Chapter 66: Shopping with heavy heart

The next morning came quickly for the black haired woman because as soon as she had eaten dinner last night, with Lala savoring the last bit of the ham the Inn’s chef had served to them, they went to bed.

The sun was barely up when Coco made her way down to the market once more, a pouch of money on her pocket as she walked around, looking for an open shop who sells flour, egg, salt, baking soda, powder, and yeast— because she doesn’t know what the first husband might want.

However, the six ingredients she needed and wanted to buy were usually the ones her mother or big sister would buy whenever one of the two wanted to bake something.

So, technically, she’s somehow clueless when it comes to cooking and baking— no, it’s not because she doesn’t want to, but because her mother and big sister love everyone inside the house so much that they take care of every meal.

All she could do was fry eggs and hotdogs or anything that can be cooked in oil without doing the things with breading, marinating, seasoning, and everything that loving mothers and sisters do.

Now that she’s shopping for everything that the first husband might need, she’s regretting the fact that she didn’t insist on helping in shopping with her mother or big sister.

If she came with them, she would at least have an idea on what to buy right now.

They would ask her if she wants to come, but she usually refuses and just gives them extra money for the budget because she thinks that she might be burdening them.

She helps out by putting everything they bought to their respective jars, tupperwares, and storage so that counts, right?

I think this is the reason why Corrine said that she was one hundred percent sure that I will be marrying a househusband instead of me being a housewife. Coco thought with a small smile on her face, feeling a little empty upon remembering her big sister and mother.

They really had done everything in their power to treat her and the youngest sister with the best treatment possible, always telling them that they shouldn’t settle for someone who wouldn’t do the same they did to them.

"If he won’t take care of you, cook for you, spoil you with love, treat you like a queen, then don’t settle for him! Do better, okay?"

Was what her mother would always say to her because out of the three daughters, she’s the only straight one, who would likely to get married, have children, and give her mother grandchildren.

Corrine Coison was bisexual, but would lean more towards ladies. She would often bring home girls to introduce as her girlfriend, but would come back next month with a different girl.

Corrine may be a loving sister, but she was quite unluckily when it comes to love, and a little casanova, too.

Carina Coison, the youngest sister, was lesbian through and through, she have never brought up liking a boy her age, but would always speak about a certain girl she had her eyes on— she was quite adamant on pursuing the said girl, too, which made Coco shudder just thinking about it.

She was going to graduate from high school with persistence and stubbornness to be a suitor for that girl.

So, yes, Coco Coison was the only daughter her mother could count on when it comes to giving her grandchildren that will continue the Coison family line.

However, before she could go and look for a husband, something happened..

I died and took over Coco Hughes’ body after she died in the middle of the forest.. Coco mused in her mind with a quiet sigh slipping past her lips.

Lala may be to be blamed, but what’s done is done.

Besides, Lulu and Lala are doing their best to give her compensation, right? Just like what the garden fairy told her, she was just about to live her life to the fullest with the fairy by her side.

Sighing, she went to the nearest store where she could see a bag of flour was freshly placed outside.

"Good morning!" A young green haired man greeted her enthusiastically as soon as she approached the store, ceasing on his tracks to smile at her, "What can I get for you, miss?"

"Anything that will be needed for baking." Coco said, her eyes landing on the young man’s arms where a bag of salt lay, "If you can, please give me a bag of each ingredient— the eggs, if you have one, please give four dozens of it."

The young man blinked owlishly and reluctantly nodded his head, "I’ll bring everything out.. Please wait here."

"I can’t go anywhere else even if I want to." Coco stated, her voice laced with a playful tone which made the young man smile slightly and shook his head.

Her mother used to say that she should befriend every vendor as much as possible so she could get discounts from them any day.

Her mother was a social butterfly and would often come home with a lot of food whenever she got back from work, all because she was friends with the market vendors that she passed by everyday.

Coco shifted in her spot, her eyes scanning the street of the market, almost filled with people who are doing their morning shopping for breakfast and the meal for the rest of the day.

Some of them locked eyes with her which made them look away first out of wariness because even if Coco Hughes had shown changes in her attitude, she was still known for her temper and her tendencies.

Coco could let out a sigh, turning around to avoid the eyes of the people who would look at her.

At times like this, she would either hide behind her mother or big sister, making her feel safe from people’s eyes and thinking about them again made her frown.

I miss my family..
