Chapter 49: Magia Pierre

"Mr. Tani!" Coco called out, her eyes trained on the pink haired man who was about to walk inside the Red Horse Inn.

Joachim stopped on his tracks abruptly when he heard Coco’s voice and immediately turned around to greet her. A rich and resourceful patron should be treated and serviced with their best to keep her in their business, right?

"Coco!" Joachim beamed at her, his eyes landing on her running form with forced enthusiasm.

As soon as Coco approached him, she let go of Zaque’s wrist and grabbed Joachim’s shoulders, a serious and tense look on her face replaced the cheerful and excited one she previously had.

"I have a very important question and your answer will change drastically because it depends on it." Coco stated, her grip on his shoulders loosening slightly, minding her own strength and felt a little afraid of hurting him.

Joachim blinked, his eyebrows furrowed as he nodded his head with reluctance, "Okay.. What is it?"

"Does Mrs. Tani really sells magic stones?" Coco asked, the tone of her voice flat and grave, as if someone was about to die.

"Of course? She’s a merchant, Coco." Joachim said with a deadpan expression on his face, "You can check her shop if you want. There are a few magic stones out on the display."

"So, magic stones do really exist!" Coco exclaimed, letting go of Joachim and taking a step back, "Where’s the shop? Where can I find it?"

"Ahh.." Joachim blinked and pointed at the building beside the Red Horse Inn, his eyebrows furrowed, "That’s the shop..? You always pass by this building, Coco. How do you think my wife knows if you are coming or have come back from the forest?"

Coco followed the direction of where the pink haired man was pointing and saw a small shop.

The shop is small and cozy, its exterior walls lined with smooth wooden panels. The front of the shop is dominated by a large display case, the glass panels reflecting the soft light of the shop’s interior.

Inside the case, various colored stones are arranged on a soft cloth, the glistening stones carefully displayed for potential customers.

"Oh, my goodness! It does exist!" Coco squealed in glee then she shot Joachim a grateful yet excited smile, "Thanks a bunch! I’ll let your wife have a discount for anything I’ll bring back later!"

She didn’t turn around when she grabbed Zaque again and rushed past Joachim who looked as shocked and taken aback like the first husband.

Why does she look excited?

Are magic stones that exotic for Coco Hughes? What happened to her addiction to alcohol?

Joachim could only blink in surprise as he watched Coco drag her first husband, who looked like he was contemplating something, inside the shop without a care in the world.

As Coco pushed open the door and entered the shop, the bell hanging above the door tinkled softly, the sound clear and sharp in the quiet atmosphere of the shop.

The bell continued to chime softly even after she had passed through, the ring was delicate, like a gentle chime, and it seemed to echo off the shop walls, as if the sound was still dancing through the air rejoicing for her presence.

The wooden floorboards creaked slightly as she walked through the shop with Zaque following closely behind, the smell of wood and earth filling the air.

The small shop’s glass displays are filled with a wide variety of magic stones, many of them glowing softly with a faint inner light while others stand out with their strange patterns and shapes.

The stones are carefully arranged in a series of boxes with open lid and cases, each one carefully labeled with the name and magic attributes of the stone.

The shop is filled with the smell of incense and earth, and the soft glow of the stones cast the shop in an unusual, almost otherworldly light.

Not only that, the walls are lined with shelves and each shelf is filled with small boxes, each containing a unique magic stone that seems bigger than the magic stones before Coco.

The stones her eyes landed on are in a different sizes, shapes, and colors, the power of each stone radiating off of them in waves.

The air is thick with the scent of magic— like a candy’s vague scent that keeps your mouth watering— in this case, it makes Coco’s hand twitch like crazy, the stones seem to almost vibrate with energy as if they were trying to seduce Coco.

Coco had let go of Zaque to walk closer to the magic stones hidden behind the dainty and fragile glass display to inspect each colored stone closer.

Red, blue, white, yellow, brown, purple.. Wow.. I can’t believe it.. There are a lot of magic stones here and these ones look so beautiful. The black haired lady thought to herself, her eyes sparkling brightly as she continued to inspect the stones.

She wished that Lala could see the magic stones right now, she would have loved it—

"Oh, my!" An excited feminine voice snaps Coco out of her daze and makes her look away from magic stones.

"Mrs. Hughes, I wasn’t expecting to see you so soon." Mrs. Tani said, a pleased and astonished expression on her face as she approached Coco from behind the glass displays.

"Are you planning to buy magic stones for your equipment back at home?" Mrs. Tani asked, placing her hand on the display and leaned forward to be face to face with Coco.

Coco beamed at her, her eyes wide with fascination, "Yes! But you have to tell me about what these stones can do first."

Mrs. Tani blinked, Coco Hughes seems a little different than she was from the night before, taking Mrs. Tani aback, but since Coco was a customer of hers at the moment, a smile made its way to her face.

"First, let me welcome you to Magia Pierre."
