sound, which was the direction of the warehouse, and immediately thought of Cheng Ziang and the man they had captured. He shouldered his gun and started running towards the warehouse.
As Luo’er reached the front of the warehouse, he saw a blood-soaked man walking out. Seeing Luo’er arrive, he sighed deeply and then turned and spat.
"Ziang, are you alright?" Seeing the bloodied Cheng Ziang, Luo’er’s heart trembled with fear, and he quickly asked.
"Hey hey, don’t come closer, I’m fine, this isn’t my blood." Cheng Ziang stopped Luo’er, who was about to approach, and then sighed.
"What on earth happened?" Luo’er asked in surprise.
"Ah, in short, that guy suddenly self-destructed—literally exploded," Cheng Ziang said as he took the handkerchief offered by the warehouse guard, wiping the blood off his face while speaking to Luo’er.
"Exploded?" Luo’er asked, puzzled.
"Yes," Cheng Ziang erased the blood from his eyes and then nodded, "This guy somehow gathered magic power and released it directly from his Qitian. He blew up in an instant. Luckily, Fula pulled up a magic shield for me, so I was just splashed with blood instead of being hit by the magic force."
"It’s all because you were torturing him for information," Fulajie’er joined Luo’er’s domain and complained.
"I just wanted to see how tough he was, but who knew he still had a backup plan, ah, now this warehouse is just a bloody mess..." Cheng Ziang shook his head and lamented.
"It’s good if people are okay; as for him, dead is dead. Given his attitude, he was hardly of any help to us anyway." After grasping the situation, Luo’er finally breathed a sigh of relief and comforted him.
"Weren’t you always worried about Feng’s injury before? So, do you have a plan now?" Cheng Ziang asked Luo’er.
"Yes, the Wolfman Clan treated her and proposed a solution. In any case, Feng’s injury is not incurable; it’s just a bit tricky to handle for the time being." Luo’er replied.
"What do they say?" Cheng Ziang asked.
"Feng’s injury is not a serious matter in itself; it only requires magic force to be infused into her Sheng Gate to break through the injury gate directly," Luo’er explained.
"Isn’t that simple? Doesn’t our Advance Team have a mage?" Cheng Ziang asked.
"No, mages can only circulate magic force, not compress it to generate pressure. Without pressure, the magic force cannot break through the injury gate," Luo’er said.
"But, doesn’t Moumou know a move for targeted blasting?" Cheng Ziang asked.
"You need something directional. Can the fragments of a hand grenade travel further than a bullet fired from a gun barrel? Without directionality, that move can only harm, not save," Luo’er used an analogy.
"Then you say there’s a way?" Cheng Ziang said, his eyebrows involuntarily furrowing.
"Indeed, there is a way," Luo’er pursed his lips slightly, then continued, "someone capable of generating directional high-pressure magic force, we encountered before, your very own ancestor."
"So are we going to make another trip back to the Snow Domain?" Cheng Ziang asked.
"That’s why I said it’s troublesome," Luo’er shrugged and said.
"Right," Cheng Ziang suddenly remembered something, then turned to Luo’er and said, "Isn’t Fula also a demigod like my ancestor?"
"Fula took up the path halfway; she’s far behind in terms of magic," Luo’er said, "Liseya was a mage in her lifetime and she must have killed countless after death. In terms of experience, Fula definitely cannot compare to her."
"I can do it!" Upon hearing Luo’er’s words, Fulajie’er spoke up indignantly.
"Alright, there’s no need to argue about this; the important thing is that there is a way. And say, if Feng is strong enough, she can completely break open the injury gate by herself. So let’s put this issue aside for now; there’s no need to rush. For now, let’s take care of the matters at hand," Luo’er waved his hand and said.
"As long as there’s a way, I will first go deal with this stuff on me," Cheng Ziang said, lowering his head to inspect the bloodstains on himself, muttering curses under his breath, "Damn thing, dying and still splashing me with blood..."
As Cheng Ziang headed to the river, Luo’er was deep in thought; he turned his head to look towards the eastern sky. He had already reported back to headquarters in advance; the airboat should arrive at Meila Village in about three or four days, after which those who should be sent back to the station would be sent back, and those who should be taken along would be taken along.
The upcoming trip to Xia Yue Island was dangerous yet not dangerous. Luo’er knew, as long as his identity was not exposed, there was probably not much danger.
His only concern now was dealing with Tana; after all, before moving on to Xia Yue Island, the Advance Team must stop in Ilanadale, which was Tana’s stronghold.
Although Luo’er’s grandmother was the queen of Ilanadale, she might follow Tana’s wishes and purposely obstruct the Advance Team’s movements.
