Chapter 91: Magical appliance

"You startled us, Coco." The pink haired woman hissed, her eyebrows furrowed, "Must you slam the door open just like that?"

"Sorry." Coco halfheartedly apologized, her eyes still on the magical equipment in front of her, sensing that it was hers somehow and wishing she wasn’t assuming anything.

"This is the freezer you have asked for." A familiar voice said, making Coco turn to the owner.

"I delivered the fruits that my client asked for and he was tremendously satisfied with the quality." Mrs. Tani stated as she smiled softly towards Coco, "He immediately sent this freezer over to show how satisfied he was."

Coco’s ears rang, the word ’satisfied’ echoing loudly in her mind, and made her smile wide.

"He was satisfied." Coco mumbled under her breath, repeating what Mrs. Tani had just said to herself, a sense of pride swirling inside her chest.

Who knew that hearing someone said that they were satisfied with Lala’s fruit would make her this proud?

Nodding her head, Coco dropped the flying pig on the counter and stared at the magical freezer, her eyes shining in wonder and excitement.

She walked towards it and started engraving the appliance in her mind.

The large magical freezer has a dark grey surface that is smooth and reflective, the metal surface of the freezer was cold to the touch, its heavy steel doors were closed tightly— the only breaks in the otherwise seamless surface are the holes at the front.

In front of the freezer, right at the center of the freezer, there were five holes, each hole the same size as her palm.

The holes were aligned in the middle of the freezer’s front, the five of them standing out against the shiny surface, the holes were currently empty, smooth and polished.

Coco couldn’t help, but wonder.

"What do you put in these holes?" She asked, not turning away from the freezer, her hand reaching out to touch the vacant spot and humming softly when she felt that it didn’t have bumps.

"Magic stones." Mrs. Tani said with her answer, then it was soon followed by the sound of footsteps.

A medium sized bag was shoved in Coco’s face and took her off guard, making her flinch slightly as she snapped her head to look at the person who scared her.

"These magical stones are on me, no need to pay for it." Mrs. Tani smiled down at Coco, a mischievous glint in her eyes, having caught the black haired woman in surprise, "Of course, you still need to replenish each magic stone with mana, every day, without fail."

Coco nodded her head and wordlessly took the bag out of Mrs. Tani’s hand, "So, we can use this as soon as tonight?"

"Why, of course! I know that this freezer is for this shop so I bought it here instead of your house." The merchant started as she patted the freezer gently, "You can even leave it on overnight if you have leftover meat, but you will have to replenish the stone the next morning."

Coco’s ears rang out with the sound of money.

"That’s exactly what I was planning to do!" Coco exclaimed, a gleeful expression on her face.

"You ladies should focus on that freezer while I start butchering the monster Coco bought back." Renaldo spoke up, pointing a thumb over to the flying pig laying on the table.

"I had a hard time catching that one so you better have fun!" Coco called out and laughed audibly under her breath as she grabbed the magic stones out of the bag.

The magic stone she has on her hand is a bright cyan in color, almost too big to call it the same size as her palm.

"Coco, don’t replenish it in one go—" Jacques tried to earn her friend, but she stopped talking when Coco simply raised a hand to assure her.

The magic stone suddenly came to life, a bright glow emanating from its surface. The glow quickly turned to a bright hue, the color spreading outwards as the stone drew in Coco’s mana.

Coco’s body trembled, her energy draining away as the stone latched onto her power.

Since the magic stone this time was bigger than the magic stone she bought last time, the mana it sucked out of her was larger than the last amount.

The stone glowed brighter and brighter as it took in Coco’s energy, its glow illuminating Coco’s surroundings.

With the magic stone glowing with a bright and almost blinding light, its power is almost visible in the air around it, making Coco close her eyes for a quick moment.

She could feel her strength draining slowly, her body growing tired with each passing moment as the stone continued to suck her energy to its heart content.

She thought that it wanted to suck everything out of her, but surprisingly, the sucking sensation stopped.

"Are you okay?" Mrs. Tani asked, watching as the stone got filled in at an alarming speed.

It wasn’t supposed to be that fast.

The people she knows couldn’t replenish the magic stone’s mana in one go, but Coco Hughes filled the stone in one go, right in front of her.

That scene alone is enough to make Mrs. Tani hardens her resolve to not let Coco go.

Not to any merchant else, at least.

"I’m okay." Coco hummed out, raising the magic stone and putting it on the empty slots in front of the freezer.

Whoever had put the holes for the stones had done so with amazing skill, the magic stone she had just finished replenishing fit perfectly in the hole, its edges flush with the rim.

"Why does it only have two yellow magic stones?" Coco turned to Mrs. Tani, grabbing a hold of two yellow stones.

Their response to her hold was fast, immediately sucking in the mana they needed.

"Because—" Mrs. Tani was about to respond, but Jacques gasped loudly, both from shock and fright.

"Coco, you’re bleeding!"
