Chapter 81: Chapter 79 Trending News [Update 1]

In the next few days, she remained sullen, her mind preoccupied with the matter.

Finally, on the third day, she came to a decision. Regarding the bid proposal, she decided to turn a blind eye and not get involved.

If this time Liam Spencer succeeds, he’ll have countless ways to make her find him in the future.

This kind of thing is like a swamp; once you fall in, you can’t get out, and you sink deeper and deeper, always being controlled by him.

She didn’t want her life to be ruined by that jerk. That time was just an accident, like being bitten by a dog, better to just ignore it.

Meanwhile, in Liam Spencer’s office, he was constantly pulling tissues out of the box, sneezing.

Thinking, what a curse, he just kissed her once, and actually caught a cold.

What frustrated him more was that he had been waiting for her for a full three days, waiting for her to come to him for her second brother, but she showed no sign of action.

At that moment, he angrily threw a wad of tissue paper into the bin, pulled out another sheet from the box, and muttered to himself, "Good for you, Maya Spencer, can really keep your cool."

Actually, Liam knew in his heart that she wasn’t keeping her cool but was completely ignoring his threats, ignoring whether her brother could secure this project.

He thought, apparently, her relationship with Kinsley isn’t that deep, not as close as with the Turner siblings.

Thinking of this, he smiled wryly, indifferent to things that don’t concern him. Indeed, she was still the same Maya as always, probably just putting on a face for Kinsley.

Maya didn’t take the bait, and instead, it made Liam quite happy. Thinking of her little face, he unwillingly smiled.

When he was feeling quite good, there was suddenly a knock on the door, and feeling a bit lifted, he said, "Come in!"

"BOSS!" The person who entered after pushing the door open was Elijah Reed.

Seeing Liam with red eyes and nose, he asked excitedly, as if discovering a new continent, "BOSS, why are you crying?"

Hearing Elijah say he was crying, Liam unceremoniously threw the tissue wad in his hand at him, impatiently explaining, "What do you mean crying, it’s a cold."

"BOSS, you actually caught a cold, that’s amazing! I’ve been with you for four years, and it’s the first time I’ve seen you sick. Let me go get you some medicine." Upon hearing Liam had a cold, Elijah hurriedly turned to leave to buy medicine, but Liam stopped him and said, "No need, what do you have for me?"

Liam said there was no need, so Elijah immediately turned back, handed the file in his hand to Liam, and said, "BOSS, the second master is also participating in this project’s bidding. The departments think the second master’s proposal is quite good. It’s now through the second round, and everyone is waiting for your opinion."

"Kinsley Spencer! Spencer Clan Group." Liam flipped through the materials Elijah handed over, mumbling, but his mind flashed to Maya.

So, he said, "No rush, let’s postpone the bid meeting for three days."

"Okay, BOSS."

Liam wanted to see what would happen if he pushed the bid meeting back a few days, to give someone a hard time, see if she’d still not have any reaction.

Thinking about this past half month, he had only seen her briefly in the parking lot; he took a deep breath, his heart itching.

He leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes to rest, thinking how great it would be if she were right in front of him now, in his office.

"Achoo!" Caught up in his thoughts, he sneezed again.

He disdainfully rolled his eyes at himself, indicating that the sneeze interrupted his fantasy.

When he reached for a tissue, he saw the phone beside the tissue box, grabbed it, opened WeChat, and looked through someone’s profile, only to remember she had long since deleted him. Remembering she deleted his WeChat, he got irritated again, exited WeChat, and immediately found her number, drafted a text message, and sent it.

He said, "You gave me a cold, how will you take responsibility?"

On the other end, Maya looked at the text message he sent, scoffed coldly, and ignored it.

She thought, serves you right! Who asked you to kiss me? Besides, she had warned him that she was getting a cold, yet he was persistent! Who’s to blame.

She just pretended she didn’t see the text message, didn’t reply, curious to see what he’d do next. Anyway, she had already decided not to get involved with the bidding proposal anymore, let him play as he pleases, as long as he’s happy.

"Maya, why the sour face?" At this point, Kinsley came over, looked at her with a full-faced expression of disdain, walked over to her side, and ruffled her hair, asking her.

"Nothing, just received a boring text message." Then she asked, "Second brother, weren’t you going to bid at the Owen Clan? Isn’t today the last round?"

"The Owen Clan suddenly postponed the bidding meeting." Kinsley said and then sat down opposite her desk.

Maya listened to the man’s explanation, and immediately, her face turned darker, thinking that it must be that jerk’s doing, and he’d just sent her a text message too, clearly reminding her to answer to his scheming.

He doesn’t understand her well at all, thinking that by giving her trouble, she would compromise? Spencer family business affairs, she won’t participate, no matter how he threatens, she’s set on this.

So she changed the topic, talking about things completely unrelated to work.

While they were happily chatting, Kinsley’s phone rang. He answered and heard the other side interrogate him, "You rascal, back in the country and not coming out for a gathering, turned out you’re busy with romance. There’s a gathering tomorrow night, bring your girlfriend along."

Kinsley listened to the man’s words, dazed for a moment, hurriedly explaining, "I don’t have a girlfriend!"

When Kinsley was in college, he had a girlfriend, but after they broke up, he remained single, never dating again.

"You liar, stop pretending. The whole world knows, and you’re still acting dumb! Don’t be stingy, bring her along for dinner tomorrow night."

"Old Harris, I really don’t have a girlfriend, where did you hear the news?"

"No way! You really don’t have a girlfriend? Then who’s the girl in those close photos on the front page?"

"Trending news, photos?" This time, Kinsley was even more dumbfounded, hurriedly hanging up the phone and checking his phone.

Seeing this, Maya quickly asked, "Second brother, what’s wrong?"

"Trending news says I’m in a relationship." After saying this, both of them grabbed their phones at the same time to check the news.

Upon seeing the exposed photos, both their faces turned pale, what a load of nonsense!
