Chapter 59: Do You Have Sympathy

Chapter 59 - 59: Do You Have Sympathy

Sophie Smith took Asher Land to the hospital. The doctor glanced at Asher's condition and couldn't help but frown.

"Doctor, is he going to be okay?" Sophie's gaze turned to Asher. His face was somewhat pale, and though his body was strong, it couldn't withstand losing so much blood.

"He needs a blood transfusion immediately; it's lucky you came to the hospital in time." After the doctor spoke, he immediately gave Asher the transfusion.

Asher sat on the hospital bed, saying nothing, simply eying her cheek with amusement.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"Can't I look at my woman?"

Here we go again! Every time, he insists on having it his way.

Sophie sat beside Asher at the bedside. By the time the transfusion was over, it was late. They both left the hospital together. She had to return to Eastern City today since she needed to go to the film set tomorrow.

As they walked to the parking lot, Asher was about to open the car door, but Sophie hurried ahead and opened it for him.

After completing this gesture, she raised her eyes and coincidentally caught the smile in Asher's eyes.

She had only opened the car door for him because he injured his hand while saving her. Sophie secretly convinced herself.

She successfully drove back to Eastern City. For someone who is often reckless on the road, this was truly an achievement. Fortunately, with Asher guiding her throughout the journey, she felt much more at ease.

The unsettling feelings from this Saturday, spent in Southern County, still lingered in her heart.

Back at the apartment, she didn't even turn on the living room lights, just running straight into the room.

Thus, Boss Land, still a patient, was left behind like that.

The room was also pitch dark. He felt around for the light switch, and with slender fingers pressed down, instantly the master bedroom became transparent and bright.

"Do you have any sympathy left?" Asher crossed his arms, looking down at Sophie sitting on the bed.

Sympathy?

"Do you need sympathy now?" Sophie inquired.

He held out his bandage-wrapped hand in front of her, "Doesn't this deserve sympathy?"

Sophie sighed. Today's incident indeed had ties to her.

"So, what do you plan on doing now?" She asked, helplessly looking at him, "I didn't intend to put myself in harm's way today. I never expected you would get injured..."

As she spoke, she actually felt a bit guilty.

"Compensate me well tonight, and this matter is settled," he said.

"I..." She hadn't even said 'no' when she was stunned by Asher's intense gaze.

His handsome features softened considerably under the lighting. He curled his enticing lips and slowly approached her.

With her eyes closed, Sophie turned her head away.

Inwardly, Asher sneered. Every time he wanted her, she either resisted vehemently or bore a forced, aggrieved expression, which irritated him.

He roughly pinned her beneath him, a vengeful pursuit.

His movements were bold, seemingly forgetting he still had a ten-centimeter wound on his hand.

Sophie was tormented severely, feeling her body about to fall apart. She wanted to cry out for it to stop, but at this point, if she showed any insensitivity, Asher would surely become even angrier with her.

Her nails dug harshly into her flesh, a trace of blood flowing out and staining the pure white sheets.

Now, she felt stripped of dignity, not knowing whether it was tears or sweat streaming down her small face, inexplicably adding a few touches of charm to her.

A night of madness.
