Chapter 47 - 43 Rescue

Chapter 47: Chapter 43 Rescue

Pale prehistoric torrential rains descended upon the land.

The Logos Kingdom was covered by these rains, which first gathered in low-lying areas, then among the crevices of the mountains. What followed was the mountains beginning to peel away, rushing downward like falling meteors.

Days before this, the Sapo King had heavily persecuted the priests of the Pattern Garden. Those priests who weren’t killed fled. After expelling the priests within the kingdom, the Sapo King promised the Elder Sages eternal life.

Thus, the Elder Sages declared to the people of Logos, "The original Prophet Al has turned away from God, and a new chosen one—the King of the Logos people, Sapo, will lead his people towards eternal life."

At this moment, heavy rain accumulated on the land of the Logos people, submerging the Logos’ houses in the rainwater. The entire Logos Kingdom appeared as though it was tossed into a swamp, sinking slowly and desperately.

The fierce storms combined, causing floods to start overflowing between the mountains.

God looked at this terrifying sight.

It wouldn’t be long before those Logos people, whom He had endowed with reason, would perish in the great flood.

The great flood was destroying everything, obliterating all humanity!

God watched all this, attempting to stretch out His hand, to make a sound, to urge these people to flee, to higher grounds, to the mountaintops.

However, His hand couldn’t reach out, nor could it bridge such a vast distance. His voice also couldn’t reach the ears of the people, to warn them to flee before the apocalypse arrived.

The scene gradually zoomed in,

revealing the Logos Kingdom sprawling in the water, rotting like in the mud, while a person who had previously sat on the King’s Throne walked out of the grand palace.

The masses gathered below the palace, looking up at the Sapo King on the long stairway.

He had led the Logos people to establish the kingdom, to set up an early city, and had repeatedly shouted before the masses.

The Elder Sages led the Logos people to prostrate before him, fearing him, as if he were the spokesperson of God, symbolizing supreme life authority.

God watched the Sapo King, hoping this King of Logos would lead the people up the mountain, to higher grounds, away from this earth-shattering flood.

He subconsciously wanted to stretch out His hand, attempting to usher to safety these people facing the apocalypse helplessly.

He hoped this King of Logos would not let the Logos people die.

However...

God witnessed a horrifying scene.

The Sapo King did not lead the people up the mountain.

"Worship! Worship the Dragon Bone! Worship God!"

"Because the Prophet turned away from God, the great flood has come! New grace has also arrived! Worship me! I will share with you eternal life!"

The Sapo King shouted with his arms aloft, beside him the enormous, pale Dragon Bone.

Just as he had established the first kingdom in the world through repeated shouts, he now led the masses to frantically worship the king and the Dragon Bone.

The deceived masses knelt down, their knees sinking into the water, crying bitterly as they worshipped above the palace, pleading for forgiveness from the deity, unaware that the venom of death was slowly approaching.

Under the will of the Logos King, Sapo,

the people did not flee.

God stared at all this, wanting to say something, every syllable stuck in His throat.

The King had betrayed God’s expectations.

God could see the truth, the King had already turned to the Primordial Will.

In the eyes of the Logos King called Sapo, there was no grace from God,

because God had only given rationality, but not bestowed eternal life.

God’s hand stiffened, in the eyes of Sapo, He saw the fervor for the Primordial Will and the mockery of His own.

A felt helplessness surged in Chen Yi’s heart.

Following that, the brilliant golden flames weakened.

Dull colors spread over the sea of fire, accompanied by countless mockeries, jeers from the Primordial Will, roaring with the dark force, like a fierce storm, drowning the flames inch by inch.

A great flood of will roared fiercely.

This former ruler of the world wanted to crush His will, and then utterly obliterate God’s existence!

God saw the flood come.

Prehistoric torrential rains accumulated on the mountains, crumbling instantly, the massive mudslide followed the gathered floodwater down, unstoppable between the valleys.

The flood instantly spread to the kingdom, Logos was to be submerged in the flood, people were dying.

The Logos people started panicking, the flood rose higher, houses submerged, mothers holding children cried, fathers were buried under the floodwaters.

