Naruto: Wooing Tsunade from Day One! -
Chapter 531: Capturing the Five-Tails and Six-Tails
Chapter 531 - 531: Capturing the Five-Tails and Six-Tails
As the days passed, Mikoto gave birth to another son.
Fugaku originally wanted to name him Kawakaze Uchiha, but Kawakaze quickly shut that idea down.
After much consideration, they decided to name him Sasuke Uchiha, just like in the original story.
Although Hiruzen had done some disgraceful things in the past, it didn't change the fact that his father was an outstanding ninja.
...
Three months later, Kushina gave birth to a healthy baby boy without any complications.
Under the immense pressure of so many powerful figures, the Nine-Tails remained as obedient as a kitten.
Naruto Namikaze was born without whisker marks and looked remarkably similar to Minato.
Without a doubt, he'd grow up to be a handsome man!
...
At the end of the year, Hiashi's wife gave birth to a daughter, whom they named Hinata Hyūga.
"The Twelve of Konoha are finally all here," Kawakaze murmured, his eyes filled with anticipation.
In this ninja world that I've altered, what kind of bonds will these twelve form?
...
"What did you say?"
Tsunade, playing with Ritsuki inside the house, didn't quite catch his words.
"Nothing."
"I just said that Hinata is a really nice name."
Kawakaze brushed it off with a casual excuse—this was a secret only he could understand.
"It is nice."
"But I still think Ritsuki sounds even better."
Tsunade affectionately leaned her face against Ritsuki's chest, playfully nuzzling her, making the little girl burst into laughter.
"Of course."
"Ritsuki is the best."
Kawakaze grinned and joined in, playing with his daughter. The room was soon filled with their laughter.
...
"Oh, right. Come with me to see Orochimaru tomorrow."
"He said he has something to discuss with you."
After tiring Ritsuki out from playing, Tsunade finally remembered what Orochimaru had told her when she left the lab earlier.
"That's rare. Orochimaru actually inviting me to his lab?"
"What's this about?"
Kawakaze, who was used to being ignored, found the situation rather odd.
"I didn't ask. We'll find out when we get there."
Tsunade had left the lab in a hurry and hadn't thought to ask for details.
"Alright."
"Go wash Ritsuki and get her ready for bed."
Handing his daughter over to Tsunade, Kawakaze sprawled out on the bed, enjoying the simple pleasure of his peaceful life.
...
The next day, Kawakaze and Tsunade left Ritsuki with Nayuki before heading straight to the lab.
Orochimaru and Misaki weren't the least bit surprised to see them arrive, but Itachi, on the other hand, was startled.
He had yet to experience the brilliance of the Flying Thunder God Technique firsthand.
...
"What do you need me for?"
Kawakaze swaggered up to Orochimaru, stopping right beside him, wearing an expression that practically begged for a punch.
Tsunade, too lazy to waste words on him, simply put on her lab coat and gloves before diving straight into her work.
"The Tailed Beast cell fusion experiment has hit another bottleneck."
"The habitats of the Five-Tails and Six-Tails have been located. You should go check them out."
Orochimaru didn't sound like he was asking for a favor—he was giving orders, plain and simple. Of the nine Tailed Beasts, only the cells of the Five-Tails and Six-Tails had yet to be collected.
"Is this how you ask someone for help?" Kawakaze scowled. He was the God of the Shinobi World! Did his dignity mean nothing?
"Why are you complaining so much over a simple request?" Orochimaru briefly paused his work, glancing up at Kawakaze with clear disinterest. Me, beg you? Dream on.
"If you keep that attitude, I really can't do anything about this." There was no way Kawakaze was going to back down in front of an audience.
"Alright, so you're not going?" Orochimaru sneered. "Then I'm shutting down the Tailed Beast cell fusion experiment. Starting today."
Orochimaru spoke with absolute confidence. At some point, he had realized that Kawakaze wanted this research completed even more urgently than he did.
"No, no, wait! Let's talk this through. I'll go, okay?" Kawakaze's bravado lasted all of three seconds before crumbling completely. He grabbed Orochimaru's arm, looking more like a bullied wife than the God of Shinobi.
"Haha! Come on, be a little tougher!" Tsunade burst into laughter, while Misaki and Itachi chuckled softly.
"Just give me the location. I'll be in and out before you know it," Kawakaze said, ignoring the teasing. For the sake of the Ten-Tails' cells, what was a little humility?
"Hmph, why couldn't you be this cooperative from the start?" Orochimaru straightened, smugly tilting his chin up, his victorious expression impossible to miss. Truth be told, he had no intention of stopping the experiment. If Kawakaze had held out just a little longer, who knows who would have bowed their head first?
The whole scene completely shattered Itachi's perception of his teacher. He stared at Orochimaru, rubbing his eyes as if trying to dispel an illusion.
"You'll get used to it," Misaki said softly, ruffling Itachi's hair. He was still too young—easily surprised.
Orochimaru removed his gloves and pulled a folded note from his pocket. "Here."
"You can count on me," Kawakaze said, taking the note and flashing an OK sign before disappearing on the spot.
"You really like ordering people around, huh?" Tsunade's tone turned sarcastic the moment Kawakaze was gone. Bossing my husband around right in front of me? Not very polite, is it?
"No choice. He's the God of the Shinobi World, after all," Orochimaru replied casually. "Strong people get things done. Catching Tailed Beasts might be a deadly task for others, but for Kawakaze? It's child's play."
Hearing Orochimaru praise Kawakaze, Tsunade nodded in satisfaction. "Well, that was nice to hear."
"Happy now?" Orochimaru smirked. "Come take a look at this. I ran into a small issue."
Tsunade stepped forward. "Let me see."
Despite the problem being minor, with both of them working together, it was quickly resolved. Ever since she stepped down as Hokage, research at the lab had advanced significantly. The combined efforts of two master-level researchers produced results far greater than the sum of their individual abilities.
Fugaku no longer had any reservations about using his Mangekyō Sharingan. The cultivated Tailed Beast cells were growing at an astonishing rate—Shukaku's cells had already developed into a massive, fully formed wing. If a suitable candidate was found, they could attempt to seal it within them to observe the effects. However, with the ninja world now unified, neither Orochimaru nor Tsunade had taken that step.
Rinnosuke Kaguya's Kekkei Genkai disease had been cured, leaving only the evolution of Shikotsumyaku under research. Studies on Madara's cells and White Zetsu's cells had also made progress, though their application to ordinary humans was still a long way off.
As for Hashirama's cells, that research had been abandoned long ago. They had already learned everything they needed—continuing further held little value.
Now, the fusion of Tailed Beast cells had become their top priority. Even a small fragment of the combined cells from seven Tailed Beasts radiated overwhelming power. Both Orochimaru and Tsunade were eager to see the final results of their research.
This was their shared goal, their passion.
