Chapter 70 - 65 Yarlessto’s Nightmare_2

Chapter 70: Chapter 65 Yarlessto’s Nightmare_2

Dertulian watched it coldly, the hunter’s icy fury drove his spear into the vulnerable eyes of the giant dragon.

The glinting tip of the spear stabbed straight at Aus’s pupil, the sound of cutting through the air echoed in the giant dragon’s ears, dragon blood surged out, and the winds that crossed the sky scattered it, drifting with the gale.

The giant dragon Aus let out an agonized, strained wail; its body trembled with pain, scales oozing blood, fear rose from its toes, its vocal cords quivering, as if begging for mercy.

Its wings quivered, looking like they could plummet to the ground at any moment.

Dertulian gripped the spear tightly, he pulled it out, his other hand grasping the dragon horn, as he turned his body toward the other eye.

He saw that eye, no longer filled with rage, but fear.

The kind of fear a prey beast has when facing the hunter.

Dertulian, without any hesitation, jabbed the dragon-blood-coated sharp spear mercilessly through the other eye; blood gushing out like a torrent without a valve.

The giant dragon Aus howled in unbearable pain; the terror of death, along with the gush of fresh blood, overwhelmed every inch of its scales; it was now completely blinded, left only with the bloody darkness of its eyes.

Its massive body could no longer maintain balance; Aus’s wings tensed, and its head lurched downward, falling toward the ground like a meteor.

Dertulian drove the spear deeper, as if to pierce through the beast’s brain itself, holding the spear in one hand, the sturdy dragon horn in the other, lowering his body to embrace the fall.

Boom!

With a loud noise, the giant dragon Aus’s vast body hit the ground, the dragon’s tenacious life force clinging to a thread of life.

The giant dragon Aus’s body convulsed; its throat let out piteous cries for survival, its limbs flailing on the ground, its vast wings beating continuously.

Dertulian’s bones trembled from the impact of the fall, he felt his ribs shatter, pain rushing to his head, his eardrums bleeding from the dragon’s dreadful howls.

Despite the dishevelment, Dertulian still stood up, clenching the spear tightly; his resilience was such that even the gods would sigh in admiration.

Dertulian leapt down from the dragon’s head, his hands clasping the spear, and with all his might, he stabbed toward the dragon’s throat, which was opened wide by its wails.

The dragon’s scorching blood splattered everywhere.

Thus,

The very first dragon slayer in history had hunted down the world’s first giant dragon.

...

The three gods witnessed the demise of the giant dragon Aus.

"Why?"

Dragon God Endora looked on in astonishment at this incredible scene,

"The giant dragon Aus was supposed to bring a great catastrophe upon the people of Logos..."

Endora turned to look at Prophetic God Kagawus, who was pacing back and forth, head bowed, on the surface of the star.

Kagawus was also mired in deep incomprehension.

This giant dragon Aus, a favored creation of the gods, was supposed to bring kingdoms to ruin, screams of people filling the fields, a destructive inferno nearly obliterating a whole civilization.

This was the scene Kagawus saw in the prophecy.

And prophecy is a reflection of fate.

The people of Logos were supposed to face a great disaster, as it was meant to be.

The storm above the Thunderbolt Star weakened slightly, and Kagawus noticed that even the Divine King Shan’en was likewise full of perplexity.

The latter, his soul constructed of lightning, stood on the storm-wracked surface of the star.

"Shan’en God!"

Kagawus stared at Shan’en and spoke,

"Al’s descendants, every time, ’just happened’ to escape calamity, and finally killed the giant dragon Aus."

As the words of the Prophetic God reached his ears, a tidal wave of shock stirred in Shan’en God’s heart.

What immense power would it take to change the direction of fate?

How could these insignificant beings of Logos possess such ability?

Furthermore... as Kagawus had said, each time Dertulian had narrowly avoided disaster.

Shan’en looked in astonishment at the towering mountains on the land.

"Father!"

"Are you still favoring these people of Logos?"

As the words fell, Dragon God Endora incredulously looked toward the mountains.

Valuing the strong, Endora only had a glimpse into the truth but sensed the supreme might of the Father in Dertulian.

A mere mortal, through the Father’s might, was able to kill the giant dragon Aus, a bringer of great disaster.

Dragon God Endora did not have the keen awareness of the other divine entities.

What he saw was merely the surface.

Even so, it made him tremble all over.

Unlike what Endora perceived, the Thunder God and Prophetic God discerned a profound mystery.

Prophecy mirrors fate; the Prophecy is a reflection of the path of the Fate Line. Kagawus’s vision clearly depicted the giant dragon Aus bringing a great disaster.

Yet now the disaster had not come, fate had changed once more.

Mortals could not have such mighty power; they couldn’t even see the Fate Line.

Unless... it was the gods’ long-declined Father.

An existence unfettered by prophecy, capable of changing fate,

Just as he had once halted the arrival of doomsday, now, through Dertulian, he had prevented the impending catastrophe.

What startled the two gods even more,

Was that their Father could invert the destined fate in prophecies.

What sort of power was that?!

The three gods, sensing divine interventions in these mysterious affairs, fell into deep thought.

The great disaster had been halted, they realized they could not rebuild the faith of the land through physical destruction.

Unless...

They could inflict destruction on a spiritual level.
