"Hey!"

While Felix was working, he was disturbed by Lucas who came to see him. Felix, as usual, greeted and thought nothing of it, thinking this was also a casual visit. However, he soon gave Lucas a suspicious look when Lucas seemed to be behaving weirdly and mysteriously.

It worried him that this guy was behaving like this.

Did something happen?

"What is it? What is with that ugly smile?"

Felix asked and Lucas left a long sigh before going to settle on the couch.

"Your lover has been missing for three days. Didn’t you know?"

Lucas asked and Felix was confused.

"...Lover?"

"Mm...That Asher."

Lucas said as he rubbed his forehead, avoiding looking at Felix.

"...He is not my lover. But what did you say? Missing?"

Felix got up and asked impatiently.

"Calm down. Didn’t your little daughter tell you he hadn’t come to see her for three days now?"

Lucas asked, still calm despite Felix being impatient.

"No...Just what exactly happened? How do you know he disappeared?"

Felix, frustrated, questioned Lucas who tried to calm him down

"Well, guess what?"

"What?"

"He was kidnapped."

Felix’s eyes widened and Lucas awkwardly gave off a guilty smile which made Felix confused as to why he was so calm about it.

"Aaa...Don’t worry. He was kidnapped by a handsome gentleman who still treats his full grown best friend like a kid."

Lucas said and looked at Felix, still with that guilty look on his face. However, Felix immediately calmed down, realising the situation as Asher was not in danger.

"Don’t tell me that bastard-"

"Yeah...He asked me to pass the message to you. If you don’t come to see him, he will steal your lover. Bullshit like he is a good seducer, can steal the hearts of everyone...bla bla bla."

Lucas said annoyingly, complaining all together with Felix.

Felix sat down, calming down.

What’s with this play?

’He didn’t kidnap him to warn him of something stupid, right?’

Asher thought and sighed again.

Asher might have gotten real scared even though his ’friend’ might not have intended to scare him or harm him.

"That idiot. Ha...let’s go."

"Are you so worried?"

"Asher was once kidnapped. It won’t be anything good to experience that same thing again. You know it."

"I know I know.. Lecture that bastard not me. I also got to know just today. Don’t worry your lover is getting all the care because he has the privilege."

Felix rolled his eyes and immediately got ready to go with Lucas.

He didn’t even know Asher had disappeared.

And Lucas said it’s been three days?!

Even Anne didn’t tell him.

How come?

Wouldn’t she be the most worried one if he doesn’t show up?

Did she perhaps team up with that bastard?

Felix knew she and his friend were very much alike and would absolutely do stupid things like this behind his and Lucas’s back...

Well, as long as Asher is fine...

"We are here!"

Lucas and Felix got off the carriage, standing in front of the majestic royal palace.

So why were they there?

Because his other friend who supposedly kidnapped Asher was there.

Why was he there?

Because that’s where he lives.

So why did he live there?

Because he was a rightful owner to property and a proud member of the royal family.

That’s how it is.

Felix has this powerful friend that is a member of the most powerful family in their empire.

That’s also why they don’t meet often because Felix didn’t want to get mixed up in those affairs.

Karl Edward Hastings.

The third prince of their empire.

For Felix, Karl, a friend...

A friend that took care of him in time of need and still cares for him.

That’s why...

’Ugh! When will he stop calling me son?’

Felix just stood still as the man smiling came to hug him tight, filled with joy as he talked non stop.

"You are here, my son!"

Lucas let out a chuckle as he knew exactly this was going to come out of his mouth.

"Dear prince, step away. He is suffocating."

Lucas kicked Karl in the leg and dragged Felix close to him.

Felix looked at the friend he hadn’t seen for a long time.

Maybe for around five months...

He was still the same. Nothing had changed. Of course. It’s only been five months.

His purple eyes glimmering as he moved around, the majestic shiney red hair showing off his royal blood line’s inheritance...

He was looking as great as ever. And as annoying as ever.

"Where is Asher?"

Felix asked and Karl smirked proudly.

"He is well taken care of. I just wanted to see what your lover looks like."

"Haa..."

Felix let out a long sigh and turned to look at Lucas, squinting his eyes.

"You told him all the nonsense and now look."

Felix complained and Lucas shrugged trying to avoid Felix’s confrontation.

It had always been like this.

But Felix should say he never hated how things were and are.

Karl and Lucas were basically like the parents for Felix. They take care of him, help him and look after him whenever he faces a problem. But most of the time, Felix doesn’t even know if these two also have problems and need help because they take care of it themselves and tell him not to bother as they don’t want him to waste his time on them.

It was actually a weird bond they had in the name of friendship.

Felix never felt like an adult when he was around these two together. He was always taken care of and they would be the ones to take care of him. Even when he was completely capable of doing things on his own, they still stepped up to help him, at least the slightest. Felix was always grateful. Their support made him stronger and less lonely.

While Lucas often comes to see Felix and checks on him, Karl can’t do the same since he has more things to do since he can’t just wander around, as a prince that is doing a huge part in the ruling, helping his brother who is the emperor.

Felix also didn’t visit him often but Lucas did because he was his personal physician and spent most of his time together with him. So he always tells everything that happens to Felix and everything he gets to know. Lucas was the one who maintained their connection.

But he was more than happy to visit Felix and Karl, and keep updating both of them about each others’ lives.

So it’s thanks to Lucas that Felix and Karl keep in touch.
