Chapter 262: Chapter 225: The Vanguard of the Divine Kingdom’s Descent

"Why? Solamus, why is your desire so strong?"

God saw the volition of Solamus.

"God! You can clearly see what I am thinking with just one glance."

Solamus said somewhat embarrassingly in a soft voice.

"I do not intend to gaze directly into your hearts, even though you have nothing to hide in my presence,"

Chen Yi said with a smile.

Solamus nodded and the Angel quietly voiced his thoughts:

"Oh God, mortals pray upon the Earth, and even we Angels, here, pray as well."

"What does prayer truly mean? I often ponder unbidden, for many mortals, prayer is a plea, but how much is there for us Angels to ask for?"

As Chen Yi looked at Solamus, He heard the emotions in that confiding voice.

"Then, have you thought of an answer?"

God asked.

Solamus nodded slightly, his eyebrows and eyes curving as he spoke softly:

"I have come to know, I understand, what prayer truly means.

In this world, many people have pleas and desires, for which they repeatedly complicate what was originally simple and make what was arbitrary become solemn.

Over time, things become more complex, and matters more serious, burying what was once fundamental. And if questioned, they say it has always been so since our ancestors’ time.

In this world, that simplest form of prayer has been forgotten by many, no longer used, as if it had been dried up by time, losing all meaning."

God then asked him,

"What kind of prayer are you speaking of?"

The Angel raised his face and replied:

"It’s ’I hope’! It’s ’I am willing’!"

I hope, I am willing.

That is the simplest form of prayer in the world.

"We Angels are so close to you, yet the closer we are, the more we pray, because we have hopes, we have wishes."

The Great Angel Solamus bathed in the effulgent glow emanating from God, pouring out what was in his heart,

"God.

I want to pray to you. I hope to bring your brilliance to the Earth; I hope all peoples will be saved in your name.

God, you created me and did so much for me; I want to do something for you, because I want to do it, and I am willing to do it.

Even though what I do pales in significance compared to what you have done for us."

Solamus poured out his heart, in the presence of God, where Angels could speak without any reservations.

They bask in the joy created by God, hoping that God would also be pleased.

Chen Yi looked at Solamus, gently caressing his face.

"Solamus, my Solamus.

Let it be as you wish.

After this, you will have a mission, you will endure hardships."

Solamus kissed the back of God’s hand and then slowly rose to his feet, his eyes twinkling with light,

"What is my mission?"

God gazed into the distance, His vision passing unimaginable lengths, to the lands above.

Besides God himself, no Angel knew where God’s gaze was directed.

Solamus waited in anticipation, quietly.

"Solamus,

In later days, you are to go onto the Earth.

You will be the vanguard of the Heavenly City, proclaiming my Law, my creation, onto the Earth.

Among mortals, you will leave seventy-seven prophecies,

and if anyone asks who you are,

when the time is right, you will tell the world:

You are both Angel and Prophet, chosen by me before you went unto the Mortal World."

The Divine Angel is to go once more unto the Earth.

But this time,

the Angel comes not for the pleasure of God,

but to announce the Divine Kingdom. After fulfilling the mission, the Angel will depart from among mortals and return to God’s side.

The Angel will be the harbinger of Heaven’s descent, sounding the horn of the Divine’s resurrection and birth.

Ajia Land.

Xilan led the believers as they knelt before the altar, reciting their prayers, and then, following past tradition, he preached to the believers, explaining the scriptures.

His life was like this, uneventful, yet not lacking in flavor; whether it was the admiration of the people, the servitude to God, or the joy of drawing close to Him, Xilan found spiritual fulfillment.

After the sermon, the believers gradually dispersed, and Daniel slowly stood up from the ground. He pulled a letter from his bosom and handed it to Xilan.

"Is this a letter from Hermit Naya?"

"Yes, it was delivered by a messenger this morning."

Daniel said.

Xilan unfolded the papyrus and read it carefully, then folded it back up, smiled at Daniel, and said,

"The letter says that the disciple named Antion has already arrived in Ajia Land and has met with Queen Isis.

After hearing the debate between Naya and us on that rainy night, he became very interested in us and will come to visit us tomorrow."

After saying this, Xilan handed the letter back to Daniel.

After reading the letter once more, Daniel’s gaze lingered on a certain sentence.

In the letter, Hermit addressed Xilan as Master Xilan, which was a form of politeness and also a sign of respect.

"Teacher, we are changing the entire Kingdom, even the hermits of Kagawus are discussing the truth with us."

Daniel said thoughtfully.

It’s always pleasing to receive recognition, especially from hermits and the priests of Kagawus, who could be considered opponents of the Church at the moment.

"Let’s get ready, Daniel."

Xilan smiled, without saying much more.

......................

After the noon prayer the following day, Daniel, who had been waiting outside New Rule Garden for a long time, looked into the distance.

A short time later, Daniel saw a figure slowly advancing in the sunlight; as he approached New Rule Garden, Daniel could make out his features more clearly.

He was unmistakably a young Three-eyed Ape Man in his early twenties, his Eye of Prophecy on the forehead slightly closed, his two eyes clear and bright, but as he drew closer, Daniel suddenly felt that his pupils were as profound as the Abyss.

"Are you... Antion?"

When the young man approached, Daniel asked.

"Yes, it’s me."

Antion raised his head, revealing a gentle smile.

That smile gave Daniel a feeling as if bathed in the spring breeze, and the tone of Antion’s voice sounded like that of a courteous scholar.

"Where is your teacher?"

Daniel looked into the distance but did not see the Hermit.

"It’s just me by myself."

Antion said, his eyes scanning the New Rule Garden in front of him,

"May I take a look inside? I would very much like to visit Master Xilan."

Daniel nodded, turned around, and led Antion into New Rule Garden.

Not long after, when the study door of New Rule Garden was knocked upon, Daniel brought Antion inside.

Xilan put down the scripture in his hands, raised his head, and looked at Antion with a warm gaze.

"Hello, Master Xilan."

Antion bowed,

"Your profound knowledge has already been spoken of among us."

Xilan stood up, came forward,

"Hello, Antion, may your God protect you. Your teacher left a deep impression on me; he is one of the wisest men I’ve ever met."

Antion smiled and then followed Xilan as they sat down together.

"Master Xilan, I’m here hoping to learn about your God, your faith.

At the same time, I will also tell you about our Kagawus."

Xilan said,

"I look forward to it, so let’s not stand on ceremony. Where would you like me to begin?"

Antion then spoke,

"The Covenant, I would like to start with the covenant between your Prophets and God."

Daniel, who was overhearing the conversation, was not surprised by Antion’s question.

Many believers who’d been in contact with New Rule Garden for a while would inevitably be curious about the covenant between God and mortals.

So, Antion’s question was within Daniel’s expectations.

Perhaps he would ask why God had made a covenant with mortals.

Daniel thought this to himself.

"Master Xilan, I’d like to know, did God make a covenant with the Prophets because it is a mission bestowed upon the Prophets by God?"

Antion posed his question.

Daniel was momentarily stunned and incredulously glanced at Antion.

As the proponent of "predestination," Daniel keenly sensed that Antion’s question carried the meaning of "predestination."

He was surprised that this disciple of the Hermit could ask such a subtle question.
