Only God
Chapter 89 - 81 New Kingdom

Chapter 89: Chapter 81 New Kingdom

The gates of the Celestial Kingdom closed.

The figures of the Gods vanished into the distant horizon, and the dark clouds also scattered, as though they had never been there at all.

In an instant, the sky returned to its clear state, and the sea became calm.

The overbearing water curtain slowly fell, pouring down, like fireworks.

But since fireworks did not yet exist in this world, the people of Logos did not know how to describe the scene before their eyes.

Dertulian watched it all.

He finally fell backward, facing the vast azure sky, taking long breaths in and out, the joy of having survived washing over his mind.

Swans cried out in victory in mid-air, their elegant and majestic forms circling above the sea for quite some time, while Unihorns sang their cheerful Song of the Whale.

The dark clouds slowly withdrew, and the sight above the sea once again became calm and tranquil.

Dertulian’s body continued to heal, his charred skin flaking off at an astonishing speed, like shedding dead skin, while his wounds healed rapidly, and pain no longer dominated his nerves.

He saw the swan slowly descend from mid-air and finally land on the deck.

Dertulian rose from the ground and slowly moved forward, approaching the swan with plumage of glorious white.

"Yarlessto..."

Dertulian murmured, reaching out his hand to stroke the feathers on the swan’s body.

He had never thought that he would see Yarlessto again.

Dertulian had believed that their departure that day was an eternal farewell, that the descendants of Al were destined to be separated from each other.

Now, it seemed... he was wrong.

The swan pecked at Dertulian’s body with its beak, making happy cries.

Then, Yarlessto laid the Unihorn Staff down on the deck and, in the blink of an eye, transformed back into human form.

As Dertulian looked at this ethereal soul, tears filled his eyes, and his lips trembled, unable to utter a single word.

Yarlessto smiled at him, then said,

"Dertulian, I can only tell you, I have to tell you, God... once sacrificed for us."

Dertulian stood there stunned; he hadn’t expected Yarlessto to reveal to him this secret that had been kept under wraps.

"I will forever remember."

Then, the eldest son of the Prophet pointed to the Unihorn Staff on the ground and presented it to his brother.

For these pioneers of new worlds, they needed this staff far more than the Kingdom of Logos.

The Unihorns approached the Oar-sail Ship from below, their voices high in the Song of the Whale, celebrating the victory with these fraternal brothers.

...

Dertulian’s Oar-sail Ship, led by the Unihorns, hastened towards where the fleet was located.

Yarlessto’s soul had already departed, and Dertulian did not know where he had gone, nor when he might see him again.

Perhaps... he had returned to the side of God.

Looking towards the distant coastline, the fleet was just within reach. Fortunately, they were still staying at the original island. With the abrupt departure of Dertulian’s Oar-sail Ship, the other people of Logos had lost their mainstay and dared not make rash moves.

Dertulian’s return undoubtedly plunged the fleet into joyous celebration, as thousands of Logosians cheered for his safety, without a doubt, he was a triumphant hero.

The younger son of the Prophet accepted this, having endured countless hardships, and was finally able to set sail again, in search of the whereabouts of God.

The Logos people held a crude victory feast on the island, indulging in the abundant food from the supply ships. Every named individual of Logos was inquiring about Dertulian’s experiences over the past few days.

When Dertulian’s story reached their ears in full, everyone from Logos found it so legendary it was hard to believe, repeatedly confirming it with those who had shared the ship with him.

Then, in the late night, the talented Poets composed ballads with incredible speed, spreading them to every Oar-sail Ship that set sail.

The victory feast from today’s daylight continued until the daylight of the following day.

This great and mighty fleet set sail once more, following the direction given by King Yarlessto.

Twenty days later.

The Logos people saw an endless expanse of land.

Dertulian checked the food on the supply ships—over so many days, despite strict rationing, and even though the Unihorns had provided them with vast schools of fish, the consumption of food by sixty ships was still shockingly beyond his imagination.

There was no choice, the Logos people had to disembark on this piece of land.

Here, the branches were lush and everywhere stood large, robust ancient trees, with the calls of birds and beasts unceasing in their ears; sunlight filtered through gaps in the forest, and with their sharp eyes and long ears, the Logos people spotted the tracks of beasts traversing the underbrush amid the crisscross of trees.

An era belonging to Hunters was to return.

"This, is our New Kingdom."

Dertulian stood atop a towering sea cliff, one hand holding the Unihorn Staff, the other raising the Historical Tablet high, a splendid radiance engulfing the figure of the Prophet’s son.

The people witnessed the glory of the Prophet’s son, his solemn proclamation.

"We are Logosians,

Guided here by God.

We must not covet, we must not forget,

One day,

We shall find the whereabouts of God!"

The crowd cheered and shouted, calling out the names of God and Dertulian, as well as Prophet Al, kneeling together, hands clasped in prayer, shedding tears of devotion.

Like wheat turning towards the light,

Facing the direction from which God departed...

A new kingdom was established upon the earth, and an epic began its first Chapter.

The Logosians settled here, living off hunting and gathering, honoring the younger son of the Prophet, Dertulian, as their king, their ideals and beliefs to be passed down from generation to generation, until the day they find the departed God.

This New Kingdom of the Logos people, would linger longer than the realms of their forebears.
