Chapter 95: GAME OF LOVE
Chapter 95: GAME OF LOVE
"Hah! You wouldn’t have let me go? What would you have done— run crying and complaining to your mama?"
[Do you think the queen would let you off if she found out what you just said to her daughter?] Aristia rolled her eyes.
They ignored her and continued moving forward, only to hear,
"Spoilt brat!" The woman spat, folding her arms with a sneer. The child was speaking like this, she was clearly a spoilt child.
Their steps paused.
Serina turned around. "What did you call me?"
The woman raised her chin, as if she wanted to see what they would do. Her gaze on the only adult with the children, Adeline, was condescending too.
Not only Serina, but the rest of them were angry. How dare this woman call Serina spoilt and a brat?
In the king’s family of five, Serina was the baby of the palace as the third and last child, even though in the royal family as a whole, Aristia was the baby as the youngest girl and Alaric as the youngest boy.
She got whatever she wanted without question, and although she was a bit fancy and girly and picky and demanding, she wasn’t a brat nor was she spoilt. The king and Queen disciplined their children properly.
Seeing that things were about to get out of control as Serina was burning with anger and so were her siblings and cousins, Owen felt the need to remind them that it wasn’t proper to get angry.
"We have to go now," he said to them, glancing at the woman meaningfully. "Don’t let her anger you."
The coldness in Aristia’s brows dissipated by a bit. She nodded. Owen was right. There were other ways to deal with this shameless woman.
[Arguing with children, isn’t she ashamed of herself? I mean the royal children may have advanced mental development and higher intelligence compared to other children, but they still look the normal age, and thus woman isn’t aware of our identity. So she’s truly shameless to argue with a six year old child.] She glanced at the woman in disgust.
Then, she turned to the others. "Let’s not waste our precious time on the likes of her. She’s not worth it."
Beatrix nodded, and Ivan felt that her words made sense.
He turned to Serina and rubbed her head. "You heard Tia. Let’s not mind her."
Serina nodded and calmed down. She huffed and dusted off her clothes as if having been near the woman earlier had dirtied her clothes. "Let’s go, then. I don’t want to see her face for a second more."
They left in the direction they had come, still hearing the woman’s loud laughter.
"Truly shameless." Aristia spat, without looking back, but the woman couldn’t hear her from where she stood now.
It was quickly nearing dusk now and the sun was setting. They walked back to the carriage and headed back to the palace.

"Goodbye aunt and uncle. We will miss you, Tia and Allie." The Royal siblings waved.
Thankfully, Serina had stopped being angry as soon as they left the vicinity of Broughton Hall, deciding it wasn’t worth it to get angry over the woman.
"Goodbye. I will miss you too." Aristia and Alaric waved back.
The Amberale Grand Ducal family was leaving the royal palace and heading home. The family exchanged hugs and tearful kisses.
Aristia held back from rolling her eyes, still being smoldered in Serina’s near crushing embrace. [Seriously, the palace is not that far from the mansion of the Grand Duke. It’s not like we’re going to our Fief or traveling to a place far away.]
Even though she thought that, she knew she would still miss these cousins from Wilson’s side of the family. She was closer to them compared to the cousins from Catherine’s side of the family, and they were even aware of some of her secrets.
"I still don’t know why you refuse to stay in the palace." Mother Queen Melissa grumbled. "Now look, I will be missing my sweet grandchildren. Oh, my poor heart can’t handle this."
"We will miss you too, grandma." Aristia smiled.
"Good child. At least you care about Grandma, unlike your father. Oh, that son of mine." Melissa rubbed Aristia’s head dotingly and glared at Wilson like a mother scolding a disappointing child. She didn’t even mention Catherine, only Wilson. Aristia smiled sweetly.
Wilson was speechless. He was standing right here. He raised an eyebrow at his daughter. Was she laughing at his expense? He shook his head with a doting smile playing on his lips. His daughter was becoming more and more mischievous.
"We will visit, mother. Rest assured." Wilson assured his mother.
