Chapter 39: Chapter 36: Children Now and in the Future
The Unicorn Whale swam toward the seafloor.
Its unicorn horn emitted a faint blue light, swimming deeper into the ocean. The horn continuously exerted a power that controlled the seawater, slowly parting the water beneath its belly and in front of it, while the water behind naturally sank, propelling the Unicorn Whale forward rapidly.
While swimming towards the location from which its companions were emitting soundwaves, it made a similar sound. The whale exhaled air from its lungs into the "phonation labia." Once the air entered this passage, the membrane closed, and the airflow vibrated as it passed through, creating sounds. These sounds were rhythmic, divided into paragraphs, each perfectly repeatable, together forming a complex whale song.
Al and Yarlessto sat dejectedly on the canoe, not knowing where the Unicorn Whale was headed; they could only helplessly accept its arrangements.
Yarlessto, feeling both desperate and annoyed, cradled his head as the canoe floated on the seawater in the esophagus.
Prophet Al raised his head, faced upward, then closed his eyes, bringing his hands together in prayer.
"God,
look at all we have endured,
can You embrace us?
Embrace our suffering and despair in this world."
Al’s voice was so low, only he could hear it.
Yarlessto, seeing his father’s action, spoke somewhat dispiritedly,
"Is praying all you do, Father?"
"What else can I do?"
Al murmured,
"We’ve done all we could; we have only our faith in God left."
Even Yarlessto, who was so good at arguing, had to accept Al’s point at that moment.
Indeed, it was the first time in the history of their civilization, perhaps even the world, that two Logos people had been swallowed by a whale.
"Father... you pray for Him to save you. Don’t you have faith in God?"
Yarlessto asked.
Unquestionably, this father and son duo always loved to argue when together.
"No, I am not praying to be saved,"
Al still had his eyes closed,
"I am praying to strengthen my faith in God."
Yarlessto wanted to say more, but he only heard his father continue,
"Talk less, save some energy."
Hearing this, Yarlessto promptly closed his mouth.
He lowered his head, pondered for a moment, clenched his teeth, and also brought his hands together in prayer.

The Unicorn Whale kept swimming downwards, following the calls of its companions toward the area where the other unicorns were gathering.
Its massive form moved through the water, pushing fish and jellyfish away with the water currents managed by its unicorn horn.
Dark deep-sea algae, originating from ancient underwater life—ancestors of both this Unicorn Whale and the two Logos men in its belly—could be seen all around.
The Unicorn Whale drifted towards the location of the soundwaves, humming a similar "whale song," notifying its companions of its arrival.
It swam through the depths for a night and a morning, enduring discomfort in its esophagus, moving as quickly as possible.
Because the soundwaves reaching it were urgent, it seemed its kin encountered something terrible.
Generally, this meant danger.
The Unihorn whale swam swiftly, its sonar becoming louder as it received more calls from its companions.
In no time, the Unihorn whale finally reached the waters where its companions had gathered, excitedly emitting sonar waves.
Ahead lay a lonely island, yet on this day, dozens of Unihorn whales had congregated. They surrounded the tiny island; some submerged in the water, others with their heads emerged, continually spouting water columns without pause.
The Unihorn whale raised its head, looking forward to the island surrounded by its kin, where a luminous figure stood.
Before that figure on the sea, a Unihorn whale with a broken horn raised its head above the surface, intermittently emitting joyful sonar to its companions.
The Unihorn whale swam over, and the other Unihorns made some room for it; it was clear that it was highly respected among them.
It gazed confusedly at the luminous figure, then slightly bowed its head and sprayed water from its body.
God stood on the island, turned around, and looked at this newly arrived Unihorn whale.
In the path of "Fate Line" he had seen, Al and his eldest son would come to this island.
Now, just as he had predicted, they were brought here by a Unihorn whale.
Chen Yi stretched out his hand, slowly approaching the Unihorn whale.
The Unihorn whale was not wary; it heard the friendly sonar from its companions and slowly moved closer.
Chen Yi looked at it and then gently stroked its forehead.
Afterward, the Unihorn whale’s body shrank inward, as if gathering strength, then it stretched out violently, ejecting a fierce current from its blowhole.
With a loud bang, a canoe carrying two Logos people clad in animal skins burst forth with the current, the strong flow propelling them high into the air before they smoothly landed on the ground.
Al and Yarlessto steadied themselves in the canoe; they were in disarray and hadn’t even had the chance to rejoice at their sudden rescue, when looking up, they saw God watching them.
After the Unihorn whale had expelled the canoe, it felt much relieved.
Seeing that the luminous figure had swiftly alleviated its discomfort, the Unihorn whale gently shook its head, emitting a friendly sound.
Yarlessto felt disheveled and ashamed; he barely propped himself up, turned his head away, and dodged God’s gaze, wishing he could find a crevice to crawl into.
His father, however, was entirely different; Al stood up, unabashed in front of God, his face even revealing a relieved smile.
God looked at the two of them, stepped forward, and pointed at the Unihorns.
"Lord, who are they? Your messengers?"
Al looked at the Unihorns, feeling their friendliness.
"No, not messengers."
Chen Yi spoke:
"I bestow them unto you, and you unto them."
The Prophet paused for a moment, understanding the first part but confused about the latter’s meaning.
Seeing his confusion, like instructing a child, God advised Al,
"I tell you truly,
You are the children of today, and they, the children of tomorrow.
In the future, you shall be siblings, just like two grains of wheat falling to the ground, neither lost."
"Children..."
Al pondered these words, looking at the friendly group of Unihorn whales and found it unbelievable.
Could these large, horned creatures, like the Logos, eventually possess reason?
According to God, they are the children of the future... Does it mean they won’t be granted language like the Logos but would gradually gain rationality and a language of their own?
Al didn’t understand what that process would entail.
The Prophet, somewhat dazed, watched the whales; a broken-horned whale, noticing his gaze, then playfully rolled in the water, appearing friendly and adorable.
