My Pet Beast is really not an Evil God
Chapter 274 - 126: Floating in the Mother River Until Losing Contact (Asking for Monthly Tickets)

Chapter 274: Chapter 126: Floating in the Mother River Until Losing Contact (Asking for Monthly Tickets)

In the Beast Master Space within his mind, Gary Smith could vaguely perceive an endless spiritual sea, making humans seem insignificant in front of it.

Although still separated by a layer, listening to the call of the Mother River, he felt as if a mother was calling her cub back home for dinner...

He didn’t know whether it was because of his Taboo Position as the Master of the Gate, or some other factor?

"This is a bit too enthusiastic..."

Gary Smith was caught off guard. He had originally planned to enter the Mother River for exploration once he reached the Silver High Rank. But now, the door was open.

To enter or not to enter?

Or just hang around?

Since he got information about the Mother River from Lilith, Gary didn’t feel as clueless as before.

He would have to enter sooner or later, so it might be good to scope it out first. If any problem arose, he could quickly retreat.

There’s no way he would be unlucky enough to encounter a dormant ancient being as soon as he entered, right...?

It seemed quite likely!

As the thought crossed his mind, Gary felt conflicted and held a family meeting with his three little pets...he kicked away the Living Weapon Egg that didn’t have a contract yet, so it couldn’t go with them inside.

After listening to Master’s description, Little Spider pondered seriously and nodded:

"Ying!"

I will protect Master! We can try it!

(๑•̀ㅁ•́ฅ)

Mousie also nodded and seriously said:

"Cultivator, I also think we can try to squeeze in first, pave the way, and by the time others reach the Golden Peak, we would be already traveling on a prosperous avenue."

"..."

What Mousie said was a bit weird. It felt like a truck wheel had run over his face.

But it wasn’t surprising that a hamster would say strange things.

The egg on the side also bounced two times to show that it would do the same, but it was ignored by the other three.

Since his pet beasts were raring to go, Gary felt he couldn’t back down. As there was still time until the battle for unconventional items the next day, he decided to enter the first main tributary of the Mother River—the Primordial Spirit Sea.

After making sure the Taboo Curse Mark was suppressed, the shining puzzle pieces in Gary’s mind representing Little Spider and Mousie lit up, entering the Beast Master Space with him.

However, what met their eyes...

Was a sea as profound as the darkness, incredibly mysterious, yet composed not of water, but droplets of highly concentrated original spirituality. Even a drop could cause an explosion in a being that didn’t possess the Golden Peak.

Although the space of Beast Master could transform it, absorbing merely a hundredth of a drop each day was already enough to support a second-level Beast Master Space.

Therefore, there were only two possible outcomes for a BeastMaster who falls into it. They would either dissolve instantly, or they would be filled with vast spiritual energy, undergoing some sort of abnormality and becoming a mutant.

Even Gary, who had the Eye of Truth, couldn’t see the underwater scene. He felt an inexplicable fear spreading the longer he looked. It was as if something under the water was silently watching him.

Looking around, the surroundings were engulfed in a grey fog, including the sky. It was impossible to sense any direction with the eyes here, nor was it clear whether the concept of the sun existed.

Because the only light source came from above his head.

A basketball-sized spirit lamp formed by the puzzle of spirituality floated above him, radiating a red and purple glow. The lit area expelled all fog.

By Gary’s estimate, it illuminated a fifty-meter radius around him. Beyond that, everything was enveloped in the grey mist, representing chaos and disorder.

It was like playing a MOBA game with the entire map in darkness. If you don’t go over there, you’ll never know what’s hidden.

"According to Lilith, a BeastMaster who just entered the Primordial Spirit Sea can condense a spirit lamp with his own spiritual power. It will keep burning and illuminate the fog. If it’s about to burn out, you need to quickly exit this place. If you get trapped in darkness, it will attract some kind of unknown horror."

"Generally speaking, a regular Golden Peak can illuminate a ten-meter radius, but as a Silver Rank Beast Tamer, my illumination reached fifty meters. If it goes like this, when I reach the Golden Peak, won’t I become a little sun,......"

Gary pondered and then looked down at his feet. His expression was a bit complicated as he couldn’t help but complain:

"Why... why does my ship... look like this?"

All things could enter the Supreme Mother River, but other than humans, although they possess a slightly higher ability to resist spiritual contamination, they could only swim on the surface of the Spirit Sea.

The deeper you go, the higher the concentration of spiritual energy, the higher the chance of abnormalities, and at all times there’s a need to use spiritual power to resist the influx of original spirituality.

This method was very risky and easy to be ambushed by some unknown existence lurking nearby, directly being dragged to the bottom of the sea, so most choose to use extra power to float on the Spirit Sea. But the speed at which the spirit lamp burns out will be faster during this process.

Human BeastMasters, on the other hand, can use ships to navigate, hide themselves and retain their energy for longer. Hence, it is said that humans are favored by the Mother River.

The "ship" typically takes the form of a canoe, but different spiritual puzzles mean different shapes of the "ship". A portion of people’s "ships" can become bizarre.

The "ship" that Gary was standing on was a black and red cuboid, made of blood and flesh and a mech-like exterior. On each side of the ship was a purple Eye of the Void, and the central hub had been hollowed out for people to stand.