They boarded the carriage, still waving until they couldn’t see each other anymore. Only then did they stop waving.
"Huu..." Aristia sighed, looking out of the window and inhaling the cool evening breeze. She liked the palace, but she was looking forward to going home. That was the first place she found herself in when she first woke up in this world. She felt more comfortable there.
Beside her, Alaric yawned. He looked very sleepy. It was expected since he had gone out today and walked around for quite a while. He had been bubbling with excitement the whole day and now that he had calmed down, he started to feel the tiredness seep in.
"You can lie on my lap, Al." Aristia said to him, patting her lap. She really liked this younger brother of hers. He was very pleasant, not overly annoying or bratty.
Alaric scooted over and stretched out on the carriage seat, using her lap as a pillow. He was able to achieve this because the carriage was very wide and roomy, and the seats were also comfortable.
Aristia ran her hand through his soft, silky hair and continued gazing out the window at the disappearing houses bathed in an orange hue from the setting sun. She sighed inaudibly.
Her parents exchanged gazes with each other. They could tell what the other was thinking; their daughter was so considerate. They smiled at each other, staring into each other’s eyes.
From the corner of Aristia’s eyes, she saw Wilson bring his hand forward and Catherine place hers in his. Wilson brought Catherine’s hand to his lips and kissed the back of her hand.
Catherine’s face reddened and she tried to pull out her hand, discreetly looking at Aristia, but when Wilson did not budge, but instead held her hand in a firmer grip, she stopped trying to free her hand and just averted her eyes.
When Wilson noticed how flustered she was, he chuckled and caressed the back of her palm he had just placed a kiss on.
[Uhhh... I’m still here. And I am very much awake.] Aristia was yelling in her head, but on the outside she was calmly looking out of the carriage window and pretending not to notice the game of love her parents were playing. She felt like she was intruding on a private romantic moment.
Fortunately, Wilson didn’t go any further, after all, their daughter was also awake in the carriage. He just wanted to tease his sweet wife a little.
The carriage entered into the Grand Duke’s Estate. There was almost no conversation throughout the journey back home from the palace. What accompanied them was the hooves of the horses, the cool evening breeze and the occasional chirping of the birds. It was a peaceful, quiet night.
The carriage stopped in front of the Grand Duke mansion. The Coachman held open the door of the carriage and Wilson came down. He helped Catherine alight from the carriage and then he carried Alaric out of the carriage.
There were some servants waiting outside.
"Welcome back, Master." Butler Henry Cedmond bowed.
"Your Highnesses." Adeline greeted.
The servants who had gone to the royal palace had returned to the Grand Duke Estate beforehand. They went ahead of their masters.
"Your Highness." Cassandra bowed in greeting to Wilson and Catherine. "Allow me to take the Young Master to his room."
"I will take him. You can return to your quarters." Catherine said to the servants.
The maids bowed. "Yes, Madam." They went back to the servants quarters.
Wilson put Alaric in her arms. He turned around and carried Aristia out of the carriage as Catherine started to enter the mansion.
Wilson also turned to head inside the mansion.
Together, they went first to Alaric’s room which was on the same floor as Aristia’s. Then, after putting him to bed, they headed to Aristia’s room.
As soon as the Grand Duke placed Aristia on her bed, she woke up. She blinked slowly when she saw she was lying in bed. How did she get here? She looked around and saw Wilson and Catherine. It seemed Wilson had carried her here.
Then, had she unknowingly fallen asleep in the carriage? That would explain why she dreamed of when she was back in her world, and the memories she had of this world was like a dream. She had actually thought the dream was real and that this world was just a dream.
She was surprised. The fact that she fell asleep unknowingly was a surprise. That meant she was developing a level of trust for her parents in this world.
Wilson noticed that she had woken up. He patted her gently. "Sleep, Tia." He lulled.
Aristia felt her eyes close. She was really tired so she didn’t fight the sleep. Besides, she had classes the next day.
"Goodnight, Tia." Her parents wished.
"Goodnight," she trailed off, already fast asleep.
