No Trespassing! My Aloof Brother

Chapter 80: Chapter 78: Principal and Interest [2nd Update]

Maya Spencer received a phone call just as Kinsley Spencer had left.

Holding the phone in her hand, she answered reflexively. If she had looked for a second longer or listened for a second more, she wouldn’t have answered it.

But the call was already connected, and she didn’t dare to hang up randomly. Most importantly, since Kinsley was going to a bidding now, and she was with him, she worried that angering this person could affect Kinsley’s work.

So, taking a deep breath, she pretended to be calm and said, "I don’t understand work matters, and since it involves bidding, I’m here, so it’s inconvenient."

The man listened to her excuse and deliberately tested her by asking, "Third Brother invites you to the office, will you give him face?"

"Third Brother, I have a cold today. I’ll visit your office next time when I’m better." In fact, she really did have a cold today.

The man listened to her delaying again, hung up the phone, with a slight smile at the corners of his mouth, took a deep breath, then exhaled, pushed open the car door, stretched his long legs, got out, and walked straight towards the vehicle Maya was sitting in.

Maya saw the man’s approaching figure and hurriedly pushed open the car door and got out.

She clearly remembered the last time being tied up by him in the car, and she didn’t want to experience the same abuse a second time.

To take care of his emotions and not anger him, she took a deep breath, raised her right hand, swept the strands of hair before her eyes behind her ear, and calmly spread a smile, calling out to him with a cheerful voice, "Third Brother!"

From the sound of her voice, he could tell she was truly sick, and quite seriously at that.

The man watched her calm smile and poised demeanor. Without needing to think much, he knew what she cared about! He hadn’t expected that Kinsley was the only person she cared about in the Spencer Family. This left him feeling unbalanced internally, and he approached her step by step, his gaze seemingly wanting to swallow her.

Having not seen her for over ten days, she seemed to have recovered well, looking a bit more rounded and fresh than before. Surely, the feel of touching her would be quite nice.

So he said, "I wasn’t around, but you’ve become fresh and tender."

"Haha, being off work, there’s no stress, so I got better," she replied.

"Maya Spencer, it seems you really like Kinsley Spencer, always sticking close to him wherever he goes."

"Third Brother, you’re overthinking things. My relationship with Second Brother is purely simple."

The meaning behind the man’s words was clear to her; he was merely implying that she was seducing Kinsley. Heaven and Earth knows! Her relationship with Kinsley was completely normal. Did he think every man was as perverted as he was?

The man listened to her explanation and took two steps forward, sticking closely to her body.

Maya saw this, quickly stepped back a few steps, pinning herself tightly against the car.

Then, the man raised his right hand, pinched her chin, and leaned down, wanting to kiss her, but she swiftly raised a small hand to block him.

She said, "Third Brother, I’m really sick, it’ll infect you." Even if she wasn’t sick, she wouldn’t let him kiss her either.

Liam Spencer looked at her resistance, grabbed her wrist, and brushed his lips against the back of her hand, asking, "Do you also refuse Kinsley like this?"

Maya covered her mouth and carefully explained, "Second Brother never tries to kiss me. If he really wanted to, I’d refuse him too."

He was satisfied with her explanation, slightly smiling, as he pulled away her little hand and unabashedly kissed her lips.

Maya gazed at him with wide eyes, motionless, wanting to refuse but not daring to. So she stared steadily at him.

After releasing her, he wrapped his left arm around her waist, gently pulling her into his arms. His right hand supported the back of her head and pushed forward, making her lips crash directly onto his lips. Pressed against her lips, he said,

"For Kinsley’s bid, I’ll let him pass the first two rounds. If he really wants to secure this bid, you come find me, come alone.

Finally, he embraced her and said, "Maya, don’t forget our agreement, remember to pay me back with interest."

After reminding her of this, he released her, stepped away, turned around, and walked off without looking back.

This was the easiest he’d ever let her go, leaving Maya somewhat bewildered.

Watching his disappearing figure, recalling his threats and reminders, Maya was on the brink of collapse. Those promises she made were just things she said in a hurry; she never intended to keep them.

She complied with him in every way, even when he kissed her, she didn’t push him away. Ultimately, she somehow implicated Second Brother.

Inside the car, she folded her arms and furrowed her brows tightly, unable to calm her mood for a long while. What should she do? Should she really go plead with him? She didn’t want to, but thinking of how Kinsley was endlessly preparing the bid documents, she couldn’t bear to see his hopes dashed. After all, they were on the same team, fellow comrades.

If she had known she’d run into Liam Spencer in the parking lot, she would never have come. Staying at home and sleeping well or remaining in the office were all better choices, but what was she thinking, coming to Owen Clan Group and getting caught by him.

She was about to lose it!

Two hours later, Kinsley Spencer came down, opened the car door, and asked the girl inside if she was hungry.

Maya, looking at the man’s cheerful appearance, didn’t know how to tell him about what had happened earlier. She couldn’t explain it clearly, and definitely couldn’t tell him! She couldn’t afford to lose face like that.

The man noticed Maya’s sullen look, fastened the seatbelt with his left hand, and rubbed her head with his right hand, asking, "Maya, what’s wrong? Why have you suddenly wilted?"

"It’s nothing, I’m just thinking whether we can win this bid or not." Maya forced a smile,

"Initially, everyone seems quite satisfied with us. But there are two more rounds to go. Only after passing the third round can it be considered secured." The man explained to Maya while starting the vehicle.

Listening to the man’s explanation, Maya turned her head and earnestly asked, "Second Brother, is this project very important? What if it doesn’t succeed? Some people are really neurotic."

"It’s important if you say it’s important; it’s not if you say it’s not. Liam Spencer never collaborates with the Spencer Clan. Grandpa really wants to develop alongside him, and if we can secure this project, Grandpa would naturally be pleased."

"Why doesn’t he cooperate with the Spencer Clan?"

"According to him, he looks at capability, not relationships."

"Pssh! What a show-off." Maya disdainfully dismissed it, meanwhile starting to feel conflicted inside.

What should she do? Should she really send herself into the tiger’s mouth or throw herself into the wolf’s den? She knew he had ulterior motives towards her, and she didn’t really want to help the Spencer Clan either. But looking at Kinsley, she felt an invisible pressure, suffocating her, always wondering if things might have been different if Liam hadn’t caught her today.
