Chapter 11: Display Of Fire

A dragon with crimson scales flew over the giant forest through the shadow of tall mountains. Even though his crimson scales were shrouded in darkness, their bloody color was clearly visible to the naked eye. Dragon’s blood-red eyes were bright enough to cast a small path through the dim darkness-Northen forest area, including the kingdom, is dark even in the evening because of its tall mountain chain.

A pair of red, mighty wings created small hurricanes as the dragon advanced toward its destination. Four tree stump-like legs bore vicious claws that could tear any human to shreds easily. A pair of fangs met with the warm breath produced in the dragon’s stomach.

Rodriguez flew toward the place where he found the king’s scent. He had received urgent orders from his father to assassinate the king as fast as he could.

He turned around and looked toward a couple of wyverns trailing behind him with their weak human masters. He growled and turned around.

’I don’t know why Father worked with these lower races...They should be crushed under our feet, instead of ordering us.’

’I should misdirect my fire and kill some of these pathetic humans when I meet the king.’

He shook his head and started to fly faster, but stopped midway in shock. He squinted his dragon eyes and looked at the beautiful, young, human woman floating in the air in front of him.

’A human? What is a human doing here? Strange, I didn’t even notice her.’

Rodriguez couldn’t put it into words, but for some unknown reason, he felt like he shouldn’t underestimate her.

He opened his maw and let out an earth-shattering roar toward the floating human.

Dragon saliva flew toward Chloe, mixed with a warm, comfortable sensation. If Chloe were a normal human, she would have been incinerated to ashes just by a Rodriguez roar, but she isn’t...a normal human.

Rodriguez closed his mouth and looked at the girl in front of him with wide eyes.

’She doesn’t even have a scratch...I am getting a bad feeling about this.’

A dozen wyvern riders flanked both his sides while he spoke in his rough voice.

"Who are you, human? Why are you blocking our way?"

The girl continued staring at him with an even expression. She lingered for a moment and said.

"I have come to take your lives under the order of my master. Stop your futile resistance and accept my gift of death."

For a moment, everything turned silent. This silence stretched for seconds until a mocking laugh sounded from nearby. This laugh was championed by another laugh, another, and another. After a few seconds, a cacophony of wyvern riders’ mocking laughs filled the air.

The only one who didn’t laugh was Rodriguez.

One of the wyvern riders pointed at Chloe and said.

"Hahahah, a weak girl like you thinks you can threaten us."

Another one joined him. "Ahahah, yeah, this bitch thinks she can intimate us. I can’t feel an ounce of mana in you, how the fuck are you gonna kill us?"

"Look, she even wears a maid outfit. You should sweep the floor instead of threatening us. ahahaha"

Another one licked his lips and said while eyeing Close’s breasts.

"You should shut your obnoxious mouth and come here. All of us in the seventh quadrant of the empire are very good at pleasuring women. We will show you a great night and make you our slave."

Chloe raised her eyebrows and thought, completely ignoring the rider’s sexual remarks.

’Seventh quadrant of the empire...Now that’s an interesting piece of information. I should inform the master about this...if it pleased him, I might get to taste his...little dragon.’

Her thought process was interrupted by another rider’s disrespectful remark.

"You said your master sent you here. He must be a pathetic coward if he sends his maid to protect himself while he is hiding...don’t worry though, when I kill him, I will be your new master."

Chloe’s face darkened. For the first time since coming to this world, she felt something. It wasn’t happiness, sadness, or anything positive. It was something else entirely.

Something that drove people to insanity. Something that drives smart people to recklessness.

It was...RAGE.

"HOW DARE YOU."

Chloe’s outburst of raw anger produced a powerful shockwave that threw the wyvern and their riders plummeting to the ground like raindrops.

Rodriguez was pushed backwards for over a hundred meters until he barely stopped his momentum using his wings. He growled and balanced himself in the air.

Then, with fearful eyes, he looked at the beautiful doll-like girl, a hundred meters ahead.

’Such power...It’s on par with my father.’

Chloe looked at the still-alive riders who looked at her with wide eyes. A wide crater of ripped-out trees and dug-out earth surrounded their vision. Dread crept up into their hearts as they looked at her demonic new appearance.

Chloe’s eyes were like pits of ever-burning fire, which oozed out whips of it from the slightest move. Her blonde hair was burning in an indiscreet orange colour like a burning flag. Her body was covered by a full-body armour made of Pure golden scales.

She gritted her teeth and shouted in the same enraged tone, producing weaker shockwaves for every word.

"YOU INSOLENT VERMIN. I WILL BURN YOU ALIVE FOR THE SIN YOU COMMITTED BY DISRESPECTING MY MASTER. PREPARE FOR YOUR INEVITABLE DEATH, YOU PATHETIC PESTS."

She then pointed her finger upward in front of her face, and instantly, a small sphere of fire materialized over it. This ball of fire turned more and more solid as she injected more fire into it through her fingertips.

Suddenly, the ball of fire solidified itself into a blinding orange sphere over her fingertips. Then the ball shook a little, and a ring of fire protruded outward from it.

This ring of fire travelled outward while burning the tree leaves and boiling the air. Some of the wyvern riders got burned from the slightest wind of it.

She gazed at the wyvern riders who looked at her without doing anything in amazement and fear. Then she said with malice in her voice.

"Die"

She pointed the orange sphere toward the flock of humans and launched it with terrifying speed. The orange sphere flew through the air and landed on the floor near one of the wyvern riders.

"What the-"

He couldn’t even say a word.

A wall of fierce orange fire, as high as the sky, spread outward like a cylinder. It enveloped everything within a hundred-meter radius while burning and melting everything it touched.

"Boom"

Every wyvern and its rider got melted alive inside the wall of fire without even having the chance to scream.

The only one who managed to survive was Rodriguez, who flew far the moment Chloe made the sphere of fire.

He looked at the terrifying wall of fire in its glory and mumbled.

"I am dead."
