Chapter 1363 - 1362: Bloodline Upgrades (3)

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at my mate as she leaned a little closer, her nose twitching as she whispered "What I do know is that I feel so damn good right now... and you... you've never smelt better~!", making my brow arch immediately as I wondered what had come over her.

"Your scent is so potent... that lemony twang is just... mmm..."

Before she could try and lean even closer to sniff me directly, Jahi came over and pulled the darker, slightly reddened Jackalkin away from me and stared down into her eyes, looking her over and taking in all of the changes from up close.

"This is definitely... something. How in the hells..? Magic will never cease to amaze, no matter how long I live and how much I think I've seen."

Anput didn't say anything and instead just twisted herself so that she was standing in Jahi's arms in a way that was very clearly sensual, prompting the Demoness to give her a much closer one over as she checked out specific parts of the Jackalkin.

Looking away from them and approaching Leone instead, I pulled the Vampire's attention away from them as well and said "It would seem that the bloodline upgrade for her was rather... straightforwards. Whether it has done something extra to her besides what we've seen is unknown, but..."

"It is rather impressive nonetheless, that's for sure. I can feel it, and I am certain you can as well if you focus on her and only her. The mana that wafts off of her is purer. Hotter. Her body has become... a furnace, I suppose. The excess heat she is producing outwardly is entirely thanks to the immense heat that is now found within her."

I glanced back at my mate and focused my mana into my eyes, staring at her through this different vision and finding myself rather shocked since her appearance was drastically different there; like Leone had said she was radiating the excess while her body acted like a furnace.

Fire was bound beneath her flesh and imprisoned for the moment, but it was abundantly clear that the moment she released them those flames would come roaring to life for her, burning whatever was around her and granting her a large amount of raw power all at once.

Then there was the unique way that the flames coiled around her muscles, wrapping around the sinews and slowly gathering within them as they waited to be unleashed as well, likely giving her an explosive power that was going to be incredibly potent going forwards.

"Physically she has already changed so much, but really... it's far more than I can see. The darker skin, red sheen, reddish pupils and that single streak of crimson hair... clearly her body is more geared for fire than it is for earth."

"It makes sense considering she was born in the desert. Fire is the primary element there by a wide margin. It does beg the question, how good is her control over her Metal Mana now that she is so... fiery?"

With the Jackalkin flirting happily with our Demoness lover we were able to discuss this as we pleased, though we were eventually interrupted by Draka as she approached us and said "I... feel like it'd be best to just give this to you instead of wasting it on me."

I was surprised to find the Dragonkin handing over her array to us, and even before either of us could attempt to decline it and tell her to save it for her own use - be it for herself, for her wives or for one of her children - she just shook her head and pressed it into my hands.

"One of you should use it. Don't try and convince me otherwise; just give me a little more materials or enchanted items to go home with and we can call it even. If that still has you feeling uneasy about this... just promise me that you'll do something for me in the future."

Her insistence was enough to convince me, and although I felt that this was definitely not an even trade it was one that I was going to have to accept since doing otherwise would upset the Dragonkin making it.

"Besides, if I go home and use it on one of my wives, it invites jealousy and dark thoughts, and if I use it on one of my children... that's even worse. As for myself, well... Dragon blood is already so potent and I haven't even managed to properly make use of it yet, so it would just be a waste. Don't worry about it, alright?"

Patting our shoulders and leaving before we could begin to argue, Draka made her way back to her seat and prepared to watch the next one, her scroll weighing heavily in my hand as I felt a little guilty about this even if she didn't.

"Well..."

Leone just nodded before taking the scroll from me, saying "If it is her wish, let's adhere to it. For now, you can go sit where Anput had been. Lilith!" before going to the older Demoness to begin setting up the next array.

Now that we had seen Anput's reaction to everything for a few minutes it would seem that Leone was keen to push forwards with my own use of the array, especially now that we had a third one to utilize thanks to Draka.

I was... intrigued, slightly nervous and immensely curious about what was going to happen with me after this array was used, the alterations that my mate had acquired being both incredible as well as slightly underwhelming.

She was some sort of fiery Jackalkin now, but I also just wasn't willing to just write her change up completely just yet since there was a chance she had some sort of alternative state or a way to utilize her power that needed to be activated.

Or maybe her changes were entirely internal like I had seen, meaning her outward appearance was slightly different but revealed little about what had actually happened to her; either way, I was very much looking forwards to what was going to happen to me as I sat down in the middle of the array.