Outside the palace, as the flood became bigger, tens of thousands of Logos people, led by the Sapo King, knelt on the ground, worshipping the Dragon Bone, lamenting, praying God would retract this catastrophic flood.

God watched all this.

Chen Yi felt as if he was a lone boat, fluctuating in the rampant stormy sea, each moment edging closer to despair.

The Logos people knelt in madness, yet it was useless, the flood showed no sign of stopping, crumbling rocks fell, smashing the civilization into ruins.

"Oh God! Save us!"

"Touch our pain, do not let us die!"

The Logos people wailed, the sound of the flood hitting the earth enveloping them, despair and death closing in step by step.

However...

The forgiveness they prayed for still didn’t come.

The water level rose to submerge them waist-deep, more and more Logos people were swept away by the flood, emitting desperate cries, panic-stricken, their sorrowful prayers gradually disappeared, they became desperate and mournful.

It was unclear who started it, but under the looming death, the Logos people cursed, spewing malevolent curses at God. They were abandoning God.

God watched all this.

These people who had once offered sacrifices, diligently praying, their sacrifices stemmed from fear, and now due to fear, they cursed, hated because of fear.

As if they thought, sacrificing could grant them life, cursing could prevent their demise.

Chen Yi watched the world worship the Dragon Bone.

The dark majesty of the Primordial Will rampaged, trying to extinguish the brilliant golden flames, to utterly obliterate His spirit.

God felt the Primordial Will mocking, sneering at Him.

"Look at these insignificant lives..."

"What reward do you get from your love for humans?"

"Your love for humans will be met with betrayal!"

God watched the spread of the dark power,

Grief overwhelmed His entire being.

The flames gradually faded, receded, and Chen Yi felt short of breath, as if gasping for survival.

"Yes..."

"What reward does this love have?"

"Why must this love also meet with betrayal?!"

Chen Yi saw the desertion of the people.

He knew,

He doubted, He was confused, His spirit had lost direction.

But Chen Yi was powerless to stop it.

Just like the moment of His descent, He couldn’t stop the passing of memories.

Chen Yi’s spirit was enveloped by the dark power, His thoughts became disordered, His emotions turned chaotic.

God could no longer reach out...

He had lost the reason to extend His hand.

The flames gradually extinguished, the light that was to illuminate the darkness also faded.

His heart was full of the ashes left by the burning flames.

God felt His eyelids growing heavy, His existence slowly dimming... before long, He would be completely obliterated.

With the last of His strength, He clung to the notion of closing His eyes, wanting to see the world one last time.

God’s gaze landed on an island.

There was an old man, his hair white as snow, he was so old and thin, his ten knuckled hands were tightly clasped.

"God,

look at all we have endured,

can You embrace us?

On this world, embrace our suffering, embrace our despair."

God’s spirit trembled violently.

The old man was pleading, praying.

Like a thirsty lamb yearning for green grass, a life in darkness calling for light.

The old man’s child, named Yarlessto, also followed his father, clasping his hands, praying towards the presence of God.

God watched them, and then, He saw the distant Logos Kingdom.

Unknown who, unknown which person or group of people first clasped their hands, in the floods of despair, they put aside all curses, all denunciations.

These people clasped their hands, facing the high mountains.

"God,

look at all we have endured,

can You embrace us?

On this world, embrace our suffering, embrace our despair."

These still faithful people were pleading, calling, supporting each other’s shoulders, praying towards the life, reason, light they believed in.

"So it turns out that in this world..."

"There are still so many yearnings, so many calls..."

The apocalyptic flood came upon the world, the King’s bewitchment misled the people, causing strife and deception...

Yet, even trapped in the Valley of Despair, there remained yearning, there remained calls.

God heard them.

A heart full of ashes gradually rekindled in the darkness.

God finally extended His hand towards those praying.

Do not say that they all will desert.

Do not say that they all have betrayed me.

As long as one person does not desert, as long as one person does not betray,

then,

"For the sake of one person, I shall save the whole world."

The praying voices echoed in the Valley of Despair, converging together, bridging unimaginable distances, reaching the place where God resides.

God wanted to embrace these people of Logos.

Just like the grass needs to feed the lamb, just like light needs to penetrate the darkness.

"Grab my hand, I will lead you to salvation, and none shall be lost."
