Chapter 46- A Goodbye from Sugar
Chapter 46: Chapter 46- A Goodbye from Sugar
"She’s strong," Ytrisia murmured, her eyes narrowing as she stared at the ruins of the buildings ahead. Only moments ago, she had fought those two villains there, her limbs now feeling the strain of the battle.
The villains’ severed heads lay scattered across the ground, their bodies decapitated as though sliced by a blade so sharp it could sever even their very cells.
"...Ytrisia, your legs must be hurting. Let me help," Cruxius said, his voice smooth as he glanced at Darithi standing beside Ytrisia.
The woman had chosen to rely on Darithi’s support instead of his own, and he couldn’t help but feel the sting of it.
With a playful glint in his eye, Cruxius flexed his claws, pretending to be innocent but clearly expecting something from her—a body part to grip, no doubt.
"Shut up, Cruxius," Volta snapped, her eyes twitching as she kept her gaze fixed ahead, completely ignoring the man. She was well aware of his perverse thoughts.
Ytrisia leaned against Darithi, barely keeping herself upright, her body still trembling from the exertion.
"Tch. Darithi, move aside," Cruxius ordered, striding forward without hesitation.
Darithi stepped aside without caring about Ytrisia, whose arm slipped off her shoulder, and she stumbled forward, falling directly into Cruxius’ arms.
His hand landed on her abdomen, and his bicep brushed against her breast, enough to feel her warmth.
"Y-you... Darithi?! How could you?" Ytrisia gasped, her heart pounding.
Just moments ago, Darithi had trusted her after she distanced herself from his perverse ways of holding her, helped herself using her support, only to feel the sting of betrayal now as Cruxius held her.
"Shh, you’re strong, so help me this time," Cruxius cooed, his voice almost too soft, as his arm tightened around her waist, pulling her closer.
At that moment, a greenish dimensional rift began to crack open before them, revealing a figure slowly transitioning into sight, arriving on the concrete railing.
The woman’s eyes locked onto Cruxius, narrowing with clear disapproval.
"I...." Sugar began, her voice sharp as she glanced over the bodies of the villains she had just slain. Their deaths had been easy, a result of their exhaustion, but as her eyes fixed on Cruxius, holding Ytrisia so possessively, her lips curled in distaste. "I guess you didn’t hear me clearly last time."
"What?" Ytrisia turned toward the newcomer, sensing the underlying accusation in Sugar’s words. "You—"
She tried to clarify that she was forced to be here, not on her own initiative, while standing beside him.
Before she could finish, Cruxius interrupted smoothly, his words dripping with an insufferable arrogance. "Miss Sugar, I think you’re unaware, but this beautiful lady in my arms is my soon-to-be wife."
’!’
Sugar’s eyes widened in shock, her lips quivering as she looked between Cruxius and Ytrisia.
Her hands clenched into fists, and for a moment, her body seemed to flicker, as if the very notion of his words had disturbed her sense of reality.
However, this was just simple bewilderment due to his words.
"Wh-what the—?!" Ytrisia’s voice faltered, her mouth hanging open in disbelief.
This ridiculous claim was coming from a man she had already rejected, and now he was using this moment to manipulate her further.
She would never, in this life or the next, choose him.
"...Indeed, she was about to be engaged to you at this time," Sugar recalled coldly, her gaze hardening as she turned away from the pair.
Her eyes closed slowly, the dimensional rift beginning to form around her as she transitioned back.
Her thoughts were a tangled mess, but one sentiment remained clear: she didn’t care anymore.
Whoever Cruxius married was his problem.
Perhaps... perhaps she even felt a little pity for the woman in his arms.
After all, why would anyone willingly choose a man who can anytime betray them?
With that final thought, Sugar’s figure vanished, leaving behind silence.
A silence which was disturbed by a sound—
Ding!

Cruxius smirked, his mind already savoring the moment.
The increase in Sugar’s hatred, the emotional turmoil she’d just endured—it was all so... delicious.
He reveled in it, like a predator savoring its retreat before a leap.
Ytrisia, still in his grasp, struggled to push him away.
"Y-you, leave me!" She was livid now, pushing against his chest, but Cruxius simply allowed her to struggle for a moment before he yanked his hand away, letting her stumble backward.
"H-huh?—Cruxi—!" Ytrisia’s words were cut short as she tripped, only to be caught by Darithi, who appeared at Cruxius’s silent command. Her eyes widened as she did not expect Cruxius to really leave her like this.
"Darithi, take care of her," Cruxius instructed, his voice casual as he gestured with his hand. "I’ll return shortly."
With that, he moved toward the steps, heading down from the hospital rooftop.
Naturally, from the start, from the moment he caught Thalia falling off the rope after she tried to escape the hotel, he was aware that the simple act of carrying that woman around the hospital would attract the gazes of paparazzi and social media enthusiasts.
As he thought, they captured images that would soon go viral and reach the head of the Blac family.
Knowing about his father, who was conservative, would definitely try to set him up with his choice of woman, marrying him off, and that choice would be Ytrisia.
So, unlike Sugar, he didn’t have to care about Volta coming after him—she would have to be under pressure from her funders to give him free casual dates.
He would have enough time to impress her.
But with Sugar, it was not the case, especially now that he was aware she had past life memories—he knew exactly how much she loved him.
It was best to make her understand the fear of losing her love, even though that love was trash.
And he naturally did not use Darithi for that process, simply because what if Sugar were to go after her?
It was not the first time Cruxius had met psychos in love—especially the woman who killed Darithi in a past life was also one of those love-obsessed demons.
Volta was strong enough to at least remain alive; that’s what made him use her instead of Darithi to ensure the order was carried out in a situation where Sugar might retaliate, which he knew she wouldn’t.
The major factor was simply the proof that the head of the Blac family was going to provide soon enough after seeing his son’s open actions live—marrying him off to Ytrisia.
"Let’s go," Darithi just glanced towards Ytrisia and, in a firm voice, said before pointing her towards the direction of the stairs.
"Darithi, how do you have this information already?" Ytrisia, now coming to mind while moving, inquired of Darithi.
As given on the call, she had instantly said the one behind all this was none other than the Dean of this hospital, which seemed suspicious at first given how Darithi had instant information and didn’t even take any time.
"That’s..." Darithi, recalling how she got signals and gestures from her master, hesitated. She had heard the address of this hospital as the phone was on speaker.
Not able to think of anything to escape this situation, she just added, "Master told me after knowing where you were so that he could help you....he loves you, you know."
’!’
"Cough!"
