Chapter 65: Chapter 65 - Death of half a million people

"Which one?" Cruxius asked calmly, glancing toward Darithi.

His eyes lingered on her as if he had already anticipated an outcome, such as some of the subsidiaries under the Blac Corporation falling prey to the attack.

Despite previous warnings, he knew the losses were still possible, especially considering Lulu’s potential.

Not only her, but a few other heroines who had possibly regained their memories were also likely waiting for the right time to act against him in some form.

However, he also knew that those who were overpowered—scarcely one or two—might already be restricted by their circumstances, unable to reach him unless he brought them forward.

Like the psychopath who had killed Darithi, or the other one he didn’t care about.

There were nearly six to seven women who might have regained their memories.

Among them, the three—Lira, Sugar, and Nano—had already been introduced. As for the others, he would have to deal with them accordingly.

"Yes, it was the Dubai-based subsidiary Auracron Robotics. It has been breached. The data were erased, and malware was sent through update patches, causing nearly 1.4 million high-tech drones to attack their own pilots, destroying nearly 67 million GC in assets and injuring over 50,000 people... the rest died," Darithi stated. Though her voice was impassive, the severity of the situation was clear.

A small war had essentially taken place—one that no country would ignore, given the number of casualties.

Things had already become too severe. The attack wasn’t just an attempt to hack the system—it was meant to destroy the Blac Corporation entirely.

Not just its reputation, but its very existence.

The death of so many people was bound to become international headlines. Not only the media, but governments would demand explanations.

Hero association would be used against the Blac family, especially after Cruxius’s previous statements had already offended them.

Darithi had been receiving live reports for around three hours. Cruxius sat in the car with the door open, while Darithi stood outside in the same alleyway for three to four hours, showing how much pressure she was under from all sides—it was clearly overwhelming.

"Haah, so many people died... which countries were they from, by the way?" Cruxius asked, already aware that the number of casualties couldn’t simply be overlooked. Yet, for him, more important than the deaths was the fact that his family would soon be tracked by international courts.

"Somalia, Venezuela, and Syria..." Darithi replied, scrolling through the list of affected countries. She clearly understood the weight of the situation, evident from how Ytrisia stood silently, yet visibly shocked by the news of so many casualties.

’...How can someone be this evil!’ Ytrisia’s anger flared.

After hearing from Cruxius, she knew a supervillain had attacked the systems of the Blac Corporation. She had expected economic losses—not this level of devastation. But people had died.

The news made it clear: this wasn’t just an attack to harm—it was revenge. And in that revenge, countless innocent lives were lost.

"...Ytrisia, can you do me a favor?" Cruxius asked before directing Darithi to act. He turned toward Ytrisia, someone whose personality he knew well. He first needed to get her away from the area, so he called out, gaining her attention.

"Yes, just tell me the location," Ytrisia replied firmly. She understood that he was about to reveal the whereabouts of the supervillain who had committed this atrocity.

Her blood was already boiling with the desire to kill that supervillain at all costs.

"...It’s in front of you," Cruxius said, clearly seeing through her intentions and impulsive desire for revenge.

He realized she was too proactive when she shouldn’t be.

He wasn’t letting her kill Nano, whom he wanted to use.

Nano—Lulu—even though capable of destroying almost any technology, still had limitations.

She couldn’t physically act against others.

And now, with her emotions raging, she was even more vulnerable. Her clouded mind would make her easy to manipulate and redirect as needed.

"Huh? Sorry?" Ytrisia turned her head, following his gaze, only to see the same curry shop. Morning was dawning, but it was still open—24-hour service.

She hesitated, confused. ’Is the supervillain there?’

Her doubt came quickly. Maybe the villain was there. But the thought soon passed, and confusion took its place, prompting her to look at Cruxius again.

"Go bring something to eat, Ytrisia," Cruxius said with a blank look, tossing her 10 GC, which she caught. He added, "Most likely, that tight spandex can hardly suppress that body, let alone hold any money. So here—bring some omelets this time."

"Heh?"

And in the next moment, she found herself inside the shop, standing as the glass door behind her slowly slid closed.

She held the currency in her hand, blinking as she looked toward the empty counter—from where, just a moment ago, a voice about killing Cruxius had been heard.

Yes, the pink-haired owner of the shop, clearly boiling with anger over Cruxius’s proposal about the dowry, had barged out to create a scene.

However, she had been pulled back inside by the old woman.

And now, Ytrisia found herself here.

"...Is someone here?"

---

"What are your orders, Master?" Darithi inquired as she watched Ytrisia enter the shop, fully aware that the reason he sent her away was likely to issue important commands.

Cruxius closed his eyes, folded his hands, and rested his head back against the seat before beginning to issue his orders.

"Start with Somalia. Pay off the ruling super-clans. Give them exclusive rights to the neural combat serums—even if they’re still unstable—and let them blame the attack on rogue enhanciles. They’ll eat each other trying to control the narrative, while the serums will slowly corrode the super-clans due to side effects. Then we’ll support rogue enhanciles—keep them all busy."

"For Venezuela, offer to restore their power grid using our quantum reactors—but only if they denounce the attack as a failed internal coup by rebellious meta-militants. Use our media puppets to spread the chaos."

"And Syria..." he paused, letting the weight of the name hang. "Drop a crate of cloaked tech in the border zone. Let the insurgents and the government tear each other apart over it. Whoever wins gets to have our support—and a leash to match."

"...Master..." Darithi was clearly taken aback by the orders, as if he had an intricate understanding of the political conditions in all three countries. It left her bewildered.

"Come on, Darithi, be quick, or I’ll have to hire another assistant," Cruxius said with a shrug, glancing at her. She flinched slightly as he shook his head, then added with a faint smile, "Also, tell the butler I need access to the treasury locker. I need some things from the Blac family’s estate..."
