Only God
Chapter 367 - 323

Chapter 367: 323

Nus Kingdom had set the day of its perceived arrival as the Arrival Festival, and every year on that day, the people of Logos would immerse themselves in a joyous celebration, wholeheartedly praising the grace of God. On that day, countless people would take ships across the sea to pilgrimage to the mountains.

The giant ancient tree grew on the mountain summit, its roots embedded in pure white snow—an incongruity that emphasized the sacredness of the tree.

The Nus Kingdom was isolated from the world, untouched by war and the plague that could not erupt amongst the disease-resistant Elves. They felt little impact from the overarching destruction, except for their withering wheat fields.

But that did not mean they were unmoved by grace. These Elves, who had been following Dertulian to establish the New Kingdom since their ancestors’ times, had their faith passed down through their bloodlines. When the brilliance from above shone down, almost the entire kingdom instinctively clasped their hands in prayer, looking up at the firmament.

No one would forget why the Nus Kingdom was established.

It originated from the second rational crisis—a group of people who refused to fall and desired to find where God resides.

Now, the mission for which Nus Kingdom was established had been completed.

God had returned. His angels descended from the mountains, mingling joyfully with the people of Logos and the True Believers, bringing divine revelations from God.

Devout Believers recorded every word spoken by the angels. Though these words could not compare to the status of the Holy Scriptures, they still found a place within the Church.

The appearance of the angels might have been a special favor from God to His firstborn.

This was what the people of Logos and the True Believers believed.

At the summit of the mountain, Solamus stood amid the wind and snow, now no longer in a mortal guise but revealing his Angelic form.

Maisy, the smallest of the Great Angels, whispered from behind him:

"Solamus, your story is already spreading among them. Soon, another monument will rise across the world."

"Maisy, I know, it’s something both God and I foresaw long ago."

Solamus said, then gently unfolded his Six Wings, welcoming the mountain breeze,

"The Law has arrived, even the high stars above are restrained. Like Curse God Yikabe, who dares not curse the race he created at whim anymore, and like Wine God Sibos, who also fears the Law and refrains from rashly protecting his progeny... I have proclaimed God’s return to all beings of heaven and earth, and it is time for my journey to end."

Maisy nodded admiringly, having endured a painful experience once, he was reluctant to wander through the mortal world again, and thus admired Solamus, the chief of the Great Angels.

"What do you think, how will they view my story?" Solamus shrugged and asked with a smile,

"Compared to the tales of Al, Dertulian, Yarlessto, Noen, and Xilan, my story is so mild, almost like a fairy tale that could be told to children."

Maisy shook his head, thought for a moment, and then chuckled softly:

"That’s wonderful, Solamus, truly wonderful. Those mythic tales,

seemingly strung together by an invisible thread, making every story tightly interconnected.

There must be countless adventurers who will set out on their journeys because of your story, seeking traces of your past existence."

Solamus also smiled, his face moving and beautiful.

During that journey, he had encountered many people, many events, and made countless friends; meeting some and parting with others. And with the descent of the Heavenly City, he had blown the shining horn, and his mission was finally accomplished.

Compared to the nearly eternal existence of angels, this journey was not long. And as time passed, as an angel lived through tens of thousands of years upon tens of thousands of years, this thousand-year journey would seem increasingly shorter in his memories.

Solamus no longer felt nostalgia for the world before him, for his friends had all moved on to a perfect place.

Facing the wind, Solamus turned around, slowly walking back to the Holy Realm above the Cloud Sea, murmuring softly:

"Goodbye."

A farewell was spoken.

A thousand-year journey concluded with a period.

.....................

.....................

How long are three thousand years?

For mortals, it’s enough to witness dozens of dynasties rise and fall.

Even for the long-lived Logos people, three millennia meant the passing of four to five generations.

Three thousand years after the descent of Heaven, the earth underwent myriad changes and cycles of prosperity and decline.

A thousand years after the descent, Hiris finally created his own race, it is said that He personally went to the Cloud Sea above, praying to God for the divine recipe to create a race.

Soon after, the Mountain and Craftsman deity began to create two new races beside various volcanoes, using materials such as clay, wood, and the flesh and blood of various animals.

One was giants, and the other was Dwarves.

Hiris’s plan was sensible and straightforward: robust giants utilized the high heat of volcanoes to build massive furnaces for the Dwarves, who were skilled and dedicated, processing ores and crafting miraculous items with their exquisite craftsmanship.

Hiris was pleased with His creations. Dwarves, being short, struggled to mine or build overly tall structures and had to rely on the giants who, straightforward and robust, could mine but found it challenging to work with precision tools...

The two races depended on and supported each other, nearly symbiotic in their relationship, much like the Logos people and unicorns in ancient times.

Soon after, the Dwarf Kingdom was established at the foot of the volcano. Hiris descended personally to create the first-ever furnace for these newly born races. He employed all His lifetime expertise with absolute focus and craftsmanship, culminating in this masterpiece.

Named the Initial Furnace, it served as both a site for smelting and forging for giants and Dwarves, and as their holy site and temple.

In the Initial Furnace, the Dwarves and giants built a statue of Hiris, praying to Him and, under His directions, also prayed to the father of the Gods.

Hiris was satisfied with all that He saw, observing the comings and goings of life below, imagining their various futures.

Wondering what changes these two races would bring to the land in the future, Hiris did not know. He could only look forward with anticipation, welcoming each new day and year.
