New World with Four Husbands
Chapter 35: Renaldo’s wife

Chapter 35: Renaldo’s wife

The woman before Coco was beautiful, with long pink hair that cascaded down her back in shimmering waves, framing her delicate face like a halo.

Her eyes were a vibrant shade of pink, like a bouquet of pink roses in full bloom, their gaze intense and striking. Her face was pale and flawless, like fine porcelain, her features soft and delicate.

Her clothes were simple but elegant, a flowing cheap and tattered silk of white and pink, the material hugging her curves in all the right ways.

She was a vision of femininity and grace, something that could have come straight from a fairytale— however, maybe Coco was just exaggerating, but for her eyes, the woman was that good-looking.

Holy freaking shit..! She’s so goddamn beautiful! Coco’s jaw dropped at the beauty before her, her eyes being blessed with the pink haired woman’s gaze locking with hers.

"Mrs. Hughes." The woman smiled at her, polite and kind, with her eyes shifting to Coco’s face to the dead flying pig on her shoulder which made the woman’s smile drop and make her face turn even more pale, "Oh, dear.."

Coco blinked and tore her gaze away from the beautiful woman, her breath caught in her throat.

Why is everyone so beautiful or handsome in this world?! Coco exclaimed, the cogwheels in her mind creaking and halting their movements.

My world doesn’t have that many attractive people! Hell, even all those celebrities are not attractive! I could count on my fingers right now how many attractive people I have met! Coco screamed in her mind, her body stiff in the doorway of the butcher shop.

"She’s really beautiful." Lala said, flying to the woman’s face to examine her appearance closer, "But she’s not as beautiful as you, Coco. I prefer your green eyes over her pink eyes— green eyes remind me of my sister, Lili."

Lili? Lulu? Kiki? Lala? Coco was momentarily distracted from the woman’s beauty because of Lala’s statement.

Does that mean her brothers and sisters have names that will repeat the first two letters? Just who gave these fairies their names? Theymust be so fun at parties. Coco thought to herself, eyebrows furrowed and looking at the red fairy.

Before she could think of anything else, the woman had something that caught her attention and broke her daze. Instead, she was astonished and flabbergasted.

"Dear! Mrs. Hughes came back with a flying pig this time!" The pink haired woman called out, her eyes glued to the dead monster on Coco’s shoulder, her expression awestruck and excited.

"She what?!" Renaldo’s voice rang out from the back of the shop, dripping with shock and disbelief.

Oooohhh! This beautiful woman is Renaldo’s wife! Coco exclaimed in her mind, her eyes wide as the realization set in and hit her like a brick.

Now that she knows the woman is Renaldo’s significant other, she felt a sense of relief and gratefulness wash over her whole being like the waterfall she saw just this afternoon.

"Would you mind if I come in?" Coco smiled at the woman, beaming brightly and enthusiastically.

As if the woman realized something horrifying, she scrambled to get out of the way with her face losing its color, "Oh, please, come in! Come in! I didn’t mean to block your way! Forvie me, Mrs. Hughes!"

"Did you do something terrible to her, Coco?" Lala wondered out loud, tilting her head and pressing a finger on her chin, "Why does she look so scared?"

Oh, hell no! Why would I do something bad to a beautiful lady like her?! If anything, I would have spoiled her rotten and everything! Coco mentally mused, her feet dragging her inside the shop with the flying pig barely fitting through the doorway.

Well, Coco Hughes probably did, but I don’t remember anything or see any memory about it. She added on to her previous thought and gently placed the heavy flying pig on the wooden counter.

"This month must be the month where everything will come to an end." Renaldo commented, halting his knife’s sharpening movement for a moment when the sound of the pig being placed on the counter echoed inside the shop.

"Dear!" The pink haired woman gasped, rushing to his side just in case Coco tried to harm him.

However, the current Coco Hughes isn’t the same Coco Hughes a couple of weeks ago— no, this is Coco Coison now, and Coco Coison doesn’t harm anyone unless the situation calls for it.

Instead, Coco let out a huff and puff.

"What does that mean?" Coco asked, her eyebrows furrowed and arms crossing in front of her as she turned her head to look at Renaldo.

"I mean, you came strutting inside my shop yesterday, told me to skin the tiger, asked me to be your business partner, gave me five gold coins, and brought another monster from the Jire Forest— at this point, I’m going to start believing in miracles." Renaldo said, a dismissive and light tone in his voice.

He went back to sharpening his knife, not worried about what Coco would say or how she would react to his words because he already knows that Coco wouldn’t do anything to him based on how their business talk went yesterday.

However, his wife doesn’t know that.

"Renaldo!" The woman screeched, her lips agape out of shock and could only widen her eyes at him, afraid that if she smacked him, he would hurt himself with the newly sharpened knife.

"What?" Renaldo frowned and turned to his wife.

"Apologize to Mrs. Hughes right this instant—"

"Nah, it’s okay." Coco had cut her off with a dismissive wave of her hand, "To be honest, his joke was so funny that I had to hold myself back from laughing."

"Well, you heard her, my wife." Renaldo smiled at her and leaned forward to plant a kiss on her forehead, "Don’t be too hard on me, yes?"

"Right in front of my pancit canton?" Coco’s nose scrunched up in disgust.
