After completing the trial and adding Arashi to our team, we reunited with Yoru and the bears, who had been waiting for us under the wall that led to the peak.

The dragon removed the spell that prevented us from using magic, so we were able to fly down with ease.

I held the relic for a few seconds before it started absorbing a bit of my MP, and before I knew it, the orb had flown away from my hands.

The king glanced at Arashi with suspicion, as he wasn’t familiar with her, and wondered who she was.

’Huh, can he not tell?’ I pondered.

King Daisuke looked like he had a lot of experience in battle, which usually related to people being able to gauge how strong other people were just by looking at the outline of their MP.

This wasn’t something that I was able to do all the time, as I only started seeing these outlines after fighting Armaros.

If I had never met Arashi, and I just happened to meet her in human form, I would have been able to tell that she was incredibly powerful.

I probably wouldn’t have guessed she was a dragon, but I could at least have a reference to how much power she possessed.

Nevertheless, the way the king was looking at her made me believe that he wasn’t able to feel these MP outlines on others.

"Sir, you might want to get a closer look..." I said, giving the man a hint.

The king squinted while staring at Arashi, who stood still with an emotionless expression, then widened his eyes with perplexion.

I nodded. "Mhmm, you see it now," I said, feeling somewhat proud.

"T-The Storm Dragon!?" the king exclaimed, surprising all of the servants in the room.

Keiko was also a bit shocked, but not as much as the others. She was familiar with Vespera, so she knew that Legendary Beasts could take on human forms.

King Daisuke ordered the servants to throw a massive feast for us, saying that it was a special occasion, as the last time that a dragon visited their castle was hundreds of years ago.

I asked Arashi if she was the only dragon who had a familiar contract with Kyoko back in those days, and she confirmed she was, although Kyoko did have other beasts with her that weren’t dragons.

"So, in other words, that dragon that visited this castle hundreds of years ago..." I said.

"It was me, yes," Arashi replied, finishing my sentence.

While we were still talking to the king inside the teleportation room, someone burst through the doors, and it was Nessa and the two battle-maids.

"Ichiro, Melina!" she exclaimed as she entered the room.

Our devil friend glanced at us in her half-demon form, and tears started forming under her eyes, making her cover her face with embarrassment.

Without saying a word, Melina and I approached Nessa and gave her a tight hug that she seemed to need.

"I’m sorry... I lost control again..." Nessa muttered, her voice muffled by our clothes.

"That’s alright, Nessa. I know you were trying your best to hold back," I replied.

Before attending the feast, we talked to Nessa about what happened to her at the goblin’s cave since it wasn’t normal for devils to lose control when transforming.

Nessa told us that she didn’t always lose control, as when she lived in the world of demons, she was always in her true form.

When the Devil King, Xalathas, sent his commanders to the world, Nessa and Jackson were part of that group that was meant to help conquer the nations.

However, Jackson always planned on leaving their side and living peacefully as a human, which wasn’t something that Nessa understood at first.

During the first few days after the devils arrived, Nessa and Jackson were supposed to eradicate a small village with less than fifty people living in it.

As soon as they arrived, Jackson declined his task, saying that he didn’t feel like ruining the lives of the villagers, and asked Nessa to live with them for some time so that she could understand what he meant.

For one week, Nessa and Jackson lived alongside the villagers, helping them with mundane tasks that would have seemed too simple and meaningless to her. However, she couldn’t help but feel satisfied while doing those chores.

After the week had passed, Drakzen paid a visit to the village and was displeased at seeing that everyone was still alive. But more than that, he was furious at Nessa and Jackson for trying to live among humans.

In the middle of their argument, Jackson left them, and Nessa was still indecisive about what to do.

Nevertheless, Drakzen decided for her, and with the help of the demon Baelzor, they used their powers to control Nessa, making her lose control whenever she was in her true form.

When Nessa regained control of her body, she found herself in the middle of the destroyed village, with not a single survivor left.

It was at that moment that Nessa decided to leave and look for Jackson, as she had finally understood what he meant when he said he wanted to live peacefully.
