Chapter 63: Blessed Divine Constructs, And Planting Shrines All Over The Places

Yoiglah’s massive head tilted, his half-lidded eyes narrowing toward the two Limbo Tier Divine Constructs standing in silent formation at either side of Kivas and Samael.

Their forms shimmered faintly under the moonlight—humanoid silhouettes composed of granular void and embers, etched with the shape of Samael’s spirit, or maybe darkness.

"The constructs," Yoiglah said slowly, "are they tethered directly to you, Samael?"

Samael tilted her head and replied with deliberate calm. "They are me. Fragments molded from the Well of my Soul. Each one is a piece I choose to allow to exist, and yet they stand as autonomous vessels...

"As this Renenutet beside me said, I’m now akin to a queen of a naked mole rat."

"Now you’re just making it sound as if I’m slandering you," Kivas wryly quipped.

"To put it into perspective," one of the constructs spoke then, its voice sharing the cadence of Samael’s, though slightly higher in tone. "Even if we are destroyed, it will not harm our Divine Hive. Our bodies are matterless, in a sense that we don’t really exist in the same way a normal entity does."

Yoiglah’s immense gaze lingered on them both. "So you are beings who think, feel, and act, with your own essence—yet severable. You possess conscience, identity, and mind, and yet no risk to the one who made you."

The constructs nodded in eerie synchrony.

"We’re nothing but positive!" said construct number one.

"It’s all because of the Divine Hive’s vast essence and wisdom!" said construct number two.

"Why does it still feel like you’re just praising yourself in the mirror," Yoiglah commented.

"I guess this is better than threatening people left and right," Kivas chuckled.

"You two really don’t have any faith in me."

Yoiglah’s vast limbs shifted slightly. From the shrine embedded into his shell, a pulse of light flowed outward, forming spirals of golden glyphs that circled the two constructs.

Intricate symbols formed in the air, traced down through the void of their bodies, and burned inward like living script.

The symbols rooted themselves into the constructs’ forms.

What appeared to be divine hieroglyphs glowed across their limbs, shoulders, and chest—marks that pulsed once before settling into place.

"Consider this my blessing," Yoiglah rumbled. "From this point forward, constructs, now the two of you carry my voice and reach."

One of the constructs looked down at its marked arm. "You have embedded your signature. I can feel the weight of divine miracles threading through my essence, the same way there is a connection between us and the Celestial Avatar, albeit a weaker one."

"It seems like it is right to put my trust in you, Yoiglah," Samael said as she inspected the glowing hieroglyphs. "To think that you can do this as well."

Yoiglah nodded. "Through these two constructs, I may enact miracles from afar. Through them, I may hear, speak, and intervene. If danger comes, you may call to me, and I shall answer with action, and influence from afar."

Kivas folded her arms and looked between the four of them. "Okay, I get the benefit, but I have a serious question now."

"Go on," Samael gestured her hand, looking as if she had an idea of what Kivas would bring up as a topic.

"If I’m the deity here, why are you the one throwing out blessings and channeling miracles as if you’re my superior?" Kivas said with a pained smile. "Not that I don’t mind, but I felt a little bit misleaded somehow."

Samael grinned and pulled a new wooden sign from her spatial storage, raising it high above her head with the word "EXPLAINING" burned into the surface.

"You’re the deity of the shrine, Kivas," Samael said. "But Yoiglah has assimilated with it. Not metaphorically, not spiritually, but literally. He and the shrine are now one. Think of him as the living body of your altar. A physical manifestation of the Minor Shrine’s will. And to an extent, yours."

Kivas put on a checkmark gesture under her chin. "So he’s my house too as a deity?"

"Your mobile cathedral, if you may," Samael added with a teasing smile. "But not without teeth."

Yoiglah exhaled slowly. "I am the shrine, yes. And while I have access to the divine threads granted by your existence, I do not supersede you. If you perish, the shrine’s tether to divinity will rupture. That risk is unacceptable...

"For a young deity such as you, a helping hand is needed to build a great foundation," Yoiglah’s gaze drifted to Samael. "That is why I marked your constructs. You are her guardian. You, who once ruled Vaingall without peer, now serve as the greatest bastion of protection for this young divinity."

Kivas took a slow breath, taking in the seriousness of that statement. "And as I grow stronger, so does the shrine. And since it is you explicitly that are the shrine..."

