Chapter 141 - 122 What if Our Father is Not a Good God

Chapter 141: Chapter 122 What if Our Father is Not a Good God

The God of Mountains and Craftsmanship, Hiris, was a star that had awakened its self-consciousness later than the others. At the moment, He gazed at the world beyond the Celestial Kingdom.

After the Country of Divines was completed, Hiris yearned to create a wise race that revered the mountains, mined ore, and swung hammers to forge divine weapons.

Within the Celestial Kingdom, quite a few divine beings created races rather carelessly, even on a whim, fueled by enthusiasm, and with a burst of imagination, they simply fashioned races out of the earth.

Such races were not only incredibly fragile, unable to withstand natural disasters, but also lacked the necessary survival skills. Even if the divine beings put in great effort, these races would still perish of thirst or starvation on the land.

Over three thousand years, who knew how many races created by divine beings hadn’t even formed tribes before they vanished in the river of time.

Hiris resolved to learn from their lessons, and for this reason, He was as cautious as He could possibly be.

After the Kingdom of the Country of Divines was established, the God of Mountains and Craftsmanship sought out several divines who had successfully created races, such as Prophetic God Kagawus, Water God Angel, and Wine God Sibos, among others. The earnest He diligently noted every single key point, to be prepared for any necessity.

Soon after, Hiris sorted the tips He had gathered, from how a race can survive to how a civilization can be established. Then, to His surprise, He discovered that although the various races each had their own traits, they indeed shared common, almost identical, characteristics.

Like writing, laws, history, rituals... In many places, despite the differences among the various races, they coincidentally aligned on crucial aspects.

It was as if they were crafted in the imitation of the same race.

"Could this be a coincidence..."

Holding a hammer, Hiris murmured to Himself:

"No, it’s the Logos people!"

The God of Mountains and Craftsmanship smacked His forehead abruptly, suddenly recalling the Ancient Elf Kingdom once mentioned by Divine King Shan’en.

Ancient Elf Kingdom.

Which was also referred to by those five earliest self-aware divines as:

"Logos Kingdom."

Hiris whispered to Himself.

The God of Mountains and Craftsmanship knew very little about the Logos Kingdom.

In fact, if it hadn’t been for His intent to create a race, He wouldn’t have even remembered that there once was an Ancient Elf Kingdom in this world.

The reason was simple: the gods rarely spoke of that long-lived group of Elves.

Hiris had only occasionally heard Divine King Shan’en mention it briefly in the Temple of the King of Gods.

In fact, not just Hiris, in the Country of Divines, the vast majority of divines barely remembered the ancient race of Elves.

In the general perception of the divine beings, the Elves, or the Logos people, were simply too ancient, too mysterious. The only thing they knew was that the history of the Elves seemed to be a lost history and that the once Logos Kingdom was a lost kingdom.

Now, from the commonalities of several races created by the early divine beings, Hiris "rediscovered" the Elves.

"Elves, or should I say the Logos people... exactly what kind of race were they..."

Hiris couldn’t help but mutter to Himself.

All of a sudden, a question struck Him.

"The one who created the Logos people... seems to be... our Father."

Upon this thought, Hiris felt a twinge of surprise.

The Father of the gods, like the Logos people, was likewise seldom mentioned by the divine beings.

Holding the handle of His hammer, Hiris scratched His head, built from ore, and quietly said to Himself:

"Our Father, He seems to have created the Logos people.

I should ask the other gods to see if they know who our Father is."

Muttering to Himself thus far, the God of Mountains and Craftsmanship suddenly found Himself with a new aspiration, and His chest involuntarily puffed up.

"... Could I... appeal directly to our Father,

and beg Him to tell me, how exactly to create a great race!"

...

Resolved to act, the God of Mountains and Craftsmanship Hiris began to search for tales of the Father of the gods in the Country of Divines.

Since the Country of Divines was built, Divine King Shan’en had required that the gods reside perennially in the Celestial Kingdom, located on the Historical Star, so their divine powers would bolster the foundation of the entire Divine Kingdom.

Hiris first sought familiar divine beings, asking them for information about the legendary Father.

Similar to Hiris, those divines were also bewildered, no more knowledgeable than Hiris, whether about the Elves or the Father of the gods.

"We awoke to our self-awareness at the time the Country of Divines was constructed, we do not know of the past."

The divine beings told Hiris that.

Hiris couldn’t help feeling disappointed, but He quickly rallied His spirits.

"Hiris, why not ask those divines who existed before the building of the Country of Divines, and pose your questions to them."

The God of Mountains and Craftsmanship gladly accepted the proposal of those divine beings.

However, to whom should He inquire about the history of the Elves and the Father of the gods?

The first who came to mind for Hiris was the Forest God Lipo.

Because the Forest God had once received His favor.

Decades ago, the Forest God, wishing to capture two elusive spirit deer in the forest, requested Hiris to create a divine artifact capable of catching up to the spirit deer.

Hiris gladly agreed. He combined the hair of ninety different female animals with molten brass, and finally, Hiris forged a noose that could catch up to the spirit deer. Once thrown, no matter how far the spirit deer ran, as soon as it stopped for a single step, the noose would unfailingly ensnare it.

The Forest God, holding the noose, flung it with all His might within the corridor between the Celestial Kingdom and the outside world. After forty days, He captured both panting spirit deer and kept them in the forests of the Country of Divines.
