“That’s good,” Luo Xiyun sighed with relief.

“I’m really sorry.” At this moment, Chen Xu also came to his senses and sincerely apologized, “I thought you were someone else in the heat of the moment, I’m truly sorry.”

The man glanced at him and asked Luo Xiyun standing beside him, “Sis, is this guy really your boyfriend?”

Luo Xiyun said, “Were those flowers really from you? Weren’t they handled by Secretary Jin? Changing florists every day, with your personality, you could never be so detailed.”

“That was still arranged by me, and I paid for them.”

Chen Xu said, “Now, I have come to see you in person, and I’m personally inviting you to dinner, isn’t that enough sincerity for you?”

“What do you want me to do?”

“At least bring a bouquet of flowers.”

Chen Xu was somewhat surprised, “I thought you wouldn’t like men giving you flowers.”

At 5:50 PM, Chen Xu, holding a bouquet of roses, arrived at Wanhua Company. He had personally bought them from a florist.

Shortly after, Luo Xiyun came out of her office; she had changed her clothes and gracefully walked up to Chen Xu.

“Here, for you.” Chen Xu handed her the flowers.

In front of everyone, she took the flowers with a smile, saying, “Thank you, I really like them.” She naturally took his arm, and they walked out together.

Seeing her take his arm, Chen Xu knew the matter was behind them and felt a sigh of relief.

Downstairs, Luo Xiyun sat in Chen Xu’s new car for the first time. He had bought it under the company’s name, a presentable Audi. It meant a lot to him; finally, through his efforts, he had a car that wouldn’t embarrass her.

Face, to him, wasn’t important. But with Luo Xiyun, he couldn’t tolerate her being embarrassed. When he was no longer alone, he wasn’t just living for himself.

“Is everything going well with the company?” Once in the car, Luo Xiyun put the flowers on the back seat and asked.

“Very well,” Chen Xu, fastening his seatbelt, said, “Thanks to you recommending Secretary Jin, who is so essential for the company to operate.”

Luo Xiyun replied, “She is indeed very capable, and honestly, I’ve always felt a bit sorry for her. If it weren’t for following me, with her skills, she would have done much better at my uncle’s company.”

“By the way, why did she resign before?” Chen Xu asked, something he had never asked Secretary Jin as he felt scrutinizing the personal lives of female subordinates closely was inappropriate.

“Her father was ill and hospitalized, and her two sisters had just gotten married and had children, so they couldn’t leave. Initially, they hired a caretaker, but when it turned out the caretaker wasn’t diligent enough, she was worried and resigned to take care of her father.”

Only then did Chen Xu realize, “So, what happened to her father later?”

“It seems he passed away a few months ago, and that’s when she started looking for a job again, coming to me. Originally, I wanted to put her in charge of administration. Then I thought you needed staff, so I recommended her to you.”

Pausing, she continued, “Initially, I was thinking she’d help you negotiate the deal with Jinyun Group and then come back to me. But she chose to stay with you. It shows she sees potential in your company. That’s pretty good.”

Chen Xu said, “Compared with Wanhua Company, there’s still a long way to go.”

“Wanhua has been developing for so many years, and has the backing of Tianluo Group. It’s not easy to catch up. It’s good to have ambition, but don’t overstrain yourself. If you put your health at risk, it would be a loss.”
