My Love Debts Are Everywhere! -
Chapter 652 - 652: A Special Gift
On the outskirts of the city stood a small, secluded hill. From there, the view of Lusire was breathtaking, clear, and expansive from the elevated height.
Although it wasn't adorned with as many lights as human or demon cities, its charm remained captivating.
In the distance, the silhouette of the World Tree loomed majestically, and with the star-filled night sky above, the scene was nothing short of enchanting.
At that moment, Leon and Zelda sat on the ground, overgrown with short grass.
They gazed ahead, quietly admiring the serene beauty of Lusire spread out beneath them.
Zelda leaned back, supporting herself with both hands behind her.
Her long legs, only partially covered by the hem of her dress, were stretched out before her.
Beside her, Leon couldn't help but glance at those beautiful legs—but quickly turned his eyes away, pretending as if he hadn't looked at all.
Unfortunately for him, Zelda noticed the fleeting glance, and a faint smile naturally appeared on her lips.
"Thank you for accompanying me on my date—uh, I mean, shopping trip, Leon. I really enjoyed it," Zelda said softly.
Her eyes remained fixed on the man beside her, full of gratitude and affection.
This was her first time experiencing what a date truly felt like.
Until now, she had only watched other elves go on dates or read about them in romantic novels from the library.
But now, she was living it herself—and it filled her with joy. What made it even more special was that the one beside her was someone she loved deeply—making the moment feel truly perfect.
"You're welcome, Zelda," Leon replied with a warm smile. "I enjoyed it too—just as much as you did. So really, I should be the one thanking you."
The two exchanged glances and shared a soft, lighthearted laugh.
"By the way..." Zelda reached for the small bag containing the diamond rings she had bought earlier. She took out one of them and opened its box.
Inside was a ring adorned with a red gemstone—sparkling and beautiful, even in Leon's eyes.
"It's for you," she said softly, her expression tinged with embarrassment.
"For me?" Leon blinked, surprised.
He had assumed she bought both rings for herself and Elina. But apparently, one was meant for him.
"Mm-hmm!" Zelda nodded, her cheeks flushing pink. "In Elven tradition, giving a gift—especially a ring—is a heartfelt gesture of gratitude. So... please accept it."
Of course, what she said was a lie. No such tradition existed among the Elves.
In truth, giving a ring to someone of the opposite sex was a direct confession of love.
But Zelda couldn't bring herself to say that. She feared that if she was honest, Leon might reject her feelings.
"I see," Leon nodded slightly, as if he understood.
With a faint smile on his lips, Leon accepted the ring and slipped it onto his left ring finger.
Zelda stared in surprise, her eyes widening in disbelief. "You... accepted it?"
Leon looked her way and smiled casually.
"You gave it to me, didn't you? Of course I accepted it," he said casually. "Or... would you prefer I refused it?"
"N-No! I want you to accept it!" Zelda quickly waved both hands, flustered.
Leon chuckled at her sweet, innocent reaction. He then turned his gaze to the ring on his finger, falling briefly into thought.
"This woman's terrible at lying," he muttered under his breath with a sigh.
Of course, he knew her story was just a cover.
Having read extensively about Elven culture, Leon was familiar with their traditions.
Nowhere had he ever read that offering a diamond ring was a gesture of gratitude. Elves typically gave simple gifts—flowers, handmade crafts, or food.
But a diamond ring? That was meant only for someone truly loved.
So he immediately understood what Zelda's gesture truly meant.
And the reason he didn't reject it... was because he knew how much it would hurt her.
Well, he had to admit—he did love this woman. But the promise he made to Athena kept those feelings locked away.
"It suits you," Zelda said gently, her eyes filled with sincerity.
Then, she opened another small box. Inside was a matching ring, this one adorned with a blue gem.
She carefully placed it on her own right ring finger.
After that, she gently brought her hand closer to Leon's—her right ring finger resting beside his left.
The soft moonlight glinted off the two rings, revealing a beautiful, matching sparkle.
It felt as if they were always meant to be worn together.
"It's beautiful," Leon murmured absentmindedly.
Zelda didn't say a word, but the admiration shining in her eyes was unmistakable.
"By the way, Leon..." she said, turning her head slowly toward him. "Who is that necklace... for?"
Her voice was barely above a whisper. She bit her lower lip, clearly nervous and unsure. She knew the question might be too personal.
After all, the necklace had nothing to do with her.
But Leon only smiled and raised a finger to his lips.
"It's a secret..."
Zelda: "...."
...
The next day...
"So, you'll be leaving in three days?"
In a beautiful garden full of blooming flowers, Astra sat on a chair, her eyes on Leon, who was seated across from her.
Leon took a sip of tea and gave a small nod. "Yes, in three days, I'll be gone."
"I see." Astra nodded slowly, then asked, "Are you heading to the Dwarven territory?"
Leon paused, surprised. "How did you know?"
"Pfft! Malverna told me yesterday," Astra said with a light giggle.
"So, the First Elder told you, huh? Not surprising," Leon muttered with a nod. "Yes, I'm heading to the Dwarven territory. One of the Emotion Crystals is there—and I need to retrieve it."
There was no time to waste—he had to become stronger as soon as possible. Collecting all three crystals and merging the holy weapons into one was the only way.
Only then would he stand a chance against the Evil God.
"How long will you be gone? And when will you return to the Demon race's territory?"
The sudden question caught Leon a little off guard. He looked at Astra, whose face was filled with anticipation, and quickly guessed the reason behind it.
"I'm not sure," Leon replied, shaking his head. "The journey is long—it might take months. And once I arrive, I'll need to negotiate with the dwarves and ask for their cooperation. I could end up staying there for a year... maybe even longer."
"A year?" Astra frowned slightly. "That's quite a while."
But she soon let out a long sigh and smiled softly. "Alright, I understand. It won't be easy. I can wait... until I meet Liliana and my adorable grandchildren."
Her smile was utterly radiant and genuine, and Leon couldn't help but chuckle.
"Oh, right! Leon, I just had a brilliant idea!" Astra suddenly stood, eyes lighting up with excitement.
"Idea?" Three question marks seemed to hover above Leon's head.
"Yes!" Astra clasped her hands together, her expression glowing with enthusiasm. "Let's make a contract!"
