Chapter 144: Chapter 124 Angel to Bestow Grace

The angels of the Holy Realm had lived these three thousand years carefree.

Over these three thousand years, the Gods who had witnessed the destruction of the Logos Kingdom once hoped to find the so-called abode of angels, yet each time they came up empty-handed, unaware that the angels existed in the dreams of God.

Created by the spirit of God, they were immortal and not sensitive to the passage of time; to them, three thousand years might as well have been thirty.

Ever since the Great Angel Solamus called upon the other seven Great Angels to create the angelic trial, the eight of them had tried countless individuals.

However, over the three thousand years, only a scant dozen or so individuals had passed the angelic trial and stepped into that dreamlike and fantastical scenery.

This problem plagued the Great Angels, who debated numerous times whether the trial was too difficult and whether they should reduce the challenges, but in the end, Solamus always stood firm against the multitude of opinions, insisting that the trial remain as it was.

Even though those who passed the angelic trial were very few, the Great Angels took great joy whenever a dozen individuals managed to succeed.

Moreover, through the angelic trial, the Great Angels had also learned much about the changes in the outside world.

The sacred mountain of the former Logos Kingdom, since its destruction, had become a pilgrimage site for the mountain-dwelling Elves who journeyed across the sea and traversed rugged terrains to the mountain’s altar; there, they presented offerings and lingered three to four days before returning to the New Kingdom.

Due to the ruin of the old Logos Kingdom, much of the technology of old either perished in the dust of history or was carried into the deserts by the fleeing Three-eyed Ape People and some of the Logos population. The mountain-dwelling Elves of the New Kingdom could not access the former technologies and also lost interest in them; thus, even after three thousand years, the New Kingdom’s scenery had barely changed from that of three millennia prior.

In contrast to the slow-developing New Logos Kingdom, Solamus learned from a trialist who had passed the trial that the Unihorn whales had instead built their own kingdom under the sea.

They mated and intermarried with the melodious, beautiful, and delicate Sea Demons and subsequently gave birth to beings resembling whales with unicorns — the Elves sometimes referred to these whale people as "merfolk."

The Whale People combined the characteristics of two great races: they could control the sea water and possessed the intelligence of the Sea Demons; they were a kind of Unihorn whale, yet also a kind of Sea Demon.

Their emergence brought about a huge change in Unihorn whale civilization. The Unihorn whales created their own written language. Like the Logos people of old, they began writing their own myths and histories, and constructed their altars under the sea using water, gravity, and coral to erect a magnificent undersea city.

The Whale People also retained the Unihorn whales’ simple and unadorned nature—they harbored few desires, coexisting happily with any intelligent species.

Simultaneously, the Whale People were somewhat xenophobic, at times not fully trusting even the Elves.

Whale People, Unihorn whales, Sea Demons—collectively, they constituted an Undersea Kingdom that the mountain-dwelling Elves collectively called the Sea Clan.

What most astonished the angels was the faith of this Undersea Kingdom.

As a result of the Unihorn whales and Sea Demons uniting through marriage, the Undersea Kingdom worshipped both the rationality-gifting Lord and the Water God Angel. The Sea Clan placed the Lord in the highest position of worship and regarded the Water God Angel as a Subordinate God to the Lord.

There were even some Sea Clan members, with limited understanding, who thought of the Water God Angel as another part of the Lord or as the offspring of the Lord; this peculiar idea made the inherently kind-hearted angels laugh for a long time.

Beyond the Logos people and Sea Clan, the angels also heard of a kingdom in the desert from the mouths of the Trialists.

Solamus knelt before the Divine Throne, eagerly sharing with God:

"God, those Three-eyed Ape People that Maisy is fond of, after they returned to the desert thousands of years ago, gradually established a vast Kingdom.

They thrived by relying on the technologies from the original Logos people. We heard from those Trialists that the Temples of the Three-eyed Ape People are grand and splendid, lined with gold leaf."

Chen Yi watched the angel before him, patiently listening to his endless talk.

"Drawing on the wisdom of the former Logos people, their wheat grows tall and plentiful, their cattle and sheep tender and plump; they also construct carriages and cast bronzeware!

The transformation of this kingdom truly stunned the angels.

The Three-eyed Ape People offered their worships in their Temples to the Prophetic God Kagawus, and they also incorporated the faith of the Logos people by building an altar dedicated to you beside their Temple.

Of course, aside from that, the Three-eyed Ape People have also built collective Temples for other Divine beings, allowing the Divine Statues to be worshipped together."

Solamus poured out his heart to God, knowing that these earthly matters held little significance for Him, no matter how novel or complex they were.

Solamus understood that even if the Three-eyed Ape People immediately abandoned Kagawus and collectively converted to God, God would not have much of a reaction, perhaps only comforting Himself by lightly touching His own forehead.

Despite this, Solamus still hoped to tell God about the changes in the world.

After he had told everything, Solamus looked towards God on the throne.

Chen Yi said nothing, simply stroking Solamus’s hair as usual.

Solamus couldn’t help but feel somewhat dazed; these matters that could intrigue the angels for years failed to stir even a ripple in God.

Perhaps... in the eyes of the Most High God, there has never been anything new under the sun?

Chen Yi rose from the throne and seemed to peer directly into Solamus’s thoughts.

"What is it, Solamus?"

Solamus was somewhat at a loss for words and after some time, he asked softly,

"God, is there nothing new in the world for you?"

Chen Yi simply smiled.

He lifted his head, gazing out over the cloud sea in all directions.

He could not yet awaken from this dream.

Because once awakened, the dream would shatter, and everything within it, be it the angels or the things created by the angels, would vanish without a trace.

Unless...

His existence became fully stabilized in this world, His dream becoming the dream of the entire world.

Then, whether He was awake or not, the Holy Realm would exist forever.

Solamus at his side had no idea what God was thinking and sank into dejection.

Then, the Great Angel Leader suddenly remembered something and spoke softly,

"I heard from a Trialist,

that each of the Gods grants their own believers various blessings."

God heard this and nodded slightly.

"God," we have learned from the mouths of Trialists that many mortals in this world do not know you, do not know of a creator; they only know of the so-called Gods and receive the blessings of these Gods."

Solamus recounted what the angels had seen and heard and then continued,

"God, do we bestow upon the world our blessings like the Gods do?

We are your angels; our brilliance is a reflection of your light,

Through us, angels, people can see your brilliance, just as sunlight is seen on the surface of the water,

And they will ultimately know that within this Holy Realm, the figure of the creator still stands above the Cloud Sea."
