"You take a rest here. I will go and talk with Lucas so I can send him off."

Asher watched the duke leave in a hurry, seemingly embarrassed which made Asher feel he was right.

The duke is a good man.

But the tone Felix said it with so much gratitude was indeed weird to his ears.

One day, he would wish to hear this from that bastard too. Huh! Karl might never say ’thank you’. He is a rich bastard so he only gives thanks with coins. He thinks it’s cool or something. Crazy bastard...

’Why am I thinking about that bastard again? Shit...’

"No need. Just sleep here for today."

The duke said while pushing Asher back to the bed.

Asher asked hesitantly.

"The bed is big enough for two."

The duke said as his eyes roamed around the bed and the room. Asher also followed his gaze and hesitantly agreed.

"Right...it is enough."

So...they are going to sleep together again...

It again got really silent but this time the cat’s purr took over the silence. Asher couldn’t help but chuckle at how cute it was.

That cat was sleeping soundly on his lap and Asher was at a loss what to do. Should he put it down to lay on the bed? It might not be okay to let the cat sleep on the duke’s bed since it had left its fur everywhere.

"Let’s let it sleep somewhere else for now. We don’t know if it’s an outdoor cat. So let me put him outside."

Felix picked up the cat that meowed in annoyance as its sleep was disturbed. Felix chuckled and looked at it playfully with the feeling of victory and carried it in his arms. Asher who was watching this chuckled again as he could clearly understand the expression on the duke’s face.

He seemed happy.
