Chapter 80: Karl & Felix(1)

"Dont leave yet. We met after a long time. We have a lot of things to talk about."

After Asher calmed down, Felix sat next to him and told the two they would leave soon to which Karl disturbed them.

"Why did you kidnap him? You know it will scare him."

"He is fine. Look!"

Karl tried to justify what he did and got a kick from Lucas.

"Just apologise."

Lucas said, his glare almost piercing through Karl. Without hesitation, Karl took a big gulp and turned to Asher, quickly apologising in a very sincere manner which left Felix in surprise.

"I am sorry. I will take the credit for everything that happened."

When Karl finished his very sincere apology, Lucas again kicked him lightly before giving him an annoyed look.

"It’s not credit, blame."

Lucas corrected him, extremely annoyed and frustrated at that point dealing with the situation. Why was he so good at annoying him?

"Right right. I will take the blame. I am sorry. "

Lucas nodded in approval after Karl’s somewhat sincere apology. But he was again annoyed as Karl sat next to him, giving him a very familiar smile.

The one that asks for praise.

He did a terrible thing then apologised for it and now wants praise for apologising? Lucas ignored him and Karl sat there silently, acting pitiful.

It’s a whole another drama going on that side. And on the other side, the two people sat silently, one in utter shock and disbelief as the other was still worried.

Asher...

What was he feeling stuck between these three now?

Dumbfounded.

Exactly!

’I am in the royal palace?! This is a prince?! He is friends with the duke and he wants me to stay forever with the duke?!’

When Asher gained his consciousness back, he was faced with this man, very welcoming and gentle.

He talked kindly, asking him if he was okay. For a moment, Asher wondered if he got saved by him but well, it turned out it was his henchman that kidnapped him.

Even though he was basically kidnapped,

Asher got to sit down and have a very nice talk.

The man introduced himself as the prince, Felix’s and Lucas’s best friend, then telling how happy he was to know Asher had become so important to Felix.

Meaning, Asher would be important to him as well.

He did ask about the rumour and Asher still didn’t say everything because he wasn’t sure if this was a person he could trust as he was worried about himself being exposed to unwanted people.

But...this man already knew he was an omega. Exactly what he told the duke.

And he said how he got to know everything from Lucas which cleared Asher’s confusion as to how he knew his lie, the big ’creation’

According to this man, things had always been that way for years. He knew their private affair too since the duke had shared a summary of the situation with sir Lucas which should be done since he was his physician.

And, he had shared the information to this man, of course with the duke’s permission because he was basically the person that funded and helped Felix to find a cure to his sickness. So, he actually deserves to get updates about the duke’s health conditions.

If it wasn’t for his power, maybe Felix wouldn’t have gotten to meet so many great magicians and seek help. Even though he got no help, it was still hope for him at that moment.

Asher realised the dynamic between these three is quite strange. These two had basically raised the duke while staying like friends. But it’s quite surprising to realise given the fact the duke always looks grumpy and the old looking one between these three. It turned out he was the child in this group.

As Asher kept his silence, the man must have realised Asher was skeptical. To make things ease, the man went on to explain how they met since Asher already knew almost everything about the duke’s life. One more story wouldn’t be too much.

So, according to his story,

The prince had not met Felix first but Lucas.

When Lucas was in the academy to learn medicine he had helped him heal after he got into an accident. They were very young and had become close just with one help which led them to meet often and Lucas to open up about his life as they became best friends.

Then, he only got to know Felix when Lucas decided to introduce the two to each other. But young Felix who was not trusting people easily had not paid any attention to him and hadn’t even tried to get close to him.

His mindset was just Lucas was enough for him. And, he had been quite jealous seeing Lucas had another friend.

Felix had confessed he got jealous, later when they became close. So, Felix had been ignoring Karl, innocently upset. It made Asher feel the duke was as normal as anyone else. Little duke must have been very cute.

Lucas had talked about Felix a lot too so Karl had also been feeling quite jealous. However, he wanted to impress Lucas and get close to him more so he tried his best to befriend Felix.

Actually, Karl himself had been once kidnapped by his own uncle due to problems within the family. He was beaten up, starved and still has scars from that terrifying incident to this day.

That was the only thing he had to use to befriend Felix. Knowing Felix himself was a victim, he would not be heartless to another victim. So, Karl took that chance.

He talked about his life to Felix. He explained how he wanted friends and how he needed someone to support him, not telling Felix he knew his past from Lucas too. Lucas only told him about his past to Karl, so much later. And that story didn’t include Felix. But later, Lucas had answered Karl about how Lucas and Felix met.

According to this guy’s story, Asher realised he didn’t seem to have known about the duke’s sexual abuse from the beginning. And he was right. The prince said he had only been informed about it just days ago as this father daughter mess came up.

It had made him quite upset that neither Felix nor Lucas had told him. But he was most upset with Lucas because of course Felix wouldn’t want to talk about it. But Lucas had left out an important part in their past. However, he soon calmed down and did not hold onto it as he is easy to coax.

And, it turned out Lucas didn’t let it out intentionally, but somewhat missed it. He had never told the full story at once how he met Felix. It was fair actually. The prince had never asked Lucas about Felix’s whole history. And, Lucas had always answered only what he asked. He had never told the story as a whole topic.

So, it’s only fair he didn’t know.

The question for that part of the story to come up had never been asked...
