My Love Debts Are Everywhere! -
Chapter 654 - 654: I Accept It
Upon hearing the explanation, Leon was stunned. He fell silent, as if lost in thought.
"Wait… what that middle-aged man said actually makes sense," he muttered to himself. "How did I not see it sooner?"
Come to think of it, Athena had never been truly angry with him—not even when he was romantically involved with Arshley or Luna during their time at the Imperial Palace.
She would sometimes sulk or act jealous, but it was always within reason. And Leon had always let it slide.
But when he showed interest in Zelda's painting at Elina's fortune-telling tent, Athena's reaction was noticeably different.
She seemed far more jealous and upset than usual. Leon suspected it was because Zelda was an Elf—a race separate from the three major ones: Demons, Dragons, and Humans.
Perhaps Athena feared that if he ever got into a serious relationship with Zelda, he would forget about her—and leave no space for her in his heart.
Once he realized that, Leon visibly relaxed and let out a long sigh.
"Thank you, Old Man," he said softly, bowing his head. "After hearing your explanation, I finally understand. It really was my fault for being so clueless. Without you, I would've made a terrible mistake."
The rejection he had prepared earlier would have surely shattered Zelda's fragile heart. And if that happened, he was certain it would be difficult for her to recover.
Not to brag, but Elina had once mentioned that her sister had never fallen in love before.
In other words, he was Zelda's first love in her three hundred years of life.
Leon knew better than anyone how painful it was to have a first love end in heartbreak. The wound was deep, slow to heal—unless one could find someone just as special to take that place.
But… could anyone really compare to him? Ahem!
The middle-aged man gave a satisfied nod upon seeing Leon's change in attitude.
"I'm glad you understand. Truly, that's a relief," he said, letting out a long sigh, as if a great burden had been lifted from his chest.
Leon found his words a little odd but chose not to question them.
"Now that everything's clear, there's no reason for me to stay," the man continued, rising to his feet. He gave Leon a meaningful smile. "Enjoy your long and beautiful night, Leon Kruger. It will be an unforgettable experience."
With that, his figure slowly dissolved into a cloud of white smoke and drifted out through the window behind him.
Leon scratched his head in confusion.
"What did that man mean by 'an unforgettable experience'? Is something going to happen?" he wondered.
No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't figure it out.
With a deep breath, he pushed the thought aside and stood up.
But just as he was about to take a step toward the bed, the doorknob suddenly turned—as if someone was trying to open it from the outside.
Leon froze, then immediately shifted into a cautious stance.
"Who's there?" he asked, narrowing his eyes, his mind racing through possibilities.
But then he noticed something: there was no killing intent behind the door. Whoever it was didn't mean him harm.
As his thoughts drifted, he heard a soft click from the doorknob. Slowly, the door creaked open.
And from behind it appeared a figure Leon never expected to see.
"Zelda?" His mouth fell open in surprise.
Zelda froze the moment she saw Leon standing near the sofa, his eyes wide in surprise.
A wave of panic and embarrassment swept over her, and a rosy blush bloomed across her cheeks, spreading from ear to ear.
"L-Leon… You're still awake?" She asked softly, her voice trembling as she blushed.
"I was just about to go to bed," Leon replied, still confused and slightly awkward. "And you… why did you come into my room? Especially dressed like that?"
His gaze instinctively drifted over her from head to toe.
Normally, Zelda wore loose green or white dresses that concealed her figure. But tonight, she was wearing a green nightgown—much thinner and more form-fitting than anything he had seen her wear before.
Even compared to her previous nightgown—which Leon had already found quite alluring—this one was on a whole different level.
Her figure was clearly outlined—her huge breasts barely concealed by purple lingerie, a slender waist that accentuated her curves, and full, alluring thighs—all of it made Leon's breath hitch slightly.
But what caught his attention the most was the lacy purple panties she wore.
The nightgown's hem only reached her calves, making that detail far too visible—unavoidably so.
Zelda's face burned hotter at his words, especially under the weight of his gaze.
But then, the realization that Leon would be gone tomorrow hit her like a wave.
"If I miss this chance, I'll regret it for the rest of my life!" she cried out inwardly, her heart resolute.
Gradually, the blush on her face began to fade, replaced by a soft, loving gaze she directed at Leon—eyes filled with quiet determination.
"Leon, do you remember my confession from four days ago?" Zelda asked softly.
She stepped into the room, gently closed the door behind her, and began walking toward him—each slow, deliberate step making Leon's heartbeat quicken.
"Ahem!" He cleared his throat in an attempt to steady himself. "Of course I remember."
Zelda's smile widened at his response. She kept walking until she stood directly in front of him.
Because of their height difference, she had to tilt her head back to meet his eyes.
"Well then…" she murmured, biting her lower lip. "I want to hear your answer now."
She had thought it through carefully. The reason she had come to his room tonight was to finally ask for an answer to the confession she had made days ago.
If he accepted, she would be overjoyed. But she knew rejection was also a possibility.
And for that… she had a plan.
Yes—an attack.
In fact, before she came here, even the First Elder had advised her to take action.
Her exact words were, "If things don't go well, just turn the rice into porridge."
If it came to that, Leon wouldn't be able to turn her down. After all, by then, she would already be his woman.
It sounded selfish, but she didn't care. All her life, she had been the one to compromise—bound by rules and circumstances, never truly getting what she wanted.
But this time, she was going to choose Leon—no matter the cost, even if it meant facing his hatred.
Leon didn't respond immediately. He simply looked at the beautiful face before him, then slowly reached out and brushed his fingers gently against her cheek.
As his hand touched her skin, Zelda instinctively closed her eyes halfway, letting herself savor the warmth of his touch.
"Zelda," he said softly, "I've made up my mind."
Zelda's body tensed, her heart pounding in her chest. Yet her expression remained composed, as if bracing herself for whatever answer would come.
Leon took a quiet breath… then said, "I accept."
