Chapter 190: Granddaughter

As Asher and Felix were cuddling, chatting as they caught up about the past months, Asher eventually fell asleep. Now holding sleeping Asher in his arms, Felix who was trying to not move, eventually also fell asleep.

They both somehow ended up sleeping till the morning where Felix woke up early to a crying sound of a baby.

At first, Felix, in a daze, wondered why he was hearing a baby crying. That also from somewhere closer...

’Oh right! It’s my child!’

Wide awake with the senses coming back, he rushed to see the little baby.

She was crying.

Felix hoped he woke right when the crying started because he didn’t want to imagine sleeping through when his child was crying like that.

Felix picked up the little baby and was astonished how tiny and fragile it felt.

Panicking, nervous and also excited to hold her, Felix rocked the baby in a familiar manner, trying to calm her down. He wanted to let Asher rest and not disturb but somehow while in the process of calming the baby, Asher also ended up waking up.

It was not because of her crying, unfortunately.

He just woke up naturally. Maybe it’s somehow mother instincts...He wouldn’t usually wake up that early.

"Ah! How long has she been crying?"

Asher asked as he slowly raised his body, fighting the pain.

"Not for long. Since just a few minutes ago."

Felix said and paused for a moment as he saw Asher’s eyes shining.

"You want to try and comfort her?"

Felix asked and Asher extended his arms, nodding.

Felix smiled and then handed over the fussing baby to Asher who gently rocked the baby, talking to her in a very gentle, loving tone.

"You finally woke up. Don’t cry...Sh sh sh."

Asher actually succeeded in stopping the crying as soon as he talked to her.

"I think she likes it when you talk to her."

Felix said as he watched the baby now staring at Asher’s face.

"Obviously she has to like it. Since I will be nagging her all the time."

Asher said with a chuckle, gently caressed the baby’s head, sighing.

"Asher...why are you also crying now?!"

Felix rushed to check on Asher as he saw Asher eventually hiccup and tear up.

"I don’t know. I am just happy!"

Asher said and Felix, who was worried, now paused, feeling relieved.

"Then don’t cry. Just smile. You scared me. Look. Bella was worried too."

Felix said in a teasing manner, pointing at Bella, who was fussing a little again.

"I am sorry. Your father will be more thoughtful, okay?"

Asher said and chuckled as the baby seemingly stretched her body and made sounds that felt like she was giggling.

While Felix and Asher enjoyed their time together, in the living room, sat Karl, playing with Anne on the floor as they both got scolded by Lucas for sitting on the floor instead of the sofa. And they were making him angry early in the morning by not listening to him.

Anne did notice her brother Lucas seemed more mad at brother Karl than her. Which...was good in her opinion. She didn’t want to get scolded by brother Lucas. Thankfully, brother Karl was there for her.

’Hehe...’

Seeing Anne giggling as Lucas nagged them, Karl gently pinched Anne’s cheek, pouting at her.

"You dare to laugh at me? You are being called stupid too."

Karl said and Anne shrugged in response.

"At least I am not more stupid than you."

Anne said and Karl gave her a side eye before apologising to Lucas.

But...his way of apologising dis rub Lucas the wrong way.

"Are you crazy?! Why are you licking my hand?!"

Lucas hit Karl as Karl held his hand, licking his palm, his eyes seductively looking at him.

Lucas, appalled as this was happening in front of Anne, even though Karl was successfully blocking her view as to what he was doing, complained and angrily scolded him.

Thinking she was also going to get scolded, Anne slowly slipped away, reuniting with Felix, Asher and Bella.

"Bella is awake!"

When Anne stood in front of the door, seemingly worried and the sound of Lucas’s angry voice echoing in the living room, Felix knew Anne was there to escape. These situations never get unfamiliar.

It’s somewhat funny to Felix even though Anne was actually scared and didn’t want to get scolded.

Felix secretly chuckled to himself and let Anne in, remembering he should let Karl also visit Bella too now that she was awake and things seemed calmer.

"Felix..Can we go to the living room?"

Asher asked as he placed the baby on the bed and Anne stared at her, giggling while she held Bella’s tiny fingers very gently.

"Is it okay for you to walk that far?"

"What far? It’s just like seven to eight steps."

"If you are feeling fine, then let’s go outside."

"I just feel stuffed here. But I am afraid sir Lucas wll be mad that I am trying to walk around."

"You want me to ask him if it’s okay?"

"...Yeah."

"Okay then. Sit down and wait."

Felix rushed out and Asher sat back down on the bed as he watched him disappear.

’Am I rushing? But it’s boring to be in the same place. Shit...maybe I am really rushing? Felix is going to get scolded.’

Asher sighed but soon got distracted while watching Anne chatting with Bella.

It was adorale.

Anne looked very excited.

He was happy she was happy.

It was such a relief.

He has everything perfect, hasn’t he?

"He said it’s fine!"

Felix barged into the room after sometime again, smiling.

"But he also said not to exhaust yourself too much. You need to rest. But there are no strong prohibitions. And, he asked to bring the baby along with you too."

"Of course I was going to."

Asher then got up and Felix was going to help him but he stopped him.

"I can walk by myself. You get the baby. She can’t walk by herself."

Asher said with a slight chuckle and Felix then obediently but worriedly stepped away from Asher to get the baby.

"I will help father Ash!"

Anne, understanding they were trying to go to the living room, held Asher’s hand as she knew her father needed help.

The help she could do was to try her best.

And, it made her more happy when father Ash accepted her help and thanked her for her kindness.

Following the father and daughter, the other father and daughter also arrived in the living room where Karl and Lucas got up and gathered around Asher to help him in case he suddenly felt weak.

Asher felt this much care wasn’t really necessary but guessed this wasn’t as simple as he is thinking. Everyone was worried.

"Do you feel okay?"

Lucas asked and as Asher answered him in a casual manner, looking indeed fine, everyone’s frowns disappeared.

"That’s good to hear."

Lucas said and went to take a look at the baby that was now peacefully resting on Felix’s arms.

"Oh my! My second granddaughter is here!"
