Chapter 81: NOW, YOU REMEMBER THAT I’M YOUR MASTER
"I don’t know what aim the owner is trying to achieve by being so secretive." A scorn filled voice said.
Aristia looked at her in displeasure and annoyance. The person who spoke was Leticia Essylt. She was the same age as Irene Everett. She had auburn hair and hazel eyes and had an unfriendly look on her beautiful face as she looked at Irene Everett.
Irene Everett nodded at Priscilla’s words and ignored the unpleasant look and blatant glare Leticia Essylt was sending her way.
Aristia turned away. It was obvious that the two did not get along.
Immediately, the children shifted from talking about the restaurant to discussing about daemons.
"Brother Ivan’s daemon is huge. I cannot wait to find my own daemon." Alaric said excitedly. He had finally found a topic that he could participate in.
The topic of Daemons was something that interested all noble boys. Everyone wished to find their daemon.
Hearing about the crown Prince’s daemo, the children also didn’t forget to sing praises one after the other.
"The first prince’s daemon must be very handsome."
"If only we get the privilege to see his highness’s daemon."
"The second prince’s daemon will also be very handsome."
"My brother has found his daemon." Priscilla Essylt said proudly.
Aristia turned to see the brother she was talking about. It was a boy with the same reddish brown hair color as Priscilla, but his eyes were dark brown. Richard Essylt. He was nineteen years old and was an adult, but he had yet to inherit his father’s title. He smiled with a proud look in his eyes.
He glanced at Irene Everett from the corner of his eyes and frowned in disappointed when she didn’t show any special reaction.
"What kind of animal is your daemon, young master Richard?" A young boy of similar age asked.
Richard looked away from Irene to answer. "A reddish brown cat."
"Oh. Will we get the chance to see it?"
Richard replied with a smile. "Maybe you all will be able to see it in the next tea party hosted by my family."
Aristia smiled with interest. So, Leticia Essylt didn’t have a good relationship with Irene Everett, but her brother liked the former. Irene Everett, on the other hand, seemed to have no special feelings for him.
As she roved her eyes around, she managed to catch two people glaring at each other in one of the adults’ table.
Her eyes moved and stopped at someone seated beside a certain tutor of hers who was also eagerly watching the people in question, though she did it subtly.
He had Ivory hair, just like Maxim, but his eyes were a golden hue.
[But mama and uncle Maxim don’t have another brother.]
He smiled when their gazes met. It was a smile that said he was very familiar with her, not just a friendly, curt or polite smile.
Aristia smiled back so that she wouldn’t appear strange, since he seemed to know her very well.
[But I don’t know him. And Vasily didn’t think it was necessary to tell me about her husband during our classes since we seem to know each other?]
She shook her head when she realized that if she and the Viscount knew each other, Vasily might think it wasn’t necessary to say it.
Remembering the exchange she had seen earlier, her eyes returned to Vasily.
She followed Vasily’s gaze and her eyes landed on the two old couples seated opposite each other.
[What’s going on? Aren’t those men the old masters of the Winston and Eldridge families? Why were they glaring at each other like that? Old Madam Winston is also glaring at old Madam Eldridge. Interesting.]
Aristia smirked. Her eyes met Viscountess Vasily’s who had noticed a gaze trained on her.
Vasily smiled when she noticed it was her beloved pupil who was staring at her and then looked away.
It seemed Vasily knew something about the grudge between the couples. She added it to the list of things she would ask her tutor.
[Hmm.]
Aristia felt that the banquet was quite interesting and even satisfying. It wasn’t so bad after all. She leaned back in her chair with a subtle smile.

"Goodbye Laura. Goodbye Lily." Aristia hugged her cousins, Lauren and Lilith Anton.
The banquet had ended and the nobles were returning home.
"I’ll miss you Tia, and Allie." Lauren replied.
"You can always come to visit." Aristia said, gently squeezing little three year old Lilith’s soft cheeks. She was very adorable. She had ivory hair and emerald green eyes. The only one among the three siblings who inherited their mother’s eyes.
"Goodbye, brother Liam." Aristia turned to Liam and waved.
"Goodbye, Tia." Liam replied, rubbing her head with a fond smile.
The King and Queen had already retired to their chamber. Melvin and Melissa weren’t present either. They weren’t required to send off the guests.
