My Servant System
Chapter 1362 - 1361: Bloodline Upgrades (2)

Now that the rather 'uncomfortable' presence of the Demon Wolf was gone from my side, I could finally breathe freely and focus on the things that were important, like the runes being etched into the ground or the herbs that they two women just pulled from the scroll itself.

"Wait... is the scroll some sort of storage artifact as well?"

Neither of them looked up from what they were doing, but Leone did nod her head and answer my question, her focus still on the magical array she was inscribing into the ground while Lilith situated the herbs in various ways that didn't make sense to me at the moment.

"Of a sort, yes... it seems to hold the necessary 'ingredients' for this to work alongside having a peculiar set of instructions that seem so infuriating simple... as well as being completely unthinkable. There is the additional matter of the instructions being apart of that set of runes that are impossible to remember."

I immediately tested that by looking at them and then looking away, trying to recall them and recreate them myself only to shake my head and smile wryly when I realized I couldn't; they were inscribing them while staring at the unfurled scroll between them, working on each rune one by one as they slowly finished the array.

"This is oddly fascinating... Will it take a long time, or is it a simple array to create?"

"Another minute or so, I think. Then Anput needs to take off her shirt so that we have free access to her arms, back, abdomen and sternum. If you wouldn't mind, could you clean her completely? I mean completely, not just a wash."

"Sterilize?"

I didn't question the order itself but instead just ensured I was understanding her correctly, so when she nodded I just approached my mate and helped her shrug free of her clothing, leaving her sitting in the middle with just her bra to conceal her chest.

I also didn't need to turn around to know that Lady Fenyras was smirking as she stared at us both, the Demon Wolf unabashedly letting me know she was going to be watching keenly when it was my turn... and I couldn't find it in me to be entirely angry with that.

Anyways, taking that out of my mind and focusing on my job, I used my mana to scour Anput's skin completely, running the stands of mana over her and removing any and all particles of dirt or sand that she might have left on her.

Being extremely thorough meant having incredible control, but for me it was just a simple matter as I made sure she was ready for the Ritual to come; during that time she took great pleasure in having me cleaning her off, the Jackalkin smirking just like the Demon Wolf as she waited for everything to be ready.

Her flirtations were brushed aside and shelved for later as I stepped back and allowed both of the women to begin applying a paste made from the herbs to her skin, painting runes on her body that were blurry when I looked at them and completely fuzzy when I was turned away.

Each one rested over a specific point of her body; right over her sternum, over her heart, on the ends of her collarbones, top of her arms, wrists, palms, shoulder blades and so much more were covered in this paste.

For a moment I was surprised her face was left barren, only to watch as they took an entire golden leaf and pressed it against her brow, sticking it to her skin and leaving her sitting there looking rather... idiotic, especially with how she blinked a few times as she tried to comprehend having a leaf on her face.

We weren't given the time to laugh at her though as Leone immediately crouched in front of her and began to whisper something to her, giving her the scroll and stepping out of the array to join the rest of us, making it clear it was about to start.

Reading over the scroll twice and making sure she understood it, Anput kept it in her lap and used her mana to slice open her palms, right across the globs of paste; opening two identical wounds she proceeded to press her hands together and mix the paste with her blood, all while she took deep, slightly dramatic breaths.

Rubbing her hands together and mixing it thoroughly, she took the large gobs of now bloodied paste and gently pressed it against each of the other spots that were marked, causing the blood to spread as the mana within reacted to... something.

Be it the runes that were inscribed on the ground or the runes painted onto her body, the herbal paste began to redden before slowly sinking into her flesh, making its way into her and making the Jackalkin hiss softly as she trembled.

Each muscle group around each of the marks that sunk into her spasmed wildly before calming down, but even then she was trembling and in clear pain as she held back a cry, all while the runes on the ground began to emit a red glow.

It all happened rather fast, and it was nowhere near as flashy as I was anticipating; with a brilliant burst of light and a clear pulse of power the runes were wiped away from the ground, the red light shooting into the Jackalkin and disappearing afterwards.

She didn't react to the beams of energy that entered her like she had the pastes, but it was clear she still felt something since she continued to tremble before eventually just... going still; that immediately worried me as I noticed her eyes going somewhat dull while her body just seemed to lock up, but before I could do anything she was back.

Those obsidians I loved so dearly cleared back up and began to shine with that familiar arrogant luster, though now with every passing second they continued to sharpen; her pupils gained a reddish hue while the inky blackness spread out a little more, covering more of her sclera.

Then there was the immediate changes to her body that I could notice with my own eyes; her skin 'tightened' over her muscles - which bulged a little bit before relaxing as they underwent a sort of expansion - while her fur and hairs became sleeker and shinier.

It didn't seem like a drastic improvement whatsoever, but then there was a more obvious shift, being the darkening of her skin from just that bronze to a more darker, richer tone also took on a reddish hue.

After thinking her alterations were done though a single patch of her hair shifted over to crimson, turning that entire length of hair red and giving her a rather... unique look, one that would definitely take some getting used to.

Letting out a long, somewhat tired exhale, Anput surprised us again as her breath came out far hotter than it should have, appearing almost like a haze of heat that one would see during the summer.

"Huh... That's new."

Her voice was the same, and after a moment she looked down at her hands and nodded slowly before standing up, rolling out her joints and cracking most of her body as she said "This feels... good. Very good."

The longer she stretched out her legs the more I noticed that she seemed to have grown slightly taller too, though I wasn't entirely certain if I was just imagining things or if it was the truth; what I did know for sure though was that my mate was definitely different now, and the change had happened rather quickly and apparently seamlessly.

That didn't stop Leone or I from going forwards to give her a checkup, nor did it stop Lilith from observing her like some lab experiment as she took measurements and muttered to herself quietly; it also didn't stop Anput from smirking at me as she leaned over and whispered "I wanna check if 'that' got an improvement too..."

It would seem she was still the same futanari I had fallen in love with too, which was both a relief and something that made me let out an exasperated sigh as I continued to check up on her, ignoring the new version of my mate that was definitely~ sexier than before...