"My power returns in multiplicity," Yoiglah confirmed. "It will echo. The more you become, the more I become. And in turn, the more I can serve, and thus influence you."

"Alright, that should be about it," Samael stepped forward, her legs brushing against the thick flora that was spawned by the miracles. "We’ll be departing now. You’ve done your part. Though, there is one last thing that I wanted you to do."

"Hmm?"

The three other Limbo Tier Divine Constructs came out from their posts of guarding the vicinity.

"Bless these other three aswell."

"It shall be done."

A pulse of light flowed outward, forming spirals of golden glyphs that circled the three constructs.

With this, all five constructs that were not in an adventure or scouting had already been assimilated with the influence of the shrine.

"I appreciate it, Yoiglah," Samael said with a prideful smile.

Yoiglah bowed his head, slow and solemn. "I shall commit to my role now, Samael. For the burden. For the opportunity."

Kivas and the two constructs bowed slightly in return, and as Samael turned, the constructs waved their hands in perfectly synchronized gratitude.

The shrine pulsed one final time with a low resonance, a sendoff of unseen weight.

All in all, it was a surreal experience, even by Fathomi’s standard.

And thus, together, Samael and Kivas descended into the mist-veiled woods once more.

"We got quite a lot of shrine seeds from Yoiglah," Kivas said as she counted seeds through the gap of a spatial storage. "We might as well place these Mini Shrine? All over Vaingall? Hmm, now that they are an inferior version of Minor Shrine, what are we calling these now?"

"It’s still technically counted as a Minor Shrine."

"An Inferior Minor Shrine, then."

"Now you’re just adding adjectives as you please."

That night, a new goal took root—conversion, to spread influence as far and wide, to attain power and stability for the future of Vaingall.

In a timeline where the insurmountable had kneeled in front of a Fateling, the Endless Dragon had chosen to embrace something new, and now that choice needed to be heard.

Within hours, all five Limbo Tier Divine Constructs spread themselves throughout Vaingall, moving with precise intelligence.

Their presence was undetectable by most normal senses, but their influence was undeniable. Each one moved to contact isolated inhabitants, hidden encampments, independent settlements—every reachable cluster of life within Vaingall.

The message they delivered was simple.

The Endless Dragon, once the ruler of silence and flame, had relinquished her grip.

A new entity now backed Vaingall. A god of nourishment, serenity, patience, and mercy. Her name, for now, would not be proclaimed, but her shrine had been planted.

Her touch was gentle. Her presence calming. And her protector was the same devourer of tyrants that once brought the greatest beasts to heel.

Each Limbo Tier Construct carried both tone and grace, sometimes invoking divine energy to heal the sick, restore ruined crops, or conjure warmth.

For the resistance, words became steel. Their voices sharpened. Miracles became displays. Converts were courted with calm. Opponents were silenced with efficiency through brute strength and a vast array of skills.

Kivas could strangely feel what was happening from afar, thanks to the fact that the constructs now carry the same essence as Kivas’ divine portfolio.

"I think you went a little bit violence on some of them."

"You can see through the constructs?"

"Not entirely. I can only feel what was happening in a way, like a summary box that appears when you want to try skipping a cutscene."

"Well, better get used to it, because you haven’t seen the rowdy kinds of Vaingall."

Conversion was not a suggestion in the damned slightest, it must happen at all cost.

By midnight, dozens of Fathomi’s denizens across Vaingall had heard the message.

Some had accepted. Some had complied. Some had yet to answer.

But none could ignore the change. And none would be allowed to challenge it freely.

Alongside it, there were already about 46 Minor Shrines that had been planted within the territory of Vaingall.

The realm that had once been ruled by entropy and void was now shifting.

And when morning came, Kivas stood atop a small outcrop of stone, looking over a swaying expanse of reawakened land.

Grains stirred gently in the breeze. The echo of prayers, faint and formless, trickled into her awareness from a distance she could not measure.

She stared at the sky of Fathomi—vast, tinted by morning red, the clouds thin and silent.

"I wonder," she murmured, "how this timeline will turn out."

It was quite the big words still, since she only survive for less than four days on her first timeline.

Samael appeared behind her, arms crossed, one brow raised, smiling. "We will survive this time, we will thrive and build a foundation so strong, death will not happen even in our sleep."