But Rowaine had personally bade farewell to her new friends; The Madams of the Anton, the Eldridge and the Kiran noble households, when the banquet ended, leaving the other aristocrat ladies drowning deeply in envy.
Wilson and Catherine had stayed behind to send off their family and close friends. After all, Catherine’s parents, the old Master and Madam of the Anton Duchy, were present.
But Ivan, Serina and Beatrix had come along. After all, they had just made some new friends.
"The same applies to you," Serina said to Paige and Nova.
"Don’t forget what we told you, Alice." Aristia said to Alicia Eldridge. "You and your cousins can visit the palace and the Grand Duke’s Mansion anytime."
The cousins she was referring to were the Anton and Kiran children.
The mothers were very happy. After all, they had a good relationship with each other and also wanted their children to get along well with each other.
Alicia nodded with a smile, blushing at the nickname. "Goodbye," she got into her family’s carriage and they left.
The other children were jealous. The Anton children could freely visit the Palace. That was acceptable because they were cousins with the third princess, but what about Alicia Eldridge and the Kiran children? The third princess even called Alicia Eldridge by a nickname. Were they that close? They had to work harder to get close to the Royal family.
"Cath, dear. Don’t forget to visit us. We don’t see you anymore ever since you got married." Claire joked.
"More like got stolen away." Edgar grumbled.
"Don’t listen to your father." Claire said, giving Catherine a hug.
"We will visit, mother. Goodbye," Catherine promised. Then, she turned to Maxim. "Goodbye, Brother."
"Goodbye, little sister." Maxim smiled. The family got into the carriage and rode off.
The Royal family members returned to their chambers not long after.
Aristia walked to her chamber. Instead of entering the bedroom, she sat on a couch in the mini parlour.
"The banquet is finally over. I can get back to work now." Aristia said to herself in relief. The construction of the restaurant had been on hold these few days of the banquet since the workers also had to observe the celebration. Now that the festival was over, it could finally be completed.
"Owen," she called out and not long after, Owen answered, coming out from the darkness in a corner of the room.
"You can pass off as an assassin." Aristia mumbled.
Owen only smiled.
"Draft a contract. We will be visiting the Kendall sisters tomorrow."
She would visit Dahlia and Dorothy Kendall to talk to them about when they would start work. Yes, she was confident that they would accept her offer.
"I understand, princess." Owen nodded.
Aristia had no doubt that Owen knew what to do and would draft a satisfactory agreement. When the time came, she would revise it and see if there was any mistake.
"Good," she nodded. "And Adeline?" She was wondering why she hadn’t come to her since she had been so eager to stay with her and so reluctant to leave before she left for the banquet.
"She is resting in the servants quarters," Owen replied simply.
Aristia hummed softly. She knew Adeline would be tired after running around these few days of the banquet. She smiled helplessly. She seemed to have gotten attached to this servant.
"Alright, you may leave," she said to Owen and he turned to leave. "Wait."
"Yes, Master?" Owen asked innocently.
Aristia scoffed. [Now you remember that I’m your master, huh?]
"Do you have anything to say?" She probed.
"About what, master?" Owen continued to act confused.
Aristia sighed. "About stalking me on the night of the banquet.
"I wasn’t stalking you, princess." Owen said as if he was offended. Then he corrected, "I was ensuring your safety."
"So you admit it, then?" She asked with a raised brow and Owen froze. She continued, "Thank you, but I didn’t ask for you to do that. You saw we handled that man fine."
"I know, but it is what I should do as your aide, princess." Owen insisted.
Aristia narrowed her eyes at him. He was becoming bolder since she brought him home. Owen looked away and avoided her gaze.
"I understand," he gave in.
Aristia nodded and waved at him to leave. She knew he was just saying that to placate her at the moment, and she wasn’t even serious anyway so she let it be.
Owen bowed and left, quietly closing the door behind him.
Aristia went into her bedroom and pulled a hung rope dangling beside her bed. Minutes later, maids entered her room to prepare a bath and bath her.
[At least this time, their service is needed and appreciated.] She didn’t have the energy to bath herself.
After a refreshing and relaxing bath, Aristia got dressed in a nightgown and lay down on her bed. She fell asleep almost immediately as her back touched the soft, comfortable bed, and her head made contact with the pillow.
