Chapter 381: What about Creature Dwellings?

The structure of the entire world of Glory Lords X is kind of like a massive honeycomb or a tangled spiderweb—layer upon layer, crisscrossing in every direction, with absolutely no clear order to it.

The different Plane Worlds? They’re almost completely disconnected from each other.

Except for one thing—they all connect back to the Main World.

At least, that’s the theory. Supposedly, every Plane World in Glory Lords X was born from the raw magical energy of the Ashan world’s main plane. So in theory, every Plane World should be linked to the Main World in some way.

But that’s just theory. In reality, even the major factions—despite all their power and resources—have only discovered maybe a third of all the existing Plane Worlds. Maybe even less.

Which means that even the top-tier powers don’t have a full map of the multiverse. There are still tons of Plane Worlds out there that are completely unknown—even to them.

And that’s exactly why finding an unclaimed, undiscovered Plane World is such a big deal.

It gives you a fallback. A place to hide. A secret base.

So yeah—of course Ethan was thrilled.

"No one’s gone in yet," Elynn said, shaking her head. "That Dimensional Gate was discovered by Lord Cicero. As soon as he found it, he sealed it off temporarily. I haven’t sent anyone in to explore yet."

"A Plane World, huh..." Ethan muttered, his voice low with excitement. "I didn’t expect Sylvanwood to be this rich. It just keeps surprising me—over and over again."

He couldn’t deny it—the appearance of a Dimensional Gate was huge news for him.

It meant that Emerald Castle’s foundation—its hidden strength—was about to get a serious upgrade.

Getting stronger, in and of itself, wasn’t that hard. But deepening your foundation? That was a whole different story. That kind of thing was rare—something you couldn’t just chase down. You had to be lucky enough to stumble into it.

And this? This was one of those moments.

"Alright, let’s put that aside for now. Let’s get back to what we were talking about earlier," Ethan said, taking a deep breath and calming himself down.

The Dimensional Gate had already been found. No need to rush. What really caught him off guard was how much treasure they’d uncovered just from sweeping through Sylvanwood after taking it over.

It made him even more curious about what Elynn was going to report next.

"Yes, my lord," Elynn nodded and continued. "Next, we found several Level 2 Special Resource veins: six Colossal Bronzesteel veins, eleven Grand Bronzesteel veins, and twenty-five Large Bronzesteel veins... plus one Grand Magic Pattern Vein, three Large Magic Pattern Veins, nine Medium Magic Pattern Veins... and three Grand Ragecore Crystal veins, five Large Ragecore Crystal veins, and eleven Medium Ragecore Crystal veins..."

"Wait—Ragecore Crystal? What’s that?" Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow.

It was the first time he’d heard of that particular Special Resource.

"Ragecore Crystal is a favorite food of the Behemoth species," Elynn explained. "If they consume it regularly, it boosts their rage energy. It’s kind of like Dragonblood Crystal in terms of effect."

Ethan nodded thoughtfully. "What about Creature Dwellings?"

"There weren’t as many of those," Elynn replied. "But we did find two Behemoth Lairs—both housing 13-Tier Legendary Units."

"Two?" Ethan blinked.

"That’s actually pretty damn good..." he said, nodding with satisfaction. Creature Dwellings for 13-Tier Legendary Units were incredibly rare. Finding even one was considered lucky. Two? That was way beyond expectations.

And he already had another Behemoth Lair under his control.

That made three in total.

Not a small number by any means.

Yeah—he was more than satisfied.

"What about the rest?" Ethan asked again, his curiosity clearly not satisfied yet.

"Excluding the Creature Dwellings we’d already taken over before," Elynn began, "this time we discovered five upgraded Unicorn Glades for 12-Tier War Unicorns, two upgraded Altars of Thought for 12-Tier Magic Elementals, and two upgraded Wyvern Monarch Nests for 12-Tier Wyvern Monarchs."

She paused, then added, "On top of that, we also found nearly thirty more Creature Dwellings for 11-Tier units—Wyverns, regular Unicorns, Psychic Elementals, and others."

"That many, huh..." Ethan murmured, a mix of awe and disbelief in his voice. He’d been mentally prepared for a decent haul, but this was still more than he expected.

If he added in the Creature Dwellings they’d already secured before this operation, they were looking at close to twenty 12-Tier Dwellings alone. And the 11-Tier ones? Probably somewhere between fifty and sixty.

He wasn’t sure how that stacked up against the rest of the world, but one thing was clear—it was already more than what the Crimsonstar Kingdom and Stellamaris Kingdom had combined.

And Sylvanwood’s total landmass? Barely one-eighth the size of those two kingdoms put together.

When you looked at it that way...

Yeah, it was pretty damn impressive.

"There’s definitely a lot," Elynn agreed, though her tone shifted slightly. "But unfortunately, aside from the 1-12 Tier units, we didn’t find any 13-Tier Legendary Units in the wild that were willing to join Emerald Castle. Some were defeated and wiped out, others were driven off."

Ethan blinked at that, a little surprised—but then nodded. "Makes sense."

Recruiting wild units was never easy. The odds were always stacked against you. Honestly, it wasn’t surprising they hadn’t succeeded. Still, he couldn’t help but wonder if things might’ve gone differently if he’d been there in person—maybe his Diplomacy skill would’ve made the difference.

...But what’s done is done. No point dwelling on it now.

"Wait a second," Ethan suddenly said, as if something had just clicked in his mind. "Didn’t the Kingdom of the Night Elves and the Kingdom of the Elementals each have a few Chimera and Phoenix Creature Dwellings? What happened to those? I don’t see any mention of them."

"They did," Elynn confirmed with a nod, though her expression turned a bit bitter. "But the Chimera Dwellings in the Night Elf Kingdom were completely banished. As for the Phoenix Dwellings in the Elemental Kingdom... they fared a little better, but they were heavily damaged during the Dungeon army’s assault. They’re in a broken state now—basically unusable."

"..."

Ethan fell silent.

After a long pause, he let out a sigh and shook his head, clearly frustrated—but what could he do? It was what it was.

Banishment was the most extreme fate for a Creature Dwelling—completely irreversible. Once a dwelling was banished, it was done. Gone. Might as well not exist.

As for the broken or abandoned ones...

When a Creature Dwelling becomes abandoned, it’s usually because it’s been left without support for too long—no gold, no basic resources, no special resources, nothing. Over time, it just withers. Creature Dwellings, after all, have a kind of lifespan. They need to be nourished by the laws of the Main World to stay functional.

Once they fall into that abandoned state, it’s almost impossible to bring them back.

Might as well write them off too.

Then there’s the third case—damage from external attacks.

That’s what happened to the Phoenix Dwelling Elynn mentioned. It had been hit hard—probably during the Dungeon army’s siege—and now it was in a broken state.

Technically, broken Dwellings can be repaired.

But it’s tough.

Really, really tough.
