My Servant System -
Chapter 1364 - 1363: Bloodline Upgrades (4)
Once again the runes went down on the ground first, Leone and Lilith working a little quicker than before thanks to this being their second time doing this while the rest of us just watched them put their 'expertise' on display.
Jahi was standing off to the side with Anput right beside her as they continued their flirting, the newly enhanced Jackalkin doing her best to 'strut her stuff' as much as she possibly could without earning the ire of the others or riling anyone up.
Primarily Lady Fenyras, who was lounging on a seat far away with a smirk on her face as she waited for the part of this that she was going to enjoy the most; I wanted to conceal myself from her impassioned gaze but I also was loving the attention...
That conflict inside of me was apparently something only I was wrestling with since Jahi was distracted thanks to Anput, Leone was too busy working on the array and Mom was relaxing to the side of the Demon Wolf, unaware of her gaze.
So I was there, apparently the only one aware of her gaze, left with the choice to either tease her and give her a little something to relish or go ahead and tell her off... and the decision was not as easy as I was wanting it to be.
Ironically enough I was saved by the arrival of Cali, the Arch Fiend floating on down into the clearing and settling down beside the Demon Wolf, pulling her muscular arm into her own and pressing her chest against the grey skinned futanari as she asked her to explain what was going on.
That distraction was enough for me to peel away my shirt and beckon for Leone to start applying that paste to me, the Vampire working quickly as she touched me tenderly, leaving behind thick wads of herbal paste on my skin that grew warmer with every passing second.
Each rune was felt as a shape on my skin, the feeling filtering into my mind as whatever it was meant to be only to then be immediately forgotten the moment I lost focus on that particular rune.
This was a slightly frustrating thing to experience since I was constantly reminded of them the longer Leone worked on me, her fingers tracing out these symbols that I just wasn't allowed to remember because of some weirdly potent magic that was just ingrained inside of them.
When I wasn't able to focus on them I was instead wondering about what I might feel going forwards, or the kinds of changes that might take root within me because of this array; my mind was blissfuly moving away from Lady Fenyras and instead focusing on the more practical, important things.
"Try not to use any mana to heal these 'pains' right away, alright? I don't know how that would affect the array, so just tough it out. There seemed to be a little pain going off of Anput's reactions, but you should be fine..."
"Mhm... Were you thinking about using the scroll Draka graciously gave us? Or should we use it on Jahi instead?"
Continuing to apply the runes, Leone remained silent as she pondered over my question, not giving me an immediate response and giving me the time to say "I think... it might be best used on her. I say that entirely because your blood is so... varied, so potent already that I don't know how much of an improvement the array would give you."
The Vampire nodded slowly before returning to my front as she applied the final rune, her fingers dancing over my stomach and making me shiver a little as she caressed a slightly sensitive, rarely touched spot outside of our moments of intimacy.
"I would have to agree. Besides... as you mention - as all of you mention - we have no idea what my Mom is exactly. She could be something incredible that just doesn't react to this sort of thing, or it might accelerate its awakening far sooner than I am prepared for. There are too many unknowns with this..."
"Besides, the abilities you have thanks to the Vampiric blood flowing through you is likely far greater than anything that this array could give you, right? And on top of that, I think upon telling the Empress about our findings here you can probably press for something... more from her. An explanation."
She nodded again before giving me a smile as she said "It's ready. All you need to do is follow the instructions on the scroll. It's a circulation of mana to activate the runes on your body in a specific order at a specific pace. Be careful, don't rush."
Patting my knee and keeping that smile on her face, the gentle and wonderful Vampire Princess I had been so blessed to have as a wife giving me the confidence I needed as she left the array behind and gestured for me to begin.
What exactly this would feel like and what it would do for me was uncertain, but I was confident that this would be worth everything that I had done to earn this scroll and any pain I was about to go through.
I was slightly nervous too as I looked down at the scroll, taking in the instructions and making sure I understood them completely as I prepared to go through with this, all while I became the center of attention as everyone waited for me to begin as well.
Spending so long of this life avoiding this made those gazes all the more palpable, and although my skin was tingling thanks to a few of the observers having less than pure intentions with their gazes I was able to brush it aside in lieu of the mana circulation I was preparing.
So without overthinking anything I used my mana to open up both of my palms and allow my blood to flow freely, only taking a moment to wonder if the array worked because my old blood was dripping out so that the new blood could replace it.
A new blood that was potentially going to change quite a lot about me the same way that it had changed so much about my mate, who was watching with a lazy, lustful smirk that helped distract me from the hungrier one nearby...
